As far as fast food chicken tenders, this specific Golden Chick has been great both times we have picked up from the drive thru. We always get 1/2 regular and 1/2 spicy chicken strips. The spicy ones aren't really spicy but have a nice seasoning. If you like saltier chicken, the spicy is good. Their gravy is awesome (add black pepper) and their rolls are excellent. Again, not fine dining, but fresh, delicious chicken, bread and gravy. Their macaroni and cheese looks really cheesy and rich but didn't have much flavor. I would t get that again. I will say that they are my top five fried chicken or fried catfish fast food. something about the recipe it really is fresh and crunchy and not so greasy. Compared to the others, I would rate them Number one. Yeah, they are a little expensive but that's the price you pay when you eat good food. We wanted specific items on the menu, but there wasn't a combo for it. He worked our items into a combo and saved us a few bucks. Additionally he was very kind. I used to like this place, don't know what happened but it has gone down hill while prices up gone up. Drove by Friday to get the 16 piece tender family meal for dinner, total came to over $26.00 which is quite a bit for chicken. The sides were large mashed potato, gravy, fried okra and 4 yeast rolls, do the math and it's almost $1.00 per chicken tender, quite pricey. The tenders have gotten smaller and full of stringy fat tendons, after removing all that stuff all that was left was a little piece of chicken. The only good thing is the fried okra which you do get quite a bit. The yeast rolls also don't have the same taste and were not as soft as before. I don't think I will be back, too bad, they used to be good. You better off taking your family to chick-fil-a for that amount of money. read more

I have always liked this restaurant. When we go, we always get the 3 tender deal. 3 tenders, fries, gravy, fresh roll, and a drink. It is always a win for me, and my son. It always hits the spot. The drive through line seems to always go pretty fast. The food is always fresh, it has always been hot to the touch when I go through. If they feel like the tender size falls short, they always put in a few extra pieces, whitch always makes my day. We are always driving in from Manor to partake, and if we just can not wait till we get home it is fresh, and hot, and even if we wait to get home, it is still warm when we get home from the 20 minute ride. Good size drink comes with the 3 tender deal as well, enough for the ride, and with your meal once you reach home. Never dissappointed! Filling, hot, and fresh, and satisfying. My son & I split the fish combo, (5 halved fillet pieces-not nuggets, 1 good sized side, roll & large drink) added on another roll & those DAMN corn nuggets, and the 3 cookie deal, lol and spent less than $15.
