Been here over 20x as it's my local bagel shop and the actual product is good. But my goodness, the attention to detail is piss poor. Guys, we're making bagels here, not beef Wellington. Your success rate of getting your order correct is about .000001%. Bagel with cream cheese toasted? It's not coming toasted. Want onion on that sandwich? F**k you, you're getting lettuce instead. I was in on Saturday, July 13th. The cashier was Howard (I have the receipt) I ordered a grilled cinnamon raisin with cream cheese and bacon. Howard gave me an odd look, so I specified a "bagel" not knowing what the confusion was as it is a very routine order. He said "What do you mean by grilled?" I replied that "you butter the bagel and put it on the flat top for a minute". I was sort of astonished that I had to explain this as a former Short Order Cook at a dinner, this is a regular request. Howard answered, "we really don't do that here". So I say just toast it and think to myself, I won't be back here as there are lots of other choices around the area. While I waited for my "TOASTED" bagel, an older lady comes to the counter, eyes the wrapped muffins by the register and asks Howard what kind it was? Howard's reply was "I don't have the slightest clue; your guess is as good as mine" I was again astonished and thought how rude and a complete lack of customer service. Now Howard may have been having a bad day but based upon the previous reviews above, this seems to be the norm, not the exception! As I said, I will not be back here. I'm so down to make another trip to Goldberg's Bagels! I was skeptical at first when I heard about another bagel/deli place in the area, but people in town were saying good things, so I finally gave it a try. The outside of it still looks like the old Boston Market unfortunately, just with the sign changed to Goldberg's. The inside however is updated, and quite charming. I was having a hard time choosing what to order, but the cashier said you can customize anything on the menu to your liking. The cashier was really friendly and my absolutely most favorite part of the experience here was that after we paid for our lunch, he said "I need to wash my hands before I make your food". There is even a separate designated sink for hand washing that is clearly visible from the counter. I really wish I knew the name of the cashier, he's a vegetarian if anyone is curious, because he had such great communication skills. Love that hand washing is a top priority at Goldberg's in Park Ridge! We took our food to go, I had ordered a wrap with roast beef, Brie cheese, and avocado. The roast beef was very good and was told they make it there. I kinda regret having both avocado and Brie in the same wrap because the creaminess of the avocado and the Brie were competing against each other. That's my own fault however, for putting those items together, not Goldberg's. I think a roast beef with Brie and spinach would probably be a nice wrap combo. I will hopefully be making a trip to Goldberg's sometime soon because it's a great establishment. read more

This was always my go-to bagel store on weekends but now there's a weird vibe. The girl with the dark ponytail who seems to be a regular worker there is just OFF. Today she actually popped a brown bag and made a really loud noise that startled everyone in there. A poor kid waiting for food started crying his eyes out. I mean, who does that? And then she laughs hysterically as if she made some kind of joke. A month or so ago I was there and she was screaming at one of her coworkers. I mean like crazy yelling out of control screaming. This place is so uneven. I went to get a toasted bagel with butter. They forgot about it put on almost a quarter pound of butter on a cold bagel. They were understaffed And forgot the rest of my order. I did try them on Saturday and there's a gentleman Who has been there from the beginning and is rude to his employees in front of his customers. Very unnecessary and unprofessional. I always liked Goldberg's bagels. This location is excellent for their quality though a bit high priced. The problem I have is they never get the orders right. You order sausage and the give you Taylor ham. Or you ask for ketchup and there is literally a dot. Sometimes my sandwich is on a croissant when I order a bagel. Sometimes the bagels are burnt a bit. They never remember the pepper or salt or they apply it so fast , they don't pay attention to what they're doing or how much they give you. Finally, can you please put napkins in the bag? Absolutely the WORST and most expensive bagels I've ever had. $3.00 plain w cream cheese. Bagels were either old or just plan bad. I purchased 3 ... gave them to the birds ... they wouldn't even eat them. Called to complain only to have someone answer the phone in Spanish. Went there this morning. First issue I had was the man who took my order and was making my order. I think he might be the owner but I am hoping he isn't. The guy was so rude to his staff.
