But here's the deal - they don't really carry youth or…read morelittle kid helmets (5 year old size), nor does any other stores in the area, but their website does. So I ordered 4 to try on. This is for a four year old who has never worn a full face helmet, we needed to try a few. We went into the store and tried them when they came in, kept one and returned the others. We also bought one pair of gloves and one goggles, which we kept. I got reprimanded and warned for returning too many! Ok, I tried to do this the best way I could but if you're not going to carry that size in the store, this is how it has to work.i don't know what to say. I won't be using them again because, well, I've been warned. To the depths of the internet I go.

I started at the south county store, they had a whole wall all the way up with helmets. The sales staff helped me choose a better helmet than what I had quickly researched beforehand. They didn't have the specific color I liked in stock so I went to the St. Charles store that day too, who had the other color in stock. Both stores were very nice stores, I bought something at each. Assuming this is a multi city chain it's on par with like a REI but for motorcycles. (Compliment!) Only feedback I would give the stores, is that my trips were pricey, customers might want to check competitor prices as they go and ask if the store will match.

I needed new tires on my scooter and didn't really know who offered that service. I called a…read morespecialty scooter shop who told me they could "probably do it but most times they end up taking the scooters to Donelson's for tire balancing". So I cut out the middle person and called Donelson's directly. They let me know they had been crazy busy but would order my tires and once they were in I could drop the scooter off and they would "work it in" to get the tires done. This may seem odd but some other places I called wanted me to drop my scooter off that day and let it sit til they could get to it - could be 4-6 weeks they said. Donelson told me it's prob be a week or so once the tires were in. They ordered the tires, called me and let me know. I dropped the scooter off and they had the replacement done in about 2 days. There was a snafu with the wrong tires being ordered and them needing to put a different set on (my fault as I provided the tire size). Even with that taking place it still only took them 2 days. I had paid in advance for the tires and we had to rework the bill due to the tire swapout, but even that was handled with grace and I paid the difference. They also performed an inspection for me while they had my scooter. Overall nice experience - especially compared to the run around I got from some other places when calling around. Reason I took off 1 star is noone there knows anything outside of their specific dept. So on 1 call they transferred me multiple times - from parts to inquire about the tires, then to service to find out how much service cost, then back to parts because I asked another tire related question, then back to service to talk about the inspection. It'd be nice if they were aware enough of each area to speak to it.

Because of that I was able to get a refund. Even though he couldn't put them on I appreciated his care and patience in the situation. I will continue to patronize Donelson Cycles for my bike needs! He found just the right bike for me and even allowed me to pay $50 a month until I was paid off and I had a few extra bells and whistles done to it. They've brought me along so that I don't consider myself the 'crunch on the pedals,' inexperienced cyclist I was... The repair shop is efficient and reasonably priced for the quality of work done. They even have taken the time to show me a variety of things I can do on my own! All of the staff have certifications hanging in the shop & have been SAG on the local rides I've been a part of. (Which I am sure they would rather be riding in!) John, the owner, has a laid back demeanor and really spent a good amount of time with me before I purchased my bike. Rather than up-selling me more bike than I needed (or could afford) he assisted me in finding the right Trek for my needs. I am not a racer, and those days have passed me by - I just enjoy riding and put in from 20 to 60 miles on a normal day. As I was upgrading from a hybrid to a road bike, I cannot emphasize enough how happy I am that I made the move to the 'right' bike for me... I've found their accessories pricing to be equivalent with what you can find on-line as I use RedLaser to compare prices. I would rather support the local shop than ship from who knows where... If they don't have something in the store, they are happy to order it for you. I ended up with a bike rack for my car for less than I could find on-line, no extra cost for them to order it special for me. (Of course, I couldn't use the off the shelf, "one-size fits most," generic racks with my car!) The shop also has group rides, and they are great in keeping the group together at a pace that pushes you but doesn't kill you. I am quite sure that they are capable of maintaining a much faster pace, but they have tailored the rides around who shows up. While they won't offer advice unless asked for it, they have provided great tips and improved my skills each time I ask for input. I went in during one of the special national sales to replace my tires and shoes after a year of use, and rather than taking my money and giving me new stuff - they advised against it as all still had a good amount of life left in them! You can also find your Frisbee Golf needs here! Perfect for the course at Capaha Park. While the products they offer are high quality, the prices are reasonable, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly, I think that the thing I hold in highest regard is their integrity.

On 5-03-2014 I purchased a new 2014 Street Glide Special "BY MISTAKE" from Surdyke's, let me explain... after I had sent several e-mails to several different dealers in my area the first response was from a sales person named J.C, the reply was after hours (that impressed me) and it wasn't a high pressure get me in the shop kind of response but more like how could he help me. After a few e-mails and a very friendly phone call from JC, (who talked to me like I was his best friend), he had me talk with his sales mgr. Joe. I had the same experience with Joe, very friendly and easy to talk with. After a short conversation we agreed on a price and I made a down payment...YAHOO.. Now the problem, I went to the Surdyke web page to see if I could find pictures of JC and Joe so I would know who I had been dealing with, that's when I realized I was talking to a shop in Festus Mo.....AW S###. I live in Indiana and thought I was dealing with a shop in southern Illinois that's 1.5 hrs. from me, Surdykes is more the 3.5 hrs. away. Ok what do I need to do to fix this as that's more miles then I want to go for service plus I wouldn't be able to spend time at shop events, at least not easley. I called Joe back and told him what I did and I hated it but needed to get my deposit back and cancel the deal. Joe was very understanding and didn't point out how stupid I must be to buy from the wrong dealer but also from the wrong state! Thank you Joe. What I really hated was this is really a shop I wanted to do business with because of the way JC and Joe worked with me, very friendly knowledgeable people. Ok, after not making me feel any worse then I already did Joe had a suggestion that if I wanted to keep the deal with Surdyke he would call the shop that I thought I was dealing with and I would do my service and warranty with them. That way it is closer to home plus I can still go back to Surdyke's any time I want to make a day trip. That's what I did, My wife Cinda and I picked up my Street Glide on Saturday, spent several hours at the shop meeting everybody and seeing the shop, again we were treated like we were the best customers that had ever been in and would always be welcomed back. I really hate that we aren't closer as the shop was full people and the staff looked like they enjoyed what they were doing. Cinda and I will be back to spend time with everybody and enjoy the area, plus when Cinda is ready to trade her 883 I will know who I'm sending my e-mail to "this time", it will be Surdykes in Festus Mo. I rate this dealer a 10+++++ PS. the shop Surdykeharley.com and the internet sales Surdyke.com are different busineseses, do not get them confused, if you do you will miss out on meeting good people that know how to treat a customer. read more

Dear Tim, During the past 10 to 15 years I have purchased on line from you without a problem. I can even remember when I purchased a rim & Tire but wanted the tire mounted before it was shipped. I called and explained my request and it was gladly take care of. However this past Christmas was a disappointment for 4 members of my family. Let me back track and tell you that my son ordered something for me for my birthday. He wanted to have it shipped to me since I live in another state. He actually called and spoke with someone who told him that the order was processed and it could not be changed. He had just placed the order so how it could it be processed, and then to make matters worse, he got it 3 weeks later. This year my wife and both sons ordered my Christmas gifts from you.( this was on my recommendation since you do give a discount) Again they tried to change the shipping address and couldn't. The items ordered by my wife and one son did not arrive prior them leaving for my second sons home. My second son who ordered from you, that package didn't arrive at his house until the day after Christmas, and we had already headed home. So needless to say everyone was disappointed not to have the ordered gifts to give to me Christmas morning. And I was equally disappointed. So there's the four, Me, my wife and 2 sons. Now to add insult to injury, both my boys have to pay to ship the late items to me, this is after they already paid shipping. My wife's gift was waiting for us when we got home on 12/27. My wife ordered the gift on 12/10, got an email 2 days later saying the order is being processed, then another email saying the order would be shipped on 12/18. It was shipped on the 12/19 and delivered late in the afternoon of 12/21. The dates for my sons orders is basically the same, maybe 2 day later in the ordering. I know your not Amazon, but I can't understand why it would take 9 days to ship an order. The last time I heard a story like this where the items didn't make it in time for Christmas, it was Toys R US, and we both know what happened to them. read more

This review is on the Surdyke Harley Davidson dealership in Festus, MO. I did not have any dealings with Surdyke.com. I live out of town, five hundred miles away from Festus, MO. I was looking for a specific bike and a search by another HD dealership showed Surdyke HD had it in stock. From the first call and conversation with a salesman to the day they loaded up my bike to ship it, everyone I came in contact with at Surdyke HD was more helpful and friendly than I have ever seen at any other dealership. They truly exceeded my expectations. Negotiating the deal was a very friendly negotiation, and after the sale they took very good care of me. Service did some work on the bike and it was done when they said it would be with great workmanship. I had some issues with a private shipping company being late, and Surdyke HD let me keep the bike there as long as I needed to. The service department was also very helpful in loading the bike up in the trailer when it finally did get shipped and with getting the security system into transport mode for the trip. The general manager, salesman, parts guy, apparel ladies and service department all took care of me like I had been a customer for years, yet it was my first time buying at Surdyke HD. I would highly recommend Surdyke's without hesitation to anyone looking for a dealership that will take care of them in all aspects of owning a Harley Davidson motorcycle (or anything else you buy there). They know what it means to take care of a customer before, during and after the sale. read more

I had ordered a security system for my 2016 Heritage Softail. The Webb site was not clear which module to order. Needless to say I got the wrong one. So I sent it back did get charged the 20% restocking fee. I felt this was unfair. I played the email game and used the useless online chat. After reading all the yelp complaints, I kept seeing Tim's name answering the feed back. I called the dealership and spoke to Tim. He was very polite and helpful. He understood the problem and told me that he was going to have an employee name John call me back. John did follow up with me and refunded the full amount so I could repurchase the correct part. They refuse to pay last check to employees at Tim Surdykes "Gold Star" Harley Davidson location when they promise to mail it in verbal contract agreement. That's 2 weeks of missing 5 days of pay which is illegal. Wages are due at the time of dismissal. Failure to pay can lead to penalties where the employer owes up to 60 days of pay. I ordered a painted part. It arrived earlier than i was expected. After installing the part and taking the protective film i realized that there is a big dent. I did not have any problems to return the part and i got the new one. Never expected any dealer to accept already installed part back. I have a Outlaw 525 that When i dropped my ATV off originally all I believed it needed was a…read moreDecompression valve and a tune up . Gary took the cover off said the decompression was good then said i needed a starter 1-way. I told him to go ahead and do it and then when back together he said it wouldnt run . I redirected him back to the decomp valve and he finally said yea it is broken and ill replace that too and adjust the valves . After 4 months of having the bike and a $500.00 bill later he calls me and says its making a horrible noise and he doesnt feel comfortable letting it go like this and wanted to charge me to pull the motor and look at everything . I went and looked at it and it did sound awful but couldnt tell where it was from . I went ahead and squared up with them as he did work on it and have the bike for awhile but still felt something was horribly wrong . After waiting a few months gathering up enough cash to take the motor and have 2nd look at it i consulted a seasoned KTM tech . Hes had the motor for 2 days and the first 2 things he finds is that the Decompression lever that broke was still in the cam channel grinding on the chain and one of the Valve adjustment nuts literally fell down the channel and was left inside the the upper end of the motor . I find it very disturbing that this was not found and at that i may have not needed a starter 1-way at all . I just feel like if i was listened to in the beginning and it was installed correctly i wouldnt have this problem. Now i have to pay to have this fully cleaned up and fixed , then hope none of the shavings from the broken decomp lever and cam bolts screw up anything inside this guy .

They looked at it the first time and did a manual regen and reset my system and I spent $450 plus on that. Within a couple miles after leaving my check engine light comes on again. Take it back in to them to replace and ERG valve. Was told that it would be between $900 and $1200 with the worst case being around $1200 if the Titanium bolts break which apparently is a norm with Ford trucks. Was told today my vehicle was ready to go and I go pick it up to find over a $2000 bill for the services that I was quoted a lot less for. I don't know much about this company as I used them because they are local, but not very happy with the lack of communication here. If I did that to a customer in my line of work, I wouldn't be in business very long. Very disappointing, and they basically had me over a barrel so nothing I could do. On top of that I know they had to test drive my car but I had over a half a tank in my truck when I dropped it off and less than a quarter of a tank when I picked it up. After charging me over $800 more than I was quoted you would've thought they would at least replaced my gas. I recommend that you watch out and get everything in writing with them. You shouldn't have to do it, but I had a weird feeling about this place and I figured after the first time I need to take it back since I had issues right away. I should've went with my feeling and took it to somebody else. You live and you learn!
