A Goldburger, curly fries, and aioli.
    Jonathan W.

It pains me to write this review, because the location is charming, the indoor/outdoor old school burger joint charm is there... the staff is very friendly and the service is excellent. The fries (we tried both the regular and curly fries) were perfection, their aioli was superb, and their niche soft drinks were very good... everything that supports a great burger joint is here! However the burgers were lacking... and I can't tell you what a disappointment that was. The key to a great smashburger is the patty, and this is where it fell down. Overcooked, under seasoned, and just a disappointment all around... the balance was off. In my experience a great smashburger has a juicy, well seasoned, patty with a sauce where the fat needs the pickles and onions to cut through it... it all comes together in a wonderful combination on your palate. Unfortunately our experience here was that the burger was lackluster and bland... using the aioli on the burger in place of the traditional burger sauce should have been an exciting up level of your standard smashburger, however in this case it just didn't work. Also the bun was a tad stale. All of this was hugely disappointing because everything else here works so well. We may come back for another go to see if we caught them on an off day, because the other reviews made it sound like the burgers are great... however as a smashburger connoisseur, this place just didn't quite make it.

Based on trying other smash burger places this is now 5 stars In my book - the one to beat Better quality and taste than other places

Goldburger has been around for quite a while and I first tried it when it first started I believe back in 2020 in highland park. It's always been so delicious as I'm a big fan of smash burgers! My favorite has always been the LA special with some curly fries. And now that they're open here in the valley I'm so happy they've kept it after all these years. This location is perfect, busy street but ample parking and it also seems that they've kept the drive thru from previous business. The few times I've checked this location out, staff is always friendly and attentive. The vibes inside are pretty great too + there is seating inside and outside as well. I've you happen to drive by don't hesitate to check them out

Had this a few times now and it does not disappoint. The smash burgers are good and even the bread on the patty melt is good. I like that they try to use local CA sources for dairy , sodas, bread ... as opposed to big commercial companies. They have onion rings and hot dogs available too. Service is great and the food is good! Strawberry shake is a shining star.

Finally tried Goldburger! The drive through was busy, the inside was full. The staff were really nice and patient. We had to wait for a table and as soon as the previous people left, the team started cleaning tables and made way for new customers. It was nice that they were so mindful of the dining room. We ordered the goldburger, the Reuben and curly fries. Food took about 10 minutes to come out which was a-ok because it was made fresh. All the ingredients seemed quality. The pastrami was smoky not salty. The curly fries were delish. The goldburger was solid! I might crave this again.

I heard about this place through IG, so I decided to come by and check it out. I tried the Goldburger, which is their bestselling burger. It was tasty, with 2 very juicy large patties, cheese, pickles, special sauce and a lot of grilled onions, with some smashed into the patties and some just being outside. Overall, a good, big burger. The customer service was excellent and the ambience and design remind you of a good old-school 70's diner, with light blue color being the dominating color in the design. You could also sit either at the counter or at one of their 6-7 tables. They also have a medium sized patio for dining outside. Would try this spot again!

Yum!!!! SO happy we have a Goldburger close by! Love that they have a drive-through. Made it super easy for us since I did not want to get out of the car and I was in my pj's lol It was Sunday around 1:45 PM. We ordered the following... 1 Goldburger 1 Ca Classic (combo w fries, drink, & sauce) 1 curly fries 1 regular fries Missing a sauce....We were also supposed to get a sauce with our combo (requested spicy ranch), but we didn't. That's OK I will bring it up next time we go and I'm sure they will give it to me then. Sauces are .90 cents each We also got extra sauces in the side...Russian and spicy ranch. My Goldburger comes with garlic mustard aioli on it, but I got it on the side... I'm not much of a mustard person but hubby is a mustard lover and he loved it!!! All sauces are good! The smell from the bag in our car was delicious! Of course we had to dip into the fries right away and they were piping hot, which I love and appreciate! All of our food was fresh, hot, and delicious! The burgers were flavorful, juicy, and hot. Crispy edges and nice char on the onions for my burger (Goldburger). Fries were a great potion! Big! Yummmmyyyy!!!! $41 n change. Quality meat and ingredients. Not cheap but we're ok with that. Very tasty! Customer service was nice. Asked if I wanted chilis and ketchup and I said yes to both. We will be back! We loved our lunch!

Ahh the successor to the good ol' Frosty Queen. While it doesn't replace the nostalgia of the Queen, it more makes it up with pretty darn good smash burger. The Goldburger gets it right with the most important component of a burger which is the patty. It had the right amount of saltiness, savoriness, and crispiness that makes for a tasty smash burger. Sure, it's a bit pricey and the presentation is lacking, but in the end, it tasted darn good. Same goes with the fries. That is a must have if you're ordering from Goldburger!

We tried this spot last night and we ordered the California smash burger with curly fries and vanilla shake + a patty melt with sparkling lemonade. Everything was good and we ate the whole thing! Service was excellent and they even gave us samples of all their dipping sauces so we can try them all since it was our first time. My fav was the spicy ranch, and his fav was the garlic aioli. This place is also pretty cute and the perfect spot for a casual night out. Happy eating!

We must've missed the opening, despite driving past on the regular, eagerly awaiting the unveiling. Today, as we were driving past, yet again, I saw people inside and hit the breaks! Around the corner we went, down the back alley, to fully take in the re-imagine old Dairy/ Frosty Queen. Yes, yes, many of you are sad the Queen is gone - long live "The Queen"! - but we should be VERY happy that a local SFV boy, Allen Yellent, who attended Porter Middle School in GH, took on this project and was excited to breathe new life - NOT TO MENTION A TON O' MONEY! - into this iconic spot. How many times have buildings been shuttered in the last 5 years and sat empty and sad and all we can do is sigh, shrug and accept the fate??? So, THANK YOU, Allen! (Now setting soap box aside, I continue with my review....) IT LOOKS STUNNING!!!! To actually be able to sit inside and relax in a/c or, for those who prefer SFV hot al fresco days, sitting in the shade with your choice of NINE TABLES??? Where did all this space come from??? Plenty of seating - CHECK! Menu: Streamlined, simple. Honestly, the previous Frosty Queen menu was a bit much. Greek, Mexican, breakfast, burgers, soft serve treats.... What we have now are simple smash burgers (or Veggieburger), hot dog - as long as the Dodgers continue to win, maybe???, grilled cheese, pastrami, fries, fountain and yes, soft serve (be it cup, cone, shake or float). Other locations may have pie, but they don't have the soft serve we grew up with in GH! So, since we were just passing by, and a liiiiitle peckish, but not fully hungry, we tried the grilled cheese and Hubs got a chocolate shake - natch. The sandwich, Swiss and American on Bub and Grandma's Bread, with some pickles on the side for good measure, was a perfect share snack. warm, gooey, delicious bread and only $7! While the shake was not the same size as the aforementioned Queen's, it was chocolatey and satisfying and on par with Hub's other faves, $8. The service was fast and friendly, welcoming and there was a steady stream of locals popping in to grab a bite or a frosty treat on this hot October day. The MCM decor is well done and thoughtful, with nods to chefs who either inspire Allen or are iconic to LA - or both! And a few fun caricatures of chefs, celebs and famous foodies. All that being said, let me gently remind the staff of a golden rule in business: If you got time to lean, you got time to clean. This is serious when it comes to food service. The tables could've used more attention and cleanliness is next to...well, you know - or, should! Was it horribly messy? No, but this is a beautiful, brand new dining area so it doesn't take much to look unkempt. A few times of not caring or vigilance lacking and people will translate that to food prep and pride of product. I'd love to see this Goldburgers location - the most beautiful of them all IMO - stay looking beautiful and a joy to visit. Who says you can't go home? Welcome back, Allen, I look forward to returning to enjoy some burgers, fries, shakes and a winning Dodger inspired hot dog soon. Cheers! "CC"

I initially thought I wouldn't like the place, but I ended up really enjoying the food here. Parking: There's plenty of street parking, and they also offer a drive-through. It's similar to In-N-Out but with much better quality and no lines. Food: Goldburger truly sets the gold standard for smashed burgers. I was amazed by how flavorful it was. I ordered the California Classic without cheese, and the burger was cooked to perfection in my opinion. The patties were thin with extra crispy edges. Even the fries were delicious--I'd say the curly fries are better than the regular ones here. Service: The staff was super friendly and accommodating, even offering to switch out items if we didn't like something we ordered. I really appreciated that. Ambiance: The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. Overall: I'm happy to see another great eatery in Granada Hills. I'll definitely be back. Highly recommend fellow Yelpers and friends stop by and support this local gem.

I ordered at the drive thru but this place has plenty of outdoor seating! It's a small place inside but the food has big flavors. The food is made to order and I think food made fresh and hot on arrival tastes the best. They have burgers, sandwiches, fries, and shakes/drinks. Their in house made sauces are great! There is a small parking lot near drive thru! Food was wonderful I took off one star because they gave me the wrong order I was given food I didn't order but by the time I realized I didn't want to turn back! After eating the food I was giving its safe to say that anything you get here will taste good! Even though I had the wrong items they were so good that I was not upset and I forgot about my disappointment quickly! It was not crowded just one other car behind me so not sure reason for mix up it's important to always check you food before leaving! 9/10 recommend!

Was looking for a good smash burger and well found this new spot in Granada hills. I will say the meat was nice and crunchy on the outside and inside was just the right texture. Flavor wise I give it a 7/10 and well the portion size is a bit more than usual smash burgers and always a plus. Fries are nice amount as well, a bit salty tho. It helped to use some of the thousand island and ketchup lol The ice cream is actually good! 10/10! I would probably go back. Service quick and love the ambiance as well with indoor and outdoor seating.

Will there be chili cheese available everyday: saw it on IG?

    Yes

Did you recently change the times of operations to everyday? I drove there a a couple months ago and saw it was closed. I had to eat somewhere else disappointed. By the way every time I call I never get anyone to answer the telephone. Number?

Yes they are open 7 days a week now. I believe they open at 11:30.

The buns were quite small and a bit smooshed, but they were soft. It came with some fry sauce and pickles as well, overall a good burger. Parking: Street parking was super easy on a Sunday afternoon, I was able to pull up right in front and park on the street. There is a Super A across the street and ample parking around for free. Ambiance & Food: This reminds me of an old school burger stand. Those were the best burgers and this one did not stop that trend. As I walked up, we were warmly greeted and given a quick rundown of what which burger. They did have specials (I will get to that in a second) which we were intrigued, but for the sake of perspective, I ordered the Goldburger and both regular fries and curly fries with a bottle coke. The Goldburger is naturally a double, but my gymrat protein brain added that extra patty. They use a 70% to 30% mixture for their burger which makes the burger oh so decadent. The picture I took doesn't do it justice. The moment you bite into the burger the combination of burger juice, aioli, burnt skirt, all come together in such a harmonious fashion. It was remarkable. Though fries are not one of my strong points, both fries were crispy and I haven't had any other experience with Curly fries other than Jack in the Box, but these were so much better. I went ahead and dipped the fries in some homemade Aioli and dang, what a combo! Back to those specials, the current special is CHILI, I was intrigued so they gave me a small container of it to try. Man, if I wasn't watching my caloric intake, that would have been the move. It was rich and chunky and not to soggy which some always comes. Give it a try as they said it will be around for sometime. Other than burgers, they do have hot dogs as well. So worth trying both next time. To be perfectly honest, this brought back so much nostalgia for me, I used to go to school in the area and this brought a lot of those memories back. That's a lot of food for two people and well worth the price. The DH is as big as you could imagine. They cook it medium rare, which I love...that beast of a burger was so juicy, they should hand out gloves when eating it or at least a 3" high stack of napkins! You have a slight dry aged taste to it, but I am partial to the really funky dry aged. I am talking 45-60-100 day dry aged steaks, but this was just as good for a hamburger. The truffle fries were massive and could easily feed 3 people, maybe 4. We got there just in time to get the corner booth table and watch the line get longer and longer. The Amboy itself was good, nothing special and it reminded me of Bob's Big Boy hamburger sauce, which was a good memory to get back to. I think the most unique aspect are the heavily, sesame seeded buns. They were very soft, but held up to the DH 1/3# burger patty very nicely. And another thing...It all looks exactly as in the other videos. The service was excellent! The cashier was so nice, patient and walked us through the menu. I was also able to try a bite of the Classic, and I really liked the fries with the ketchup bottle that had the narrow tip; it made the fries feel even more fun to eat, and I definitely enjoyed making little squiggles with it. The Fancy DH was very good and definitely lived up to the hype. It had a deep, savory flavor that reminded me of a really high-end steak, especially with the charred crust on the burger. The inside was moist and juicy, and the caramelized onions, provolone, and garlic aioli all worked really well together. That said, it was a very VERY heavy burger, and I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had split it in half instead of eating the whole thing on my own. After a few bites, it started to feel like a little too much. From the bite I had of the Amboy Classic, it felt more balanced overall, which made sense as a simpler option. Since I usually go for Asian food when I'm in Chinatown, this was a fun change of pace, and I'm glad I finally made it here. Overall, I think it's worth trying.

Their hot dog is the platonic ideal of what a hot dog should be. The old bay seasoning on their crispy tots is a stroke of genius. The inside is small, so it's basically an outdoor-only seating or take-it-to-go situation. Thankfully a tall brick wall, umbrella-toting picnic tables, and large sails give ample shade to their large lot. There are a few parking spots in the back if you're lucky, otherwise street parking should be easy to find. When enough people showed up to eat, it felt like a backyard kickback. Music was a perfect volume for conversation and their Regular Show-esque bespoke mural gave us a lot to talk about. You put your order in with friendly staff inside, and they call your name on speakers when it's ready. Ice cold water is freely available as well as some select beers, wines, and juices. It's not fast food, but it's not slow either -- you can't rush something as delicious as what they have to offer here.

They have their own parking lot, but it's quite limited. Looks like part of it was under construction for expansion. Here's what I ordered: TATOR TOTS - $6 Fried crispy, tossed in old bay. Exactly how it's described and they delivered it--so good! SINGLE BURGER - $9 3oz patty with cheese, butter toasted bun, mayo, chopped chilies, onion, pickles, tomato, lettuce. Solid smash burger!!!!! Nuff said. I was sad they ran out of hand pies and that I because it was the end of the day. Need to come earlier for them.

I remember they were selling $10 Don Julio 1942 shots one time because it was Cinco de Mayo week. Great times and memories made at this restaurant. Holiday decor was always great to see especially during Halloween. A true loss. Bring it back please! The staff was friendly and very attentive. The wings and drinks themselves were super flavorful and I thought I would have more time to enjoy and come back to visit while in town. My partner also tried their burger and fries and decided to stop by the restaurant only to find out they closed a couple of months ago. It was worth the visit when we went there back in December.z The place was cute and it felt comfy.

I happened to be in the area, and even though I'd already eaten, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to finally drop in. Irv's originally opened in 1946 as Queen's Burgers, located right on Route 66 on Santa Monica Boulevard in WeHo, and was deeply ingrained in LA's historic car culture. In 1970, Irv Genis bought the stand and renamed it Irv's Burgers, and it quickly became a legendary late-night spot for rock icons like Bob Dylan and Jim Morrison. By 2000, Sonia Hong took over, famously hand-drawing doodles on the paper plates alongside her signature slogan, "Just for you." After closing in 2013 and again in 2018, Lawrence Longo partnered with Sonia in 2021 to bring the brand back to life. They've since expanded quite a bit, even opening locations in Malibu and Las Vegas. On a staff recommendation, I ordered Irv's Original Roadside Burger Double ($11.25). Honestly, it was just okay. While a certain amount of grease and salt is expected with a burger, this one crossed the line into being a bit too salty and oily. On the bright side, the sesame bun was excellent, and I loved that they kept Sonia's legacy alive by printing her classic doodles on the tray placemats. While I'm glad Irv's was saved from history and is expanding, the food itself felt pretty so-so. The outdoor tables were also a bit dirty during my visit. I still love that classic roadside burger stand aesthetic with the outdoor stools, but unfortunately, I won't be in a rush to head back.

To say I'm super bummed is an understatement. I am so thankful that I happen to stop by for lunch and visit this location one last time. The same manager was there on the last day as when I went the first time two years ago. The staff there was always amazing, friendly, and the food was incredible. I think it was the Chinatown location that didn't work for them. However, the good news is that they do have three other locations and if you have never been, I suggest you check Kroft out if you love burgers, especially smashed. The other locations are in Long Beach, Anaheim, and Rancho Cucamonga. I wish them luck and I will definitely be stopping in their other locations if I am ever in the area.

Finally the 3rd time they responded, they start arguing, apparently my order was done a long time ago, and it was given to someone else. It took 30min to figure out that my order had already been done and given to someone else because there was no communication between the kitchen, order staff or pick up staff. no apology, just got my food after the argument 3minutes later...Food was average, definitely not worth a 30min wait.
