Chicken was nice a soft on the inside and crunchy when you bit into it. Rice was a chef's kiss. Egg roll, was well an egg roll. Combo plate #3 Garlic Chicken, BBQ pork fried rice & foil wrapped chicken. Chicken was nice and seasoned. Garlic wasn't overpowering and chicken had a nice crunch when bit into it. Rice was also a chef's kiss. The wrapped chicken was nice and soft with a bit of a chewy texture when eating. Combo plate #4 Beef and broccoli, chicken chow mein and two crab ragoon's. Friends and I stop by this place for lunch after looking at a muscle car for sale. When visiting Manteca, we always stop by New China Kitchen. When having a craving for Asian food. The folks who ran New China Kitchen, had retired in December of 2025, we had discovered. So we tried China Bowl, located in a strip mall and visible from the neighboring streets along with parking being tight. We ordered the shrimp wonton soup, fried prawns and egg rolls for starters.The soup and fried prawns were very good and tasty.The egg rolls weren't to my liking and were on the doughy side. We later ordered Broccoli and beef, orange chicken, the house fried rice along with Mongolian beef. The main dishes were on point along with being eye catchy. Service was wonderful. Young gentleman waited on us and he was very friendly. He was attentive and noticed when our drinks were less than half full and immediately filled them without us asking. Ambiance was typical of what you would expect from a Chinese restaurant. I posted a video of the dining room. Seems to be a tad outdated but definitely well kept up and clean. The food portions were good and price was reasonable. My walnut chicken and his sweet n sour chicken appeared to be the same chicken tossed in different sauces. Our food was served within minutes but was not hot more of room temperature. To be fair this is a good place to eat for cheap and good portions. Food was three stars with a good price for what it was. This place is absolutely equally as good as the Big name Chinese fast food competitor. Wish we could do half stars because I would easily go three and a half stars for the food. There was plenty of parking in the lot and some additional parking on the street along side of the business. We have been here and got take-out many time over the years. The service and wait times are always slow, but the food is fresh and hot. Our favorite is War Won Ton Soup, especially on cool nights. We have tried many things on the menu and always been happy. Ambiance is typical of many Chinese restaurants and has not been updated in years. China Bowl is one of those places that if you blink, you'll miss it. It's a tiny little place nestled in between medical and business offices on the main strip in Ripon. But, it's been there forever and, if you know, you know! I've seen this place for at least 20 years with every intention to stop by, but never did until last Saturday. I took my Mom for lunch and we were greeted right away by a really nice lady (the owner?) who seated us and took our drink orders as we sat down. The place is small, but extremely clean. There were only 2 other tables occupied besides us, but that changed within the next 20 minutes as more people came to dine-in. We ordered the seafood combination lunch plates which were $10.95 each. It came with a cup of the egg flower soup (very tasty), white rice, and a delightful sauteed blend of shrimp, calamari, carrots, zucchini, and broccoli in a light sauce perfectly seasoned. The portion of each lunch plate was so big that Mom and I could have easily shared and still been full, but it was nice to have leftovers for later. I wish I would have taken more pictures... We also tried an order of the fresh, homemade potstickers which were some of the best we've ever had. China Bowl has a nice selection of menu items to choose from, the food is made fresh, and the restaurant is very clean. The staff is friendly and attentive - we are definitely coming back! read more

Called for take out . Told it would be ready in a half hour . Got there in 25 minutes and my order had just been done . Ordered Teriyaki Chicken it was a very good sized portion and tasted wonderful. Also ordered the sweet and sour prawns and good portion again and they were great too . Lots of room and it looked very clean . The hosts were excellent and friendly, on the phone and in person . Really enjoyed our meal here tonight. Small quiet little restaurant. Clean and friendly staff. Good was made quickly. We ordered: wor wonton soup, honey walnut shrimp, broccoli beef, house chow mein, house fried rice, and veggie egg rolls. The wor wonton soup was great. Wonton were big, and full of meat. I haven't had a wonton that full or big in a soup before. Flavor was good and lots of veggies. Honey walnut shrimp was definitely our favorite. The double fry on it gave it such a great crunch to it, and the shrimp still remained soft and flavorful. And the shrimp were big, bigger than ice ever had at any other Chinese restaurant. Everything we had was just great! Haven't had good Chinese food since we've moved out here to the valley and this definitely has changed our minds. We definitely will be making the drive over here to have Chinese food! My youngest loved the chow mein soup much she asked for the whole plate to eat the remaining noodles. Overall, this place is our new favorite Chinese restaurant. Also, to top it all of, we were wonderfully blessed by an older gentleman who paid for our meal today, I wish I could thank him. Food flavor was ok. They give you a lot and I guess that's where to reviews come from. They serve their togo food in styrofoam containers which would be ok if they didn't add the food so hot that it melts the foam into your food. The bottoms of all containers were melted. I guess if you eat there it's ok, but for togo it's a no to toxic plastic in my food. read more

Finally!! A good Chinese place around here. I live in Manteca this is about 8 min from me. You have no idea how impossible and disappointing it is to try and find a decent Chinese place around here. I'm from the bay and used to having good Asian food nearby. This satisfied my Chinese craving. The potstickers are huge, fried and filling, comes with amazing sauce. BBQ pork fried rice was delicious and so was the chow menu. The garlic chicken was perfectly fried and had a great flavor. We will definitely be coming back here. They provided great service and I saw people coming in and out for takeout during late lunch hour which was a good sign. read more

I waited 40 minutes and the order wasn't ready. they took my money, I'm waiting for my order to be cooked. it has been 55 and I'm still waiting. I think they only wait until you pay.
