First and last time for us. Overpriced and underwhelming. I was ravenous, like so hungry even SPAM sounded good. However, this was a very disappointing use of almost $20. We ordered through drive-thru the 3 piece fried catfish meal with fries and the spicy 3 tender sandwich meal with zing sauce, fried okra, and a side of gravy. For reference, we're not heavy salt people, at all. Catfish was mostly breading, nice and crispy, but mushy fish inside, no flavor. Fries were chewy, not crispy or soft, chewy. 3 tender sandwich the tenders were not spicy in the least, just slightly salty. I'm guessing from the hint of reddish powder seasoning sprinkled on top? Almost no zing sauce on the sandwich, like a quarter sized little blop. The tenders were cooked well, crispy and not dried out, but almost flavorless. Fried okra was decent, also flavorless, tasted mostly like frying oil. The gravy was so incredibly watery, and also had no flavor. It honestly tasted like watered down hot milk. I got a half and half tea for my drink, 30 oz. I can't normally finish a whole drink, but there was so much ice in the cup, 2/3 of the way full, that I was out of tea before I even finished my sandwich. The food was hot, and not dried out. Great staff and hot fresh chicken! I've had the pleasure of visiting there other Houston location and it's just a good as this one. They lady who took my order was very nice and patient, I always order the chicken fingers, they were hot like they just came out of the grease. The fries were hot and fresh as well. I am super stoke they opened a Golden chick in Houston. They have the best chicken tenders and fried okra. Make sure to get it spicy. The employees are great and always following up with us to let us know when our food is ready. Also, whenever you dine in, there is complementary vanilla ice cream. Amazing! So flavorful and I can't believe I'm say this but Golden Chicken is better than Canes and Zaxby's!

They started off good, so good that my family was eating there at least 3 times a week!!! The week of 6-12-16, everything started to go downhill for me. First I ordered two catfish combos and received rubbery spongy catfish with medium drinks when all of their combos come with 32 oz drinks but iI let this one slide. Then the next day, I'm back there to get my #1 3 piece tenders and dirty rice and got home and had french fries instead (ugh!). This time I called back to the store and spoke with Lisbeth who was very apologetic who told me to just bring my receipt back and she would replace everything on my receipt for the inconvenience. On this "recorded call", I advised her that I would come back later. Returned to Golden Chick around 9:00 pm to purchase THREE # 2 Combos w/ Dirty Rice at $8.19 each with hopes of redeeming my replacement meal token previously given by Lisbeth when I encountered Tiffany (in the midst of a rainstorm) who stood at the window and argued with me for 7 minutes about their policy on replacing meals. I let her listen to the recorded conversation and she tried telling me "What Lisbeth MEANT to say was" irregardless of what she heard or i was told. All while pouring down raining, i tried explaining to Tiffany that she needed to honor what I was told and then suggest further training or reiteration of the company's policy with the previous Shift Leader Lisbeth but to stand and ARGUE with me as I'm trained to know their policy is absurd and unacceptable. She held to her decision even after I told her I would be filing a complaint on her!!! After getting home and DRIED OFF, my then COLD food and dirty rice was horrible. I live for that dirty rice and it is usually to die for BUT this was the second batch that has bits of hard rice and meat, almost like those sections were old or had cooked longer than the rest.
