I have been going to this location for YEARS for their miso salmon. It is always so good, I literally used to go twice a month for it. Lately, every time we go it's one issue after another. Burnt food, undercooked food, missing food, etc. Expensive prices for how the food has declined in quality. We kept giving the place a chance thinking, maybe this time is just a fluke but this week was our last straw and we unfortunately won't be back. Ordered take out including my miso salmon. Got to the car and looked through my order. Not only is my $35 miso salmon portion gotten incredibly small compared to previous, but it was missing the MISO! No miso sauce at all. I had to go back in- it took the kitchen 20 minutes to whip it up which caused the other food to get soggy. We stopped going to Southbury due to the quality as well. My friend wanted to come here for lunch, so my friend and I ended up dining here. I was interested, as I had never been here before, but I had heard about it. The restaurant concept is about aviation since the owner's logo resembles Amelia Earhart. While the owners were shopping one day, they came across an 18-by-12 radio-controlled Faulkner airplane that a man had built for another restaurant, which no longer exists. The owners liked it and had the builder recreate the airplane, three-quarters of its actual size, to be used in their restaurant with the Maggie character. Maggie McFly's offers an extensive menu, so there is something for everyone. I ordered the Sriracha Habanero Chicken Wings and the street tacos. I ordered a Fried Avocado, Barbacoa, and Baja street Tacos, which came with Rice and Beans. My friend ordered a Fried Avocado appetizer and a Salmon. The street tacos were okay. They stuffed the Tacos to the max, but I felt the meat inside them didn't have that slow-cooked meat taste. The meat inside the Taco was okay, but it needed more love. The Fried Avocado Taco lacked flavor because how much flavor could you get from an avocado? The Chicken Wings were the best thing I had. They were crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The menu and beer offerings are very similar to the other Maggie McFly's restaurants. I had the Buffalo Chicken Salad, which included a large amount of chicken, and I had enough to take a second meal home. The wife had the French onion soup that was beautifully presented and of large size. She also had the Chinese Chicken Salad, and that had a generous enough portion to also take a second meal home. We each had a glass of wine and got out of here for $76. This place is a great date venue, as well as a great place for parties and entertaining guests. I really really used to like this place as a casual place to grab a bite with friends. Went last week for drinks and apps- service was slow and 2 of the 3 apps (potstickers, colli flower bites and sliders) were ice cold). Didn't send them back for fear we would wait another 25 minutes. We weren't the only folks getting frustrated- and this was a slow time in early afternoon on a weekday. Also, as a testament to poor management and training, there was an empty paper soup cup top sitting next to our table in a heavy traffic area when we got there that was still there when we left- at least a dozen employees walked right by it and ignored it. read more

We had a good meal at this location with our college kiddos home on break. While the decor inside is cool with an airplane and fake palm tree, it is also incredibly dusty which is a bit off putting. My good friend suggested this spot for a birthday dinner and it was fabulous. The menu is ginormous so be prepared for a little analysis paralysis as you figure things out. We are outside on a Tuesday evening in late August and everything was pleasant. Our wait staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. The food arrived in good time and was delicious. I went with the lobster bisque bread bowl and it was freaking amazing! There was a piece of fresh lobster in it and the bowl was crunchy and soft. I was not disappointed. For my main I just had a salad because I knew I wanted the lava cake for dessert. The side Cesar salad was fresh and tasty and the cake was decadent. This is a casual restaurant with a unique vibe inside. The ambience is really neat. I come here a few times a year for quick work dinners. This is the restaurant that if you can't find something you want to eat.....you are incredibly picky. Their menu rivals a cheese cake factory with its breadth of offerings. This last time we stated with the deviled eggs and Buffalo cauliflower. They are both solid but not exceptional. For an entree I had a spare rib in a house Cabernet sauce over butternut squash risotto. The risotto was excellent but the spare rib was over cooked and tough. The absolute WORST restaurant I've been to probably in my life. It is DIRTY and literally gives you the creeps sitting in there looking at thick dust, cobwebs, sticky tables, and dirty floors. The bathroom is also disgusting and the floor was filled with water, definitely gave outhouse vibes. The service was horrendous! We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 1 kids meal. Our appetizers arrived 10 minutes after our entrees-help it make sense! There was no apologies, no explanations nothing. My husband ordered the brisket meal based on the server's recommendation. TOTAL fail! It looked absolutely disgusting! My husband took one bite and gave it back (which he never does, he usually sticks it out). He also didn't even receive the correct sides he ordered, also with zero acknowledgment. My toddler who loves burgers, took her second bite and spit it out and said, "yuck mommy!" Knowing she was hungry I kept trying to force her to eat with no avail. Finally I tasted it myself. Absolutely disgusting! The burger was hard, rubbery, dry, and tasteless! My fish and chips was ok, frozen fish and tasteless fries, although I asked for tater tots, again no acknowledgment of the error. The egg rolls sampler was filled with so much oil it was all over the plate! GROSS. 10 minutes after all the food was dropped off I took my daughter to the car so she could eat the snacks in there because she was hungry while my husband paid. We definitely would NEVER return. I want to know what I did wrong to the person who gave me these gift cards to go to this location and have a horrible experience. First the calamari was soggy outside and rubbery in the inside. I ordered fish and chips. The fries were over cooked and hard, the fish was ok at first then tasted dry and the cole slaw was dry. The only thing I had that was good was the Stella Beer. my wife ordered the lobster roll she didn't eat all of it and her fries and slaw were the same as mines. Alex that was taking care of us was polite and working hard. I know none of this is his fault. I think he noticed something was wrong because our feelings changed on being there. I went to this location of Maggie McFly's with my husband and another couple. We initially had plans to go to a different restaurant but once we got there, it was closed and decided to come here. We had a really enjoyable experience. The wait staff was intentive and refilled our drink. I felt like breakfast and it was during the brunch time on a Sunday so I got the French toast. I thought it was very good. My husband likes lobster so he got three lobster tacos. He was very happy with it. My friends husband got the tacos as well, however, he got two of the fried cod and one lobster. He thought they were all good but preferred the cod. My friend got this bowl with chicken and all these different things. She thought it was really good. She was only able to eat some of it and took the rest home for dinner. I am a frequent patron of Maggie Mcflys and at numerous locations throughout CT. This particular visit was of my typical experiences at Maggie's with good service, good atmosphere and great food. However, when it came time to pay the bill at the end of the evening my waitress Natalie came to the table to get the check and my credit card to pay the bill. After a bit of waiting, she came back and when I opened the check presenter only the receipt was in there, not my Credit card that I paid with. I asked my waitress where my card went to which she could not give me an answer other them "maybe it fell out, let me check". She returned later saying that she could not find it. She then told me to "just cancel it and get a new one". I was completely upset at the lack of regard for my situation not to mention I cannot understand how my card just disappeared from the register to the table. This credit card is also one of the heavy metal cards not the plastic cards, so I know from experience that if it drops to the floor, it is quite loud. I feel that she did not take the time to thoroughly look for the card, nor take any type of responsibility for its disappearance. Needless to say, the whole experience was something to be desired and put a bad taste in my mouth. I'm concerned with how this happens when it's the waitress job to take the payment and return it to the table, where did it get misplaced in the process. I do not think that I would personally return to this location after this encounter. **update** I have spoken to a manager on the phone the day after the incident. She was very rude on the phone. I had let her know about the situation from last night where a server ran my card to pay my bill then returned with receipts for payment but no card. She rudely cut me off and said "yea yea, we have it come get it whenever at the bar area". She made it seem as if I were the one who misplaced my card. That is unacceptable. She did not even apologize or offer any resolution to the situation. I will most definitely not be returning to this location. I am very disappointed in how this situation was handled. read more
