The ambiance of the restaurant was better than expected, with hot sauce, ketchup, honey, and seasonings laid out on every table. Food area was clean. The chicken tenders were decently crispy and moist with a simple fried chicken taste. The fried okra was extremely disappointing, however, as it had little to no flavor from the batter. The roll was fine. The gravy and chicken sauce did not enhance the food by that much since they also lacked seasonings. You can season the food by yourself with the seasonings at the table, but it won't save the food from being bland. Overall, the food was pretty bland and unmemorable. The teams works well together and tonight it done on me, as they had a family inside celebrating Christmas, how often I see the managers here jump right in and help their staff when it gets busy. the workers are not nice, everytime I come to this location they have attitude. I seem to be skipped in line 90% of the time... and end up waiting 20 minutes. My experience today sent me over the edge to finally maybe save someone else from the same experience.. I went to this bush chicken today at 12 for lunch for my dad. After waiting in line, and watching others pull up and drive off for at least 15 minutes. I had someone shout from across the lot "have you been helped", instead of walk up to my window to help me. Then I got a "Here" very rudely as they handed me my food and walked away. I think it's simple to be nice, especially in a fast food setting. They were not busy, and had no reason to be rude. Man oh man!!!!! I live in the area and passed this place way to many times smh! Bush's chicken is literally the best chicken ever; hot, plump, meaty, and juicy. I was in complete awe seeing the size of the chicken strips (they are huge) definitely having that next time. I had the two breast plate, the chicken itself dwarfed my plate. The Mac was also tasty. I'm a saucy kind of foodie; and I love that they have hot sauce on the table. They even have a lemon pepper seasoning which was also a good addition to the chicken (not that the chicken lacked flavor) The staff was friendly! I didn't care for the service, as employees are sent directly to your car to take your order with out writing anything down, there are no prices on the menu on there wall & the employees don't know the prices off the top of their head, they also take your card for payment after that without telling you the total. All that to say my order was incorrect, I feel like I was overcharged and I didn't get the correct receipt back with my card, so when I went to dispute my incorrect order and charges they really couldn't help me or go off my word since someone else had my receipt. I also wasn't given any utensils sauce or seasoning that I had originally asked for. Overall the meal was good including the mashed potatoes and sweet tea. Our go-to spot to get fried gizzards and livers whenever we are visiting Texas because California does not have this. The staff here are pretty friendly, and the gentleman that took our order when we went inside the establishment kept us updated about our order due to us having to wait for a new batch of fried livers. He even apologized for the wait, even though the apology wasn't needed; we didn't mind waiting a few minutes. We ordered the 12 pcs of livers and 12 pcs of the gizzards/livers mix, and although it was 12 pcs, I still wasn't able to finish all of it entirely. It honestly feels like its more than 12 pcs (I didn't count). My daughter got the kids' chicken tenders meal, and she was able to finish everything in her meal, which is pretty rare. Normally, I take her finishing her meal meaning that she really enjoyed the meal. This will definitely be one of the places that I will be missing when I return to California, so I am enjoying it as much as I can! read more

This location needs more reviews. I've been here twice (once for dine-in and again for drive thru). The lines were never crazy with their efficient ordering process (3 lanes!). The first time we went it was in the late afternoon and I had the two piece chicken meal (breast and wing) with mac & cheese. The breast could be a little on the dry side so be sure to order a dark piece if you want something juicy. The chicken is always well season and crispy so no issues there. We also got a side order of corn nuggets for sharing. It's pretty good and I decided to order it again. They have Texas Pete hot sauce so make sure you grab some packets (or ask for a bottle if you're dine-in). The second time around we ordered the 10 piece family meal with coleslaw and corn nuggets. On Tuesdays they have a free gallon of iced tea if you order any family meal. Drinks are 50% off as well from 2-5pm. Pretty good deal if you ask me. read more

Don't be intimidated on the car line outside as there are three lines so pick the one with the least amount of cars. Went for lunch today 4/14/19 the place just opened this week so everything was nice, clean and new. Counter person was friendly and answered our many questions. The chicken pieces were all cooked properly and skin was crunchy. I just thought it was very plain tasting. I had to use ketchup to help with flavor. I do not like that you don't get a side with a 3 piece meal. The bread was hot and freshly prepared but again not much flavor. My wife had a two strip meal with fries as her side. She liked the chicken but the fries were just run of the mill. She loved her bread. Though they always through in an extra piece or two of the tenders, they seem like the batter to chicken ratio is high on the bread side. Excellent chicken, sides, and tea at decent prices, served quickly by friendly folks. We had a coupon for Bush's Chicken! (love the exclamation mark in the official name) and visited this location during the after-lunch period - around 3:30pm on a Wednesday afternoon. There was another vehicle ahead of us in line who'd already been served and was waiting to receive their food. Our coupon was to receive two combo meals and could choose either a two-piece chicken box or four of their crispy tenders. We both chose the tendies. I requested fried okra for my side and my wife elected corn on the cob. We of course had to try the sweet tea we'd heard a lot about. Our server was Adriana, and she came out to take our order curbside. She was polite, friendly, and quick. Very wonderful service! Now where to start with our meals? Wow! The tendies left nothing to be desired - except for more of them that is! Crispy on the outside, hot a and juicy on the inside! They aren't the biggest chicken tenders I've ever had but that' not a complaint. They're delicious and perfect, and the size shows that they're cut from normal chickens, not ones pumped full of growth hormones, which tend to dry them out and make the meat less flavorful. To go along with it we tried their house dipping sauce. Excellent. Nice and zesty, but not the run-of-the-mill Donkey Sauce copycat aioli. The gravy was just fine, nothing extraordinary but still tasty. Now about those sides... Okra was perfect. Crispy, crunchy fried crust with fresh, hot, soft okra inside. It went well when dipped in both the gravy and the sauce! My wife's corn was sellin' itself with the wonderful, buttery fragrance and the tendercrisp, sweet bite delivered on that sales pitch. They even provide the corn aficionado with a strong wooden stick to make sure you don't lose hold when you no doubt go hard on that tasty morsel of corn. Their soft rolls give you that nice yeasty chew you know you love, and are fantastic when dipped into that white gravy. The tea, well, I'll admit that I made a mistake with the tea. I'm used to most places' tea which is served at room temp and they put far too much ice in and it gets watered down. Not so here. We got the tea with easy ice and Adriana gave it to us exactly how we ordered it. Then when we sit down and tear into our delightful dinner meals, we get a sip of tea that is strong and concentrated just like mom used to make. My 4 tender plate, which came with 5 very small colorless pieces of chicken. They were dry and had little or no flavor...the gravy did help...the Fries were good and hot....Mac and cheese was forgettable...Corn Nuggets were great!!....Rolls were fresh and the Tea hit the spot. Really good chicken for fast food. The gravy is amazing! Customer service is great, the lines move smoothly. I think the only downside are the sides. The fries are a bit bland- as well as the Mac. These are the only sides I've had thus far, maybe I need to branch out and find something els. They have jalapeño poppers which are tasty. I have always had a great experience going to Bush's, from the friendly service to the great food.

Having grown up in the Waco area, I have been a longtime fan of Bush's chicken. I've been to numerous locations, and each time the experience was great. This was the first time I've ever had a bad experience at Bush's. Chicken was lukewarm and lacked the seasoning usually associated with Bush's. Fries were passable, only item that stood out was the coleslaw. To top it off, of the four young ladies working the register, only one did any consistent work taking orders and helping customers. Definitely don't have a good system when you pull up to order. Don't give me an excuse with shift changes. I even told an employee we were next and she moved on. I'm usually a pretty understanding person. It has to get bad for me to post. We have 2 kids with autism. They see things happening around them and ask why cars after us get helped. It becomes an issue. Ended up helping 4 cars before us. Then told us it was shift change. That's for the reasoning but put something into place to avoid issues like this and if someone honks the horn to get your attention as the 3rd person is getting helped ahead of you you should stop and listen. Just got bad enough where that seems quite unfair to add an extra 10 minutes to our wait just to order food. As my window down trying to get peoples attention to nicely ask but didn't help. They had the gravy already prepped in cups under a lamp. The bread was sitting out in a tray on the counter. The tenders had been sitting out under a lamp for who knows how long.
