I have been shopping at the Gold Connection for 30 years. It's been so fun watching them grow. They now sell jewelry in all price points. I'm lucky to say I mostly now buy , only Kerry's designs and her high end jewelry . I also had Kerry design a necklace for me , from sentimental pieces from my mom and grandmother. It turned out even better than I imagined. It's so special... I now live out of state, but come to Texas twice a year. I aways make time to go see all the girls and find out what's in style right now. BEWARE!!!!!!Used to love this place, never screwed me over until now and it's surprising. Had a 14k gold chain bought from the diamond district in New York at TraxNYC. They are popular for doing pieces for all the celebrities you all probably know and listen to. They tested my chain and said it was 10k and lowballed next some number to buy it and scam me. Said no thanks, and just to make sure took it to 3 other jewelers including JARED and they all told me 14k. Will not be coming back here, y'all lost my respect and my business as well as my friends business. Shady businesses don't last. read more

Nice little shop in a row of cute (for here) shops in old buildings on Highway 90. They have some (marginally) more interesting stuff than Zale's, Jared, etc., and the usual stock of watches, engagement rings, etc. Salespersons are nice in their interactions with customers. HOWEVER, I would not recommend taking anything delicate and/or valuable there to have work done on it, unless they change their ways of interacting with customers' jewelry. I took a string of beads that were not individually knotted to be strung with knots. I never felt my beads were treated with respect, frankly. They would do things like putting them on one of the mats jewelry stores put on the counter and then letting them slop off the edge onto the glass. Or letting them bash the edge of a counter or the spiral binding of a catalog. (I don't mean they were twirling them around - I just mean they were not noticing what they came into contact with. Careless.) Or proposing to just stick them in a plastic bag while they were in the store, instead of leaving them in the box I brought them in. The fact that I was willing to spend a fair amount of bucks to have them strung should have earned them respect no matter what the staff thought they were or weren't worth monetarily. I did not mention this until I got my beads back (with a decent job of stringing and a lot of mixups with the clasp that is another story) because I didn't want to take a chance on the beads being treated *worse* - I just handled them with ostentatious care myself when I was in the store, and hoped they would take the hint. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!! First of all, I went in to sell an engagement ring. It had 3 bands. The owner offered me $2000.00 on a 4 karat diamond ring! One of the bands she was selling was identical to one on mine ( mine had 2 identical bands, one goes above & below engagement ring )and she was selling that at $800.00. My ring was 4 karats!!! Then at some point the owner communicates that I went in there to sell the ring to the future "mother in law!" The owner is a gossiping, nosy, busybody who had no right to put my information out there, especially to the one person we were keeping it from!!! Second, the selection is poor, everything looks the same, same settings etc and grossly overpriced. If you want to get screwed, you might as well bend over now, because that's exactly what this woman and her prices will do to you. P.S. I got $6500.00 for my ring someplace else. read more

Customer Service was Exceptional! My boyfriend proposed last Friday and I went in on Monday to ask about maintenance. When I told them who my fiancé was they remembered him. It was nice feeling like we were important not like a huge jewelry chain. Donna noticed that my ring was a little loose. She took the time to size my ring and spent extra time trying to make sure which size was the right size for me. When she said it would be until this Friday to get it back to have it sized and I was like "oh no! I just got it last Friday!" she talked to Luis. When he realized I had only had my ring for 3 days, he offered to resize it that day! I was there on Monday at 2 & I got it back the same day at 5! Their customer service was AMAZING!! Plus, my engagement ring is absolutely gorgeous! We will be definitely getting our wedding bands from them - the Gold Connection in Richmond has earned lifetime customers! read more

Prior to my last purchase, I was very happy with the service and value. The last time I was getting a class ring and asked if there were any current specials or upcoming sales. I was told no, and given the strong impression nothing was imminent. After the purchase I found out that a sale started 3 days later. When questioned, they said they never know when a sale from the manufacturer will begin--which is an entirely different answer than the impression they originally gave. My daughter's Girl Scout troop did a tour at Gold Connection as part of their Juniors Jeweler Badge and we were very impressed with the shop's knowledge and the beautiful custom pieces their jeweler creates. We learned so much during the tour - everything from how to clean jewelry using the various machines the shop has, to how they use CAD 3D software to design custom pieces with customers and how those designs become real jewelry, to how to use an acid test to tell different grades of gold (14K vs. 18K etc.). The shop's owner generously let each Girl Scout pick out a sterling sliver charm. We had a great experience - the shop is charming, the jewelry was beautiful, the knowledge was deep, and the owners were kind. read more

I has my engagement ring (and matching wedding band) custom made here. We really had a great experience. They have a great computer 'mock-up' program that shows you pictures of your ring from lots of different angles and can be done over email. We tweaked the ring countless times in the computer program until it was PERFECT and they were happy to keep going over and over again with the alterations. They gave us lots of options and a catalogue with all the different settings available. They searched and hand picked the diamond exactly to our specifications. They did exactly as we asked. The finished product was so beautiful. We go back in for cleanings from time to time and we like the ladies in the shop! They are super friendly! The experience and their work was something we were truly happy with and I look forward to using them again. read more

I found about the Gold Connection from my cousin (from Sugar Land) when I complained I had some charms I wanted added to my James Avery charm bracelet...but they would not add, since they were not their charms. When I was there to have them do my charms, I asked if they could re-furbish my 37-year old 18K Florentine wedding ring (had worn off on the sides & backside after all these years). They did an amazing job on my ring & my bracelet & all my 'old' charms looks gorgeous! Last week I took them an alabaster ring I had purchased in Volterra, Italy - wasn't expensive...just loved it. It had a silver 'bar' in the center, which had fallen off & I lost. I asked if they could replace with another sterling silver bar - yes, they could & did. I am so happy - I have the ring I love and have already received so many compliments. They are fair in their pricing for repairs - they do an amazing job! I will go no where else!
