We always talked about replacing it, but life happened and we never did. This past Christmas, my husband surprised me with a new and improved version of that original ring. My plan was to wear it stacked with my engagement ring, but once I tried them together, it just didn't feel right. I still wanted to wear it though, especially on days when I'm not wearing my engagement ring. The challenge was that my right hand is slightly larger than my left. I'll be the first to admit I am not an easy customer. I was very indecisive and in and out of the store more times than I'd like to admit. Mike, their Master Jeweler suggested something so I never have to worry about the three pieces clumping together again. He attached the cross permanently to the center of the chain by using a laser and then affixed one of the briolettes a little way up from the cross and the second one about an inch higher, also laser attached. (vs soldering) Problem solved and I LOVE it! I never have to worry about them sliding together again and not being seen. The two stones are valuable and I am happy they'll no longer be hidden along with the tiny sapphire and diamond cross. Haven't checked them out yet at Timothy Grant? Don't wait any longer!! It almost was if she were assessing whether I was actually there to do business or planning to burglarize the place. Her immediate quote was priced roughly double what I expected based upon my research with a three week turnaround for some simple adjustments. I looked around the store briefly and left. The displays featured signs stating items 50-70% off. Will not return and I'm certain the proprietor does not care.
