My fried chicken sandwich was over fried, with black marks in the crumbs and on the chicken which was sadly too dried (or fried) out. The drinks were good though. Tried the rosemary latte and it has a grassy undertone and it was a unique drink. The place is small, and with signs saying for those using laptops to use the counter (but there was one guy who didn't follow this rule and took two tables even during the height of the brunch on Saturday). There was a small line for seating as there weren't many to go around. Service was great and we were helped by Amber who was sweet and helpful! read more

There's no reservations required but keep in mind that this place is a bit small inside so if it's busy there may not be seating. We arrived by 11am and still found a table. Keeping in tradition of trying places with the names of dead relatives, I'm here at Golda thinking of my grandmother. Golda is a cozy, cute gem of a place found on a busy street. My Jewish grandmother would give it 5 stars too because the food and drink we had was perfect for the start of our day in NYC. We split the Golda n Pancakes and the Spiced Home Fries. I was appreciative of the pancakes because they didn't taste gf and my reality is if I want pancakes I have to make my own so I loved being able to share them with the teen. The spiced home fries were reminiscent of a potato dish we had the night before at a French place the night before. Both were good. If I lived in the area I would be a regular. I'd been eyeing Golda for awhile now and finally made it here a few weekends ago for brunch on a Sunday. The place is well-reviewed, and I thought the food was good, but agree with some other reviews that it's not a place worth going out of your way for. I live nearly an hour's walk from Golda and don't think I will be coming back based on my experience. They do not have much seating at all for outdoor dining, and the menu is a bit limited as well. My friend got a breakfast sandwich that looked good but heavy, while I had the chia seed oatmeal. Prices are reasonable. read more

Came here for the labneh parfait and it didn't disappoint - a nice combo of sweet and tart. The service is friendly, they've got a couple of tables outdoor, and a good assortment of pastries up front. I'd definitely have the parfait again as it was a well portioned breakfast for when you're not looking to get overly stuffed. Had a lovely breakfast at Golda's with my friends. We called to make a reservation and were told that even though they don't typically accommodate reservations before 2pm, they would make one for us. Food was really tasty, I got a rose and cardamom oat milk latte and their chicken sausage and egg sandwich. Very tasty and filling. Their soup of the day was a potato soup that tasted wonderful. the space was small and they have a sign discouraging laptops, so come here to eat and for community rather than to co-work. We ordered Golda for delivery and were very disappointed. We found the portion sizes to be tiny for entrees and the flavors to be incredibly bitter. The gold'n pancakes were near inedible. The eggplant menneman was spicy but the mustard sauce made no sense. The chicken sausages were fine but again very small for what they are. The delivery was good and well packaged. I love me a good all day cafe. Breakfast or dinner food any time of day? Check. Beautifully plated dishes that demonstrate the culinary aptitude of the kitchen and give me a justifiable reason to spend way more than I would at a diner for similar food? Check! Gluten-free kale and walnut muffins? You bet. The menu promised a wide array of sweet and savory pastries, which is music to my ears. Unfortunately they were sold out of most by the time I arrived, save for the aforementioned gluten-free kale & walnut muffin, which wasn't really the vibe for me at the moment. My hanger concerns were quickly quelled when I spotted the eggplant menemen on the menu. Crispy egg, saffron yogurt, jerusalem artichoke, and urfa biber. The internet tells me urfa biber is essentially black pepper, but it's smart of them to make it sound fancy. I inhaled my dish. The two slices of bread on the plate were perfectly chewy, lightly toasted, and had a gentle drizzle of olive oil. This was great for dipping into the saffron yogurt, grilled eggplant and fried egg mix, which was a light and ideal meal for me. Even after chasing this with an oat milk chai latte I wasn't as full as I would've liked, but I also just spent $25 on lunch so I didn't order anything else. First I got raw chicken sausage so I took the sandwich back to the counter and asked for well done sausage, a first. When they brought it back it was badly burnt on one half and not much better on the other. I was pretty hungry so ate what I could till it started actually tasting burnt. Was the undercooked sausage the intended preparation? Was this burnt patty some kind of retaliation for questioning the chef? IDK, but if raw chicken sausage is what the kids are into now I guess I've aged out. The other thing odd feature was the drinks. I had a mulled cider and my wife ordered a cappuccino. Both were somehow room temperature. Sometimes you might get a less than super warm cider because they poured too much booze in and then know one cares. That was the problem here. I took my food to go but there's limited seating in the small cafe and based on the time you might get lucky and snag a seat. I'll start by saying this place is super cute and I love the way they decorated the place. The line moves fast and depending what you order you'll wait about 10-15min for your meal. I started with a $7 salted caramel latte which I immediately regretted because it tasted more salty than I expected so I guess that was an acquired taste. I then got the falafel burger and a side of spiced home fries. These two were absolutely delicious and I would definitely get both again. Portions were filling, seasonings were on point, and everything complimented each other very well. I finished it off with a mixed berry scone that was super tasty and not overly sweet. I gave this place a 4 instead of 5 because the prices were too high in my opinion. I spent like $40 which seems steep for what I got. I've been meaning to check this place out for a while, and finally got around to it this weekend. During the pandemic, they do have both indoor and outdoor dining options available, though there are no heat lamps with the outdoor seating so be aware of that. Because of that, my friend and I decided to do their takeout instead! I'm in love with their all day "for two" menu, and we went with the dinner for two. This was a hearty meal, coming with a choice of hummus or babaganoush (we went with hummus), za'atar flat bread, mushroom couscous risotto, choice of chicken or tofu skewer (we chose chicken), and roast sweet potato and turnip, as well as pickled cabbage and lemon carrot salatim. The couscous risotto was interesting and I enjoyed the mix of spices it boasted. The chicken was soft and tender, and wish it came with more than one chicken skewer per person! By far the show stealer for me was the flat bread, though. Spiced just right, it was soft and fluffy; the texture I still dream about. I paired it with the tangy hummus at first but ended up just eating it alone to savor it since I liked it so much. Thought the dinner for two combination was a reasonable deal, and they were nice enough to split it into separate portions for our takeout too. Will be coming back here for sure! read more

I love Golda for my post workout meals, for my on the go meals, and for my sit down morning breakfasts & chats. The coffee is soooo good. Perfect ratios of syrup-expresso-milk-ice. I always get the Signature Egg Sandwich, and this time I added beef bacon and avocado. I love that they have beef bacon and not pork bacon (for all my people who try to avoid swine best they can) but it would be nice if they had turkey bacon too. They have been mentioned on The Infatuation for having one of the best breakfast sandwiches in NYC and I'm gonna have to agree. For me, its the nutty muhmmara that is topped perfectly on fluffy scrambled eggs. Definitely a must try. The berries on the yogurt were fresh, not too sweet, not too mushy, and gave me that from the farm feeling. Only thing I would flag is that this is a small place. Their diligent staff is working hard since normally there are only 2 or so of them on the floor. Some days, the service is better than others. I've been coming occasionally here since the original owner Danny opened Golda, and during work-from-home due to pandemic found myself coming daily (or even twice a day!) for coffee or a snack by myself, for brunch a few times with friends, and a couple times in the late afternoon/evening for a glass of wine. The one consistent factor is the staff - I've seen a lot of staff over the years, and they are all delightful. Coffee 10/10 - I'm from New Zealand where we perfected the flat white, but have since switched to drinking my coffee black. For years the neighborhood only had Daily Press across the street which was very hit and miss. There were days where I'd take a sip from Daily Press and have to throw it out it was so burnt or over extracted. I've had hundreds of cups of coffee from Golda and they have all been excellent. Pastry/snacks 8/10 - this situation is evolving, they bake some goods in house, and purchase some from a vendor. For a while they had a baker who made the most amazing cakes and slices in-house but unfortunately she left. Their in-house snacks are still good, but not exceptional. However... whoever they get their almond croissants from they are amazing - easily the best almond croissant I've had in NYC and my weakest - if they are not sold out I can't help by buy one! Wine/cocktails - 9/10 - there's only small selection of wine and cocktails, but the few that I've tried I've been super happy with. They have a merlot and also a rose that I liked so much that I went and found it wholesale to buy them myself. Main dishes 6/10 - I've had the egg sandwich a couple times, and the grain bowl, and the chicken sandwich. Friends I've eaten with agree it's okay, but something always a little off. Space 6/10 - it's very very small, and just a few tables inside and a couple tables outside means it can get super crowded with just a few people. I've left the neighborhood now and I miss my regular trips to Golda, if you're in the area please check them out! read more

The staff is amazing and so kind, always willing to provide recommendations. Food-wise, I have tried: - Breakfast Plate (simple and good) - Smashed Avocado Toast (good but the toast is a little overfull and pricey) - 2 Za'atar Pitas with Matbucha Hummus (amazing!!! The pita is seasoned and crispy, and the hummus is creamy and flavorful.) - Chicken Sausage (the best chicken sausage, and dare I say sausage??, I've ever had) Drinks: - Honey Lavender Latte (amazing!) - Honey Oat Milk Latte (amazing!) - Queen Bee (such a refreshing and light cocktail) - Whiskey Latte (I'm not even a whiskey fan, and I wanted to drink the whole thing) Overall, a great cafe with a wonderful staff and a delicious variety of food and drinks. Highly creative small plates- I went with a savory brioche with eggplant and a salad with carrots. Amazing new trendy cafe in a very ungentrified part of Bed Stuy from one of the partners from the short-lived but great Tilda All Day. Right near the Franklin Ave C train stop, this place sticks out among the dollar stores and fried chicken shops, but it's well worth it for amazing pastries and the menu of small plates, salads and sandwiches. Golda is one of Brooklyn's many hidden gems that makes the long commute worth it. They are always hidden in the most obscure neighborhoods but never disappoint. I first came to visit when it was still fairly-new. The space is not that big but the interiors make up for it, making use of wood to accent the rather simplistic ambience. I was hoping to sit by the bar though the place was busy when I went there since it was a holiday after all. They have light meals and an assortment of pastries to go with the coffee. I got a poppy-seed cake which was really good paired with an almond latte. I'm rating it a 3/5 though just because the location is really off-the-beaten-path. read more

I ordered that without the corn salsa. Once I got my meal ToGo I checked it to make sure it was correct. It looked yummy but I just wanted some crushed red pepper for flavor. So I asked the young lady behind the counter for chilli pepper. She rudely responded, "WE DON'T have any". I didn't think she understood me so I repeated "may I have some crushed pepper?" She replied, "the chef is busy and we don't have crushed pepper." I was appalled at her rude response and won't be going back.
