SLOW. What is the deal? I waited 30 minutes. I've never waited this long at any other golden chick.

I went to the new restaurant in Talty Texas today. I ordered a sandwich only and large sweet tea. I picked up my sandwich and was waiting for my drink. The rude girl said "ya need something?", like I was bothering her. I said I was waiting for my tea. She said a drink don't come with a sandwich. I said I ordered it separately. I then asked if she could make it now and I'll pay for it now. She told me to either walk inside or drive around and get back in line again. I just left instead. The sandwich was inedible, it was undercooked and had a lot of gristle. I couldn't even bite through it. Places to eat are sparse in this area and I was very happy a new chicken place opened. I won't go back and I won't recommend it to anyone. One star is too high of a score, but the only choice I had. read more

The Golden Chick on 12180 Bissonnet St, Houston, TX 77099 is the WORST of them all. I can confirm..DO NO GO THERE. On my last 3 occasions I've gotten the WORSE service. The food isn't hot and this time only ONE car was in the drive thru and no customers on the inside. They started to take my order but stopped and didn't even come back to complete the order. We were sitting there waiting at least 5 minutes and I kept saying, "hello". Nothing. Finally, we went inside. I could not believe it. They acted as if they didn't care. The two times before, SAME DAMN THING. I hope this place shuts down. I'll go all the way to Westheimer from now on. read more

Since I do not eat chicken I ordered the catfish mac and cheese and okra. All of the food, in my opinion, tastes like something Connor and Becky would bring to the cook out. I definitely wouldn't recommend you ordering any of the three items I ordered. Definitely stick with the chicken since I am assuming it is there specialty; and possibly the fries. read more

I just got off the phone with your restaurant. We ordered online on your website on January 1st and you were closed, which is fine, but I need a refund because I wasn't able to get the food. I called and your employee was not knowledgeable on how to proceed and told me to cancel the order online and when I asked them how they told me they didn't know. I ordered yesterday and did not get an email receipt and have no way of knowing where to go. I have screenshots of the order and I have the bank transaction on my card. Terrible customer service at the Harker heights location! Had posted a review a couple of days ago but I see it didn't make it on the review page! So I will try again! Went in on the 23rd of June and placed a large order 30 pieces of fried chicken with sides and 25 tenders for pickup on the next day at 5:30! Arrived around 5:45 to nothing being ready for pickup! Even worse acted as if it was my fault they didn't know about it! I handed them my receipt and they wanted to know what manager was on duty? Didn't know I had to furnish them a name to complete my order!!! Finally a worker spoke up and said she remembered! Needless to say disappointed with the customer service on that day and many previous visits! They never answer the phone and 90% of the time order is incorrect! I was excited to see that a golden chick finally opened in houston. Ever since i moved here from Austin I've been missing it. This location is 15 min from my place next to gas station and subway. The lady at the front was really nice and patient. I ordered the #2 which is the chicken strips (spicy) with fries and a drink. Our food came out in about 5 minutes and was piping hot. Our cashier had noticed they forgot the rolls and came by and gave us 2 each. The place was clean the bathrooms are single person and clean as well. I love golden chick I'll never find a negative thing to say about them :) love it. read more

Literally just sat in line for an entire hour only to watch them playing when we finally got to the window. Waited an additional 10 minutes for our food and then received cold food. I drove from The Woodlands to try this place because of all the great reviews. Wish I shared everyone else's opinions but I do not. I ordered a variety to get a good sense of the menu. Fried and roasted chicken, dirty rice, fried okra, corn nuggets, rolls and raspberry lemonade. The only thing that I would go back for is the roasted chicken. Fried chicken was comparable to Church's chicken which I do not like. I bit into raw okra, dirty rice was more dirty than rice, corn was average, rolls were ok but Hartz is better and I threw away the lemonade after one taste. My first job was at a Golden Chick in north Texas. I can tell you that the tenders and chicken are marinated 24 hours before they are used and the side dishes are never reused the next day. Only the coleslaw is not made fresh daily. They keep the place tidy so you don't have to worry about cleanliness. They offer chicken tenders, wicked wings (similiar to buffalo wings), fried chicken, fried fish, salads, etc. Their sides include: fries, okra, green beans, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, dirty rice, whole jalapeños, jalapeño poppers, etc. They are known for free refills, fresh baked cookies, raspberry lemonade and free vanilla icecream for dine - in patrons. This location also has people walking around handing out fresh yeast rolls. I've been back twice and the cashiers have been very pleasant. Looking forward to my fourth and fifth time here! Definitely give their chicken a try. Definitely better than Raising Canes, Chick Filet, or the other chicken places around town. read more

Saw all of the great Yelp reviews and decided to check this place out. I can't give you a review on the food because I didn't get any. My review is solely based on the interactions with the cashier. I came up to the drive thru around 10 pm and was promptly greeted. As this was my first time at the restaurant, I had a couple of questions, since I didn't see exactly what I wanted on the menu. The exchange with the cashier girl went something like this: "Welcome to Golden Chick. Please order when you're ready." "Hi. Do you have a combo with fried white meat chicken?" "I'm sorry, can you please hold on one moment?" Dead silence for about 3 minutes. I mumble to myself "What's going on?" And the girl promptly resurfaces on the mic. "Yes ma'am. What do you want to order." "Do you have a combo with white meat chicken?" "Um, white?" "Yes. Do you have that?" "Chicken combo?" "Yes." "Um, gravy? Uh..." It was like playing charades. At that point I just gave up and drove off. If you don't know an answer, find out, say you don't have it, or just learn how to interpret the language your customers speak. read more

I love this place, it's my go to chicken spot. One day I decided to go inside and get my food take-out. They have an ice cream machine inside and it's free. I decided to get a cone since I was waiting for my food. This black girl which I think was the manager tells me that the ice cream is for customers eating in.
