Talk about a business model that has gone south - this used to be a staple for our family. Food was great and plentiful - aware that its always overpriced for the area, it was still worth it. Until it wasn't. They can't handle the overwhelming pressure, the lines are long, the wait is atrocious, and the servers - except for one who actually knows the business - have no idea what they are doing behind the cramped area they use for making food. We had egg sandwiches one day, (which, i'll admit, was the bomb with those hashbrowns) where they forgot the egg. We're rushing to the airport and they forget the key ingrediant? Nice. They didn't like me interupting them to fix it, and against the clock I was certainly agitated. They cook deli meat for cold sandwiches, and don't like it when you complain, because most of them can't speak a lick of English so you might as well bark at the wall. From the show of declining reviews, your poor customer service, I highly suggest a revised business plan. read more

A good bagel place will have a long line when you enter, and Goldberg's definitely had one when I came in after 9 am on a Saturday so I had lofty expectations. There were about 10 people in front of me and despite about 6-7 people working there, the wait was rather lengthy. It was about 25 mins from when I strolled in to when I received my order. Good news commuters! There is a parking lot as part of this mini mall with ample spaces available. There were about 20 different bagels available to choose from - including some of the more popular - salt, sesame, onion, garlic, plain, everything and a few of the more unusual - french toast and cheddar jalapeño. As I waited I saw the owner engaging in banter with a few of the more familiar customers. I could tell that this is an establishment that is a well respected part of the community. Unfortunately, Goldberg's has one of my pet peeves that is a growing part of the restaurant experience. And I get it. They add a certain percentage for credit card transactions, BUT I wouldn't know exactly what that was because it wasn't posted anywhere inside or outside the restaurant. When I pointed it out to the owner, he was extremely respectful, admited his wrongdoing and told me he would put something on the front door and by the cash register. I wasn't about to hang out to verify. The place does have a dining area with one of the more unusual set ups. There were several bikes (motorcycle, bicycle, etc.) around the perimeter. It seemed to take away from the seating area but it added a little character to the place. I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel with turkey bacon, egg whites, and Swiss cheese. The bagel was slightly above average. It was fluffy and had a sufficient number of raisins. The taste wasn't anything special. The bagel did have plenty of egg whites and turkey bacon and the order was accurate! I also went with a medium coffee. The coffee was average. What I truly liked about this place, was the fixins are where the customer can add as much whole milk or or oat milk or creamer as they would like. Overall, pros, the bagel sandwich was good and the staff was friendly. I love that you can add as much milk or sugar as you'd like on your own. The cons include no posted signs about a surcharge for credit cards and the wait. I'm still waiting to find a bagel in this area that I'd consider very good. I probably come back to this place, but I wouldn't go out of my way. read more

Start my mornings off there daily. Food is really great. Rob the owner is a cool & friendly dude. & the young ladies that work there are friendly & always greet you with a smile. I've been here a few times over the last few years. They used to be consistently good with thick sandwiches. My visit this week was disappointing. They've raised their prices but haven't maintained their quality. They put a lot less meat in the sandwich and ran out of coleslaw. They also over cooked the meat. Not worth the new price. read more

Let me say that Goldberg's has the bagels. In addition I sometimes order lunch and the sandwiches have more meat than most places in the Ringwood area. The service is excellent and it's a cute store front with old time aesthetics. I truly enjoy everything about Goldberg's. read more

The bagels are good. Soft and fluffy. A lot of meat on a breakfast sandwich. The cream cheese is a disgrace. The veggie is not good, the scallion is DISGUSTING. It is like they put all the veggies in a food processor and make it a puree then mix it with cream cheese, it's so soft like baby food. No one wants that. My husband always orders from here because there is a lot of meat on his breakfast sandwich but I'm often in the mood for cream cheese. The veggie I will force myself to eat, today I said I'll try scallion to see if it's better than the veggie (veggie cream cheese is my favorite). I couldn't even eat the scallion, my dog didn't even want it. It's in the trash. read more

I didn't get to have a bagel from here but I ran in for a quick lunch and got the Proud American on a spinach wrap. It was very good and super meaty. They even give a small side salad with it (I got macaroni). The staff was friendly and they were fast to prepare the order. read more

The food is excellent. They give a lot of meat on their sandwiches and a good amount of cream cheese on their bagels. My go to here is a Taylor ham egg and cheese. The ham is always cooked perfectly and they give a lot. Never too done but never under. The staff moves quickly and my order is usually done quick. I get this almost every week here, so that's why I was confused on the change in price for me. Miscommunications happen all the time, so not the end of the world. The food is ok and that's the best thing I have to say about them. The service is slower than any breakfast place ever should be. Just complete chaos behind the counter. At one point the woman in charge loudly reprimanded the workers telling them they needed to start cleaning the knives after each use (apparently that wasn't being done). The staff was just rude. No other way to put it. They are unfriendly, inattentive and could care less about your experience in their store. You almost feel like you're a burden on them for being there. This was my second trip to this location and on the first when I walked in I was greeted with "what do you want". I will say that they guy on the grill seemed happy and personable but everyone else was just rude. Ideally when running a place that serves breakfast it's best to hire people who aren't grumpy in the morning. Anyway, there are better options. Go to Oakland and go to JD's or Wilkes. I would probably go to the Dunkin donuts next door before going back to this location. read more

I met friends (who live in Ringwood) here for lunch recently. This is their go-to bagel shop. I liked my egg&cheese on a bagel very much. One friend got a side of egg salad for me to try...she told me how good it was and she knew how much I like egg salad...anyway, it was so good that I took a pound home! Nice variety of flavored cream cheeses. I personally don't like cream cheese but my friends swear by them! Yes the staff could have been just a tiny bit friendlier but really didn't matter. We ordered buttons (which they were out of) 4 bagels (not cut, nothing on them) a pound of vegetable cream cheese (which they had to make because they only had about a quarter left) and a roll, that's relatively easy especially since she was writing it down. The worst bagel shop I ever walked into. Terrible customer service! None of the 3 workers greeted me nor asked what I would like after waiting more than 5mins to get my order in. One of our favorite places! The best TECSPK around Ringwood and surrounding towns. You have to try the French Toast Bagel but it's only there on the weekends and they run out fast! I don't understand why there are only two reviews and both are negative. The staff and owner are super friendly and know their regular customers by name. The quality of the bagels, cream cheeses, salads, and deli are all far and above anything in the area. The sitting area is clean, always has customers, and decorated in a fun and charming way.
