I waited a few weeks to post my review on this company. Our hot water heater went out and we had some water damage to the drywall and it was an absolute mess. I called this company because it was highly recommended on Nextdoor. They came out, got the situation assessed, and got me a quote. They were not pushy, they were friendly, and they got hired on the spot. There was a relatively new technician with the company that did some less than great work when the job was done. I called, complained, and just about wrote a bad review. Gold star was able to turn things around. They answered my frustrated calls, there was always someone to answer the phone, they communicate effectively through text and phone call. They came out and fixed everything that needed to be fixed and did what it took to make sure the job was done the way they pride themselves in the work being done. Katrina answered the phone promptly and so professionally! We had our backyard hose break off a copper valve that was connected to our main home water source. So obviously we need that fixed immediately. She assured us that she can have Chris, who has years of experience and it really shows! He was at our home within 30 minutes because Katrina said we could be his next stop. How AMAZING. They charge $79 for a service fee to come and asses the situation. Chris gave me one way that he wanted to try before doing a way that would cost way more and time. Within 25 minutes, he had installed the new pieces and fixed everything. Tested it out and we were back in business to having water in the entire home. 10/10 would recommend. Also the service charge is a one time fee (probably for a certain period of time probably not forever) as long as they have been to the home recently. After a mysterious recent leak in our guest bathroom, we had Gold Star Plumbing come out to try to find the source of the water leaking out underneath the wall and into the hallway. While they could have charged us a lot of money to tear up the whole bathroom, they took a conservative approach and had two other companies come and seek out where the leak was coming from. Our insurance company was quite happy about that. It turned out the leak was very odd and easily fixed for less than $400. Their workmanship and follow up was meticulous. We couldn't be more pleased. Very very expensive. An one hour plumbing work of soldering couple of copper pipes and putting a valve and a outdoor garden hose faucet, the bill was over $500 which does not even include the dry wall repair which I have to do now Work quality was good, technicians were experienced and well equipped. everything regarding final cost also was explained to me before starting so can't really complain but the charge of more than 450 dollar per hour (the valves and few copper pipes and pvc at Home Depot should be well less than 50 bucks) was little too much compared any common job that i know of . My certified mercedes car mechanic at the dealership even does not charge anything close to that amount for an hour let alone any other engineers that i know of and always work with in many valley projects I agreed to the price as I just wanted to get this done on that day and house was out of water supply. My recent experience with Gold Star Plumbing has been nothing short of exceptional, and I wish I could give them "6-stars" instead of 5 and here's why. They were able to complete 3 separate plumbing repairs at my house in one day, but even more impressive than that was the professionalism, expert knowledge, and willingness to come up with an alternate solution that resulted in over a 30% savings from my original estimate. As Mike and Kyle began work on replacing a leaking copper main between the main water meter and my house, they realized that modifications to the original water supply lines which were made after the home was constructed to accommodate a soft water hose bib connection could be reversed back to the original configuration intended by the home builder which would save a significant amount of money. Mike and Kyle were able to provide a new, alternate estimate to return the connections back to the original plumbing configuration which saved over 30% from the original estimate and the work turned out looking great and much simpler than what a previous homeowner had done. I cannot thank them enough for their ability to treat customers in a way that builds trust and create cost-saving solutions. I have been a Commercial General Contractor for over 34 years and have been more of a "do it yourself-er" around the house for a long time, but as I get older and my personal time becomes more valuable, I rely on experts to do a project in a timely fashion and at a fair and reasonable cost and Gold Star Plumbing has lived up to that standard. I am so glad I took the time to read the many customer reviews found online for a variety of plumbing contractors, and when I came across the many positive references for Gold Star, I felt confident that I was making the right choice. And let's not forget about the great experience that Devin provided during the initial investigation and estimating process. He was very knowledgeable and quickly determined that the water line modifications made in the past were not put in "per code" and explained the process to not only fix the leak, but also to do so in such as way that meets current plumbing code and provides a 10 year warranty. Devin's attention to detail in writing up the cost estimate, taking photographs of the three separate areas of work I needed done and providing a reasonable cost estimate allowed me to quickly make a decision and sign the contract for work to begin the next morning.
