I came in around 6:20 to initially use the bathroom I had just got out of working overnight and having classes. As I went in a seen a sign saying it's only for paying customers which I didn't mind except for the fact that the old lady was being incredibly nasty and rude to me. I needed to go badly so I put up with it anyways and ordered and went to the bathroom. If I didn't need to use the bathroom I would've left right then because her attitude was so foul. On my way out I was told I had to pay a minimum of 10, somehow 2 eggs costed 6 but 3 is 10? Then I told her I really don't want to add more food then she quickly said she's going to call the cops for dining and dashing even though I didn't dine, I was just put off by her disgusting attitude and didn't feel safe. She also tried to be scary by saying it's a felony when it's actually a misdemeanor. The only reason why I paid for them is because some battles aren't worth it and the gentlemen making the eggs seemed chill so I didn't want to waste his labor. If her attitude wasn't so rude I probably would've ordered more and stayed and had a full breakfast. But the Lady was just so disgusting. I wouldnt even recommend stepping into this place. She thinks calling the cops is going to scare me when I know my rights. She'll be the one going to jail for filing a false police report. People with her type of demeanor should be exposed no one should pay her a dime. read more

I finally made it here after living in Meriden the last 30 or so years! The place is definitely small and tight. The decor is cute and there are booths lining one side, and a long counter. The menu has so many choices, and I ordered an egg salad club with sweet potato fries. This had to be the fluffiest egg salad I've ever had, and the sweet potato fries were really good. My dad ordered pancakes with 2 eggs and home fries. He said that his breakfast was very good. I would recommend this place if you want a decent-sized and good breakfast/brunch. It's not nice and cozy due to its really small size (which is smaller than what I would call cozy), but if you're looking for good food over comfort, this would deliver. I have been to this privately owned diner a few times. It's a local spot. The owner is always there and KNOWS the regulars orders. You can literally watxh it happen. The staff is friendly. My food has been on point every time, exactly what I ordered and relatively quick to the table. They have a large many and specials, but I'm a sucker for routine. I typically get the French toast and a egg Sammy (as picturee). Sooo good! There are booths and a long counter (which is great for couples and singles). It can be a little loud because it's so busy, but that's a great problem to have and a sign of a great place! Will definitely be back! So glad I found this little place in town. read more

I hesitate to give this place a review because it's already so busy but if you drive by and it's not packed, definitely come on in. It's a great little spot! I LOOOOOVE breakfast. Ok If you are looking for white table cloths with folded linen napkins this ain't it. What you will find is a great deal on well prepared comfort food. The servers were attentive, quick and friendly. The diner itself is a piece of forgotten history that should be maintained and treasured. The wife and I did the eggs Benedict. She had the hash and I had the black stone. Just moved to the area, and of course Googled breakfast/diners. Olympos Diner popped up, I looked at the menu and prices. All breakfasts were under 10.00. I ordered to go. I picked up my order, and it was $25.00 and change, and the waitress actually asked if I want to leave a tip. I paid, I tipped, then quietly let her know on line, its less than half. She tried to come up with a good reason, and I would have just said oh, ok...until the owner piped in, loudly, and caused a scene in front of other customers. I took my food and left. I always leave Olympos Diner satisfied and happy. I went there this morning with my loved one. We always try to mix it up with savory and sweet dishes that we can share. We decided on an omelette with mushrooms, bacon, onion, and broccoli. Always cooked to perfection with the cheddar perfect melted and always delicious. They had homemade corned beef as a special which was outrageously good. It was hands down the best homemade corned beef hash I've had. Another special on the menu was banana bread french toast. The banana bread was thick so it perfectly grasped the batter and remained moist inside. The exterior had a slight crunch. The flavor was not overly sweet, perfect amount of banana, and left me wanting more with each bite. Travelled an hour to the area for apple picking and wanted some breakfast/lunch. I am picky so looked at the reviews and decided to try them with my vegetarian hubby. He ordered the veggie burger with coleslaw and fries. I ordered the French toast with bacon. The coffee was amazingly good, bacon was crunchy and plentiful and The French toast was OMG good! My husband's French fries were better than any other fries we have had in many years (even better than In & Out's which I love). He even loved his veggie burger which is usually not the case. Driving to the New Haven train station this morning, I missed my exit for the Cromwell Diner. Having worked in Meriden for a while, I remembered a small diner on E. Main Street in Meriden, so we headed over there instead. What a nice little place the Olympos DIner is! Absolutely wonderful friendly cheerful service- from the hostess to our waiter. None of the perfunctory small talk, but genuine witty conversations with delightful folks!! Service? I saw a waitress deliver a hot chocolate with whipped cream to a little girl who polished off the whipped cream in five minutes. A few minutes later she came back with the can of whipped cream to refill it and added a splash of chocolate sauce on top !! How's that for customer service! We had the standard fares for breakfast- pancakes, french toast, eggs, some ham, sausage, bacon, and home fries, Everything was excellent. And the coffee was exceptionally good too.
