This review is long over due. I finally got back to town from vacation and I have been trying to play catch up with all my check-ins. Noni Vita is a local gem in Manteca. It's located in an industrial area and I'm so happy my family asked to have Italian for this dinner. Julia was our server and was awesome! I appreciated her patience, suggestions, her attention to detail and sense of humor. Service as a whole was top tier here. We got there just in time before their dinner rush. After we ordered the dining room, bar and patio filled up. I had a Cali Squeeze blood orange brew on tap. It was perfectly chilled and perfect on this hot day. We ordered a meatball sub as an appetizer. Oh my goodness, this a must if you are a meatball fan. It was perfect and marinara didn't give me instant heartburn. For entrées our kids ordered chicken alfredo, hubby ordered their Tuscan Siena special and I had to try their steak sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. My steak sandwich had a lot of meat in it, but it was a little dry for my liking. The bread was dry, no condiments, just some onions. We took the leftovers back to our hotel and I picked the steak out and had it with some mustard as a snack. That was more satisfying. We did help our kids eat their chicken alfredo and I enjoyed it with some extra pepper. Next time I'm in Manteca, I will be back for a meatball sub and their fries. I'm so sad I didn't come back for another one and a cold one before leaving, but we'llbe back. This cozy local gem is family friendly, serve great Italian food and their prices are fair. Went for the first time to see what all the hype was about after seeing so many posts in the Manteca FB groups. Honestly, I wasn't that impressed. I had the Caesar salad and traditional ravioli, and my husband had the house salad and fettuccine alfredo. The Caesar salad was okay, but I personally think Retro Pie makes a better one. The ravioli was just eh - nothing to really brag about. The sauce tasted like it had a bit too much Italian seasoning for my taste, which gave it a very earthy flavor that kind of overpowered the dish. My husband's fettuccine alfredo was unfortunately pretty bland. The pasta itself didn't have much flavor, and anyone who cooks pasta knows you're supposed to season the water so the pasta absorbs some flavor while cooking. That was definitely missing here. That said, I will give them credit for their wine selection. They had a nice variety, which you don't always see at smaller mom-and-pop spots, so that was a pleasant surprise. The customer service was also good. Overall, the food was average for me. I've definitely had better Italian food, so I'm not quite sure what all the hype is about. read more

I visited this place with my girlfriend and her family. Upon entering, the staff was very nice. I will start with the fact that we showed up 45 minutes before closing time, which I know is not ideal. My girlfriend ordered the ravioli and I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. They were out of a few things that my girlfriend's family ordered, which is reasonable considering the time we showed up. I am giving three stars because the staff was great, but the food was bland. I am not a local. I traveled to Manteca from Sonoma County, so I feel like I have a pretty good idea on Italian food. When I lived in Philadelphia, there were 150 mom-and-pop Italian restaurants available, some with grandma cooking in the kitchen. The weak didn't survive and the strong were glorious. Gnocchi at Christmas and Linguine alla Vongole most other times. The Clam Sauce was real. Here I am back in California, and the last time I had Italian food, I was in The Tenderloin. Now, we have two Italian restaurants in town. The one with "noni" in the name has to be amazing. I wanted to take some special people out to eat and I've been searching for something special. We found the place. It's been several different restaurants from what I understand. I looked for the soul food restaurant when it was here. We looked at the menu. I was disappointed almost immediately. I selected the steak sandwich and fries. I was hoping for "Italian Beef" taste. My friends chose Fettucine Alfredo, and one of those was the kids portion because she doesn't eat a lot. There were several variations of ravioli but I was surprised at the lack of recipes. There seemed to be only one person working the place and one person cooking. Service was notably slow at 4 in the afternoon. The salad that came with the adult-sized Fettucine Alfredo was delivered quickly and looked fresh. After a reasonable amount of time, the rest of the food arrived. It looked as though everything was carefully prepared. As I tried to eat my sandwich, I almost choked on the large pieces of meat within the hard bread. I tried a few more bites and gave up. I didn't even finish the fries. One of the friends asked for more Alfredo sauce and they had brought a small bowl. I tasted that and it was bland, sadly. Perhaps, it was on a diet. She had me try the pasta and it was cooked a bit much. The server came to see how we were doing as we were finished and she was very kind, asking me if I didn't like the sandwich. I tried not to be a Karen about it. She asked me if I wanted a substitute to take with me. I said that a little ravioli might be good. She took the sandwich off the bill but let us take it to someone else. She brought a whole ravioli dinner and didn't charge for that at all, either. I was looking for 6 ravioli in sauce. I got a whole meal. That was excellent customer service. Maybe you'll like their food. There are possibilities. I'm sad that it wasn't for me. read more

I'll explain my 4/5 towards the end. But first, the highlights. The sheer fact that the wait time was an hour and a half on a Wednesday, should tell you how popular this place is. It's very small, but it's quaint. The menu is very small, which I personally LOVE. To me, this means they recognize their strong dishes, the kitchen isn't overly crowded, and everything is fresh. The service was very good, everyone was hustling. The Mac and cheese was amazing and the soup was 10/10. The flavor was great in the beef bake, however not a lot of beef was found. I had the traditional ravioli with meat sauce and it was really good. The portions are rather large and the bruschetta, although delish, was complicated to eat due to the size. Most of the balsamic glaze ended up on my nose as I tried to navigate a bite. We were way too full for dessert, so I'll have to go back to give that a try. read more

We needed someplace to eat after our show at the Gallo. My wife found Noni Vita on yelp and I proceeded to head that direction. It was a surprise that it was located in what I would call a commercial area with most of the businesses closed on a Saturday night. However, when we got to the restaurant, the parking lot was pretty full. They have indoor and patio seating available. Because we didn't have the dog with us, we opted to sit inside. There's a small bar with about seven stools and rest of the dining room is tables. The menu is not huge but there was enough to choose from. We both just wanted something simple and having a small menu made our lives easier. The one thing that surprised us was that both of our meals came with House Salads. We wanted to try what others had said was their homemade Blue Cheese Dressing and were going to split a salad but now we didn't have to! Service was friendly and several servers checked on us throughout our visit. Our main server was also kind enough to give me a soda refill in a to-go cup to help me stay alert during the drive home. The only "miss" was that no one asked if we wanted dessert, which we may have been convinced to have even though it was obvious that we didn't need it. All three dishes that we had rated 5*'s. Thought about getting the lasagna for Wednesday special but its a 3 cheese one and I like my lasagna meaty so I didnt try. this is our second time there. The plan is really small but does have an outdoor section with heaters. We sat inside on a Saturday night and it was busy (they close early so be aware). We each got something new and it was delicious. The good is always hot, fresh and full of flavor. The main "server", her name starts with a T, is awesome! What a hidden gem! My wife had met a friend for lunch here and after she told me about the food I had to try it. We had lunch there and it was fantastic. We both had the ravioli which comes with a perfectly toasted piece of garlic bread. My grandmother was from Italy and the meat sauce tasted like the sauce she used to make. That made my day! The salad surprised me. It was basic but the blue cheese dressing was spectacular. I really enjoy getting a good blue cheese dressing. It tasted like it was homemade. The service was on point. It's just a hole in the wall type of place so the decor is basic. There is a patio area, but it was too hot to eat there. Definitely have to go back and try some other pastas. Came here to have a quick bday dinner for my mom during our trip to Great Wolf Lodge. We were looking up places with good reviews and this stood out. We are so glad we came! They were busy and for good reason and totally worth the wait. They make their raviolis fresh and in house (I used to gm a restaurant that made their own pasta so I knew this is what I had to get) and so I got the mushroom ravioli in the garlic alfredo sauces and omg they were amazing. My parents split a sausage penne bake and my husband had one of their specials, the shrimp scampi. Everyone was so pleased, especially our 9 year old who had sorbet, and our server Alyssa was great. If you come here, don't worry about the wait. It went faster than quoted and was worth it. First time dining here. We were seated promptly and service was good. We both ordered the chicken parmigiana and it arrived pretty quickly. Our salads were very good, the French bread was ok ,the raviolis were very tasty and the chicken parmigiana looked fabulous but was a little dry so we asked for a side of sauce and it made it delicious. Overall it was a nice dining experience except when we paid our bill, we were surprised to see a credit card surcharge! I eat out a lot but i don't leave many reviews on here bc I'm lazy. This spot is worth the write though. It is probably one of the best Italian Restaurants around. I enjoy the traditional Lasagna and Ravioli here most, but the Fettuccine Alfredo on Fridays hit nicely as well. Some of the dishes come with garlic bread and a side of salad. Portion sizes are very fulfilling. My fav is probably the Traditional Ravioli w a side of 2 meatballs. They also have wine if you're interested in drinking and not driving. The service is on point. The staff is consistently positive and upbeat, it's quite impressive how frequently they check-in despite it being so busy. Esp during evening time, there may be a waitlist bc it can get rly packed. Went on a Wednesday (Lasagna night) I was looking forward to the Lasagna but they were sold out by the time we got there which was later then we'd normally go to dinner on a weeknight. My only criticism is there didn't seem to be a hostess stand when you walk in. The place is small and crowded with tables. People were walking in and crowding around the people dining at their tables, with no real place to check in with a hostess and no real please to stand and wait for your table. I got the shrimp scampi which had wonderful flavor however the shrimp was overcooked so rubbery which was disappointing, my husband got the fettuccine with chicken and his chicken was very dry and he never complains about his food. I was definitely sad to see the restaurant close that used to be at this location, but was intrigued to see that an Italian spot opened up, as it feels Manteca has generally been lacking in that area. I came in and sat at the bar to order to go. Service was friendly. They were out of a couple of the wines on the menu and seemed to have more available that weren't on menu, so be sure to peek on the back counter to see what they actually have. For dinner I ordered the Mangia, Mangia plate, which included chicken parm, pasta and a salad. I also ordered a half order of the baked Mac & cheese with jalapeno. The chicken parm, I liked the seasoning, but the chicken was a touch on the dryer side for my liking. Chicken parm, however, isn't a dish I frequent, so perhaps it's supposed to be more that way since it's pounded to be a thinner cut. I like that the garlic bread was soft, but I was looking for it to pack more flavor. I dipped it through my remaining pesto sauce instead. The pesto pasta was creamy but I'd consider it to be pretty on par with other options in the area. The half size of Mac and cheese was a generous portion. It was topped with ham, jalapeno and what looked almost like French fry bits (I think maybe bread crumbs?) I think this is something I'd order again, but definitely wouldn't go any bigger than the half size. I barely finished half of that as it was! (I ate half of everything since I ordered bigger than I was actually having tummy room for.) I'd like to come back and try the ravioli. All in all I'd say a good spot to checkout that's on par with other area options, but a more limited menu. (Limited only in comparison to other Italian places.) I'd go more 3.5 than 3. Called 2 days in advance to reserve a table for a saturday dinner at 5pm and was told to call 30mins before on the day of to confirm the reservation and I did. We arrived at 5pm, told them I have reservation. They told me need to wait because everybody came in at the same time, which is not our fault since we have a reservation and still not seated as expected and felt that it's our fault to arrive at the time that others did though I have reservation. We waited about 10mins to be seated, and they sat us in the patio which there were 3 tables empty. We ordered Spicy Sausage Penne with Caesar salad & garlic bread, Traditional Ravioli w/house salad & garlic bread, Kids Spaghetti with Meat sauce and Kids Fettuccine Alfredo, White Sangria and their special dessert Hot Honey Peach Cheesecake. Sorry I didn't plan for this review to be as long as it was. Maybe I rambled and possibly went too into detail. I had first tried them when they just had a truck and was very underwhelmed. I heard from my dad that they had opened a brick and mortar spot. His friends had highly recommended it so I decided to give them a shot. I came on a Wednesday so I ordered their Lunch Special Lasagna; I chose the Chicken Alfredo. It comes with a salad and bread. I also ordered a side of Traditional ravioli with their bolognese. On to the review. It was crazy packed in there. Considering it's in an obscure location away from all major streets with no busy stores, I wouldn't have expected tit to be so busy around lunch time. A group had fully reserved their covered patio(?) space and they had a big group out there. The main dining room and bar were essentially full, save a few bar seats. I didn't have to wait more than maybe 5 minutes to be seated. It did take about maybe 10 minutes til my server was able to bring me a menu. But I can't fault her there because that's just how busy it was. And she was very apologetic about the wait times too. After placing my order it was maybe around 10-15 minutes until I got my food so not too long of a wait. The food: As I said, the lunch special comes with salad and bread. My food came out and I never received the salad. It wasn't until I was about to eat that I realized I never got my salad. I wasn't about to wait for a salad to eat first because my food would have gotten cold. The bread was decently toasted and came buttered. It just tasted as if they used an unsalted clarified butter. Maybe I'm wrong though and it was just drowned out by the pasta. The Chicken Alfredo Lasagna (All lasagnas served only on Wednesdays), was recommended by my server. To say I didn't care for it would be a tad generous. The alfredo was a little salty, broken and almost grainy. I will say that the chicken was so tender and moist though. As for the ravioli with meat sauce, it was OK. I'm not quite sure what it was ingredient wise but there's something about the flavor that just didn't do it for me. On to dessert, I decided against ordering anything because none of their offerings were house made. General notes: They are VERY generous with their portions, especially considering that the lasagna was a lunch special and the ravioli was an added side. They didn't skimp out at all on the bread either. I did say that the salad never came, but I'm there may have been a communication issue there. My server said that I could do a side of ravioli for a charge, but I'm not sure if that was really supposed to be an upgrade on the salad or an add on. Parking was a little tough but I think that's because of that very large group. I don't see that being an issue most days. Final thoughts: All things considered, as negative as everything may sound, I would gladly give them another try. My server was busting her butt in a full house. I'm sure the kitchen was working as fast as they could too. Factoring in their current 4 star rating as well, I feel they deserve the benefit of the doubt. read more

So I didn't take photos , but the place is in a secluded section of Manteca and I love that. The service from placing order on phone until pick up was perfect. The inside looks cozy and welcoming. I truly enjoyed the chicken parm sandwich and fries. I also had a meatball wedge(sandwich) later on and that too was great. Being from New York I have high standards towards any chicken cutlet or meatball wedges but these both exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be back when in Manteca. You could just tell, the sauce was creamy and garlicy. It came with garlic bread and a salad (caesar or house). The prices were fair and worth the amount of food you got. The place is definitely hidden, we had to use maps to find it. It's small but cozy and offers some outdoor seating. We were immediately greeted and seated when we walked in, the person who helped us was nice. He asked if it was our first time and recommended some dishes + told us the specials. Everything was great about the service, besides the fact that we felt a bit rushed towards the end. We were only about halfway done and were asked if we wanted a to-go box.
