The food here is so tasty and the service is great. This is our office staple at least once a week.

Everyone that had the Pizza thought it was a very good. Side of french fries was very large. Two kids devoured it by the time I got to take a picture. My mother had this spaghetti and meatballs and liked it a lot. She enjoyed the meatballs himself as they had a lot of flavor and she could see the ingredients inside such as parsley and garlic. My sister enjoyed her angel hair and Alfredo sauce as well as they both enjoyed the soup. Super salad comes with your dinner and as you can see, the soup was very large. My husband had a house salad, and he added blackened shrimp, which came with a good amount of shrimp, avocado, raisins, and almonds. He liked the salad very much. I ordered a special the gnocchi with marinara sauce, and burrata . Overall, the sauce was very good, but I disliked how much sauce was given. For me, I felt like it was too much sauce and my pasta was swimming in it. I would request less sauce the next time I go. Overall, the price was not bad at all. We all enjoy our meal and every single one of us brought food home. Oh, on the sidenote, a good amount of their soups are made vegetarian. This is difficult to find so if you are looking for a vegetarian soup, they told me the escarole and beans, pasta, , pasta fagiol and the lentils were all done.

Milani Italian Bakery & Café is an Italian Pastry Bakery that opened in Northford, Connecticut in…read more2003. It was founded by husband and wife Italian immigrants Emilio and Marina Milani. After 25 years in the bakery business in the Italian village of Moricone (outside of Rome), the Milanis decided to leave their homeland and share their culinary Italian culture in the United States. After arriving in 1993, the couple opened a gourmet coffee shop named 'Coffee Island Cafe' where they specialized in sandwiches, panini, and other baked goods. 10 years later, they opened their own Italian bakery in the center of Northford. Emilio comes from a long line of classical Italian bakers and credits his father Tullio for teaching him the craft. The Milanis' son, also named Tullio, works alongside them at the bakery as well. Some of the specialties at this 'pasticceria' include cakes, pies, cannoli, sfogliatelle, lobster tails, bughinotti, almond tarts, cream puffs, éclairs, zeppole, various Italian cookies, panettone, hot cross buns, stuffed breads, Italian bread, gelato, and Italian coffee. My family and I recently stopped in at Milani's to get some delicious pastries. Although we've lived nearby for years, we had only just heard of them and wanted to give them a try. We were greeted by Marina when we walked in. She was very friendly and we chatted for a while. We decided to get a box of delicious Florentine cookies, as well as a large Sprinkle cookie for our older son. I also ordered their Chocolate Lemon Pie, which is my favorite kind of pie in the world! Although I've tried several Chocolate Lemon Pies from various area bakeries over the years, we thought that Milani's take on it was one of the better ones! Marina also insisted that we sample some of their cannoli before we left. They were delicious! We are lucky to have some excellent Italian bakeries in the Greater New Haven area, and Milani's is no exception!

Got a combo with eggs, sausage, home fries, and pancakes. The eggs were outstanding. Best in a restaurant in a long time. My banana crunch pancakes were s one and done. They were tasty but would get a different flavor next time. Now, the ultimate no-no was my burnt home fries. I can't believe they actually served them to me. The waitress said some order them like this but I most certainly did not. She brought out new ones but still burnt residue on most. I will skip those next time.

So they did have them but sadly not southern style with breakfast sausage. I guess this is Italian style as it was made with sweet Italian sausage. Good not what I was looking and hoping for. I've never seen so much sausage in a breakfast gravy but actually it was too much. Not enough gravy to soak into or sop up with the biscuits. Biscuits tend to be dry these included and need the sauce. My wife got the mango stuffed French Toast. In fact she was the first to order. These were different the portions generous and good. The staff was friendly prices ok. We'll be back but not for the B&G. I guess mine are still the beyond the state. Unless someone has suggestions.

Onto the drinks and food which were so delicious and truly enjoyable. I got the Beachy Bee Iced Latte special, which is a honey vanilla latte with a coconut cold foam and toasted coconut on top (simply divine)! My fiancé got the cappuccino which was made just to his liking, and he's a coffee connoisseur. For food, I had the Bumble, which I highly recommend, with scrambled eggs, subbed with the gluten free sourdough bread (+$2 up-charge) and cheddar instead of American cheese. It's served all day and had so much flavor with that garlic butter, and the seasoned steak. Yum! If you are gluten free like me, you will appreciate that they have the gluten free sourdough bread or a gluten free wrap to substitute with. My partner had the Basic Bee with bacon and thought it was flavorful with light and fluffy scrambled eggs that complimented the bacon well. Overall, I would really recommend this place if you're looking for a breakfast or lunch in Wallingford!

I normally try to give places the benefit of the doubt, but our experience at The Bees Knees Bistro…read morein Wallingford was honestly very disappointing and upsetting. My family and I arrived while it was raining outside with our young daughters in strollers, expecting to sit down for a meal and get out of the weather. Instead, we were told we could not come in with the strollers and essentially felt unwelcome the moment we walked through the door. As parents of babies who are still too young to sit safely in high chairs on their own, the strollers are not optional for us , they are necessary. We were not being disruptive, rude, or inconsiderate. We were simply trying to have a meal as a family. Rather than attempting to accommodate us or show any understanding, we were left feeling like having children made us an inconvenience. What made the situation even worse was the fact that it was pouring outside. Any level of kindness or flexibility would have gone a long way. Instead, we felt embarrassed, frustrated, and honestly shocked by the lack of compassion and customer service. Families with young children already face enough challenges going out in public, and experiences like this make it even harder. We ended up leaving and taking our business somewhere else that was far more welcoming and understanding toward families. It is disappointing because we were genuinely looking forward to trying this restaurant, but first impressions matter. A restaurant does not need to be "kid-centered" to still treat parents and babies with basic respect and decency. I completely understand that restaurants may have space limitations or policies, but there is a respectful and compassionate way to handle situations like this. Instead, the experience came across as cold and dismissive. There are many restaurants in the area that are happy to accommodate families, and moving forward those are the businesses I will continue to support. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to families with infants or children who still require strollers or extra accommodations. I wont be going back and giving them .you business, nor will I be recommending this place to anyone. Totally rude and discrimination towards those with babies. I did not feel cherished like their website says every guest is. Its sad because this will and im sure does effect their business. I will never give them my business after yesterday. No attempts at accommodating us or evening offering to let us sit outside, lazy staff, but yet there were 3 teenage girls taking names for the wait list. What a joke.
