Thoroughly impressed with this location! I don't care for Golden Chick, honestly, but they're fish is really good! Always been a fan of their fish. My son & I split the fish combo, (5 halved fillet pieces-not nuggets, 1 good sized side, roll & large drink) added on another roll & those DAMN corn nuggets, and the 3 cookie deal, lol and spent less than $15. Ate inside. As old as this place is, building wise, it was spotless! Friendly folks working there, AMAZING pellet ice & food was hot and fast. I have always liked this restaurant. When we go, we always get the 3 tender deal. 3 tenders, fries, gravy, fresh roll, and a drink. It is always a win for me, and my son. It always hits the spot. The drive through line seems to always go pretty fast. The food is always fresh, it has always been hot to the touch when I go through. If they feel like the tender size falls short, they always put in a few extra pieces, whitch always makes my day. We are always driving in from Manor to partake, and if we just can not wait till we get home it is fresh, and hot, and even if we wait to get home, it is still warm when we get home from the 20 minute ride. Good size drink comes with the 3 tender deal as well, enough for the ride, and with your meal once you reach home. Never dissappointed! Filling, hot, and fresh, and satisfying. The young Hispanic guy who is at the window is the best. Always friendly, and makes me smile. The owner, he has good days, and bad days, but hey, don't we all. It is business... I've been coming to this place for about 2 years. They are very rude, and not very welcoming. They just say what you want to order? No how can i help etc. POOR customer service ask the way. This was our first time visiting- This place was just disappointing... The service was super slow and cashier was rude. As for the food- the breading on the chicken fingers were extremely soggy and completely flavor-less! The Mac & Cheese was watery and the dirty rice was super sticky, as if it had been cooked just a bit too long. The sweet tea was good though- that's why I gave it one star! Came in last week with my family and were greeted as soon as we entered, place was clean and food smelled great. I have never been to a Golden chick so to be honest I was a bit surprised on how great the roasted chicken was, some of the best I've ever tasted. Staff was very polite and made us feel like true guests. So I've since gone back two times this week and am equally addicted to the golden tenders and roasted chicken. The manager remembered me from my first visit and that really tells me that he cares about his patrons. This place has become one of my "go to" places. The only thing I wish they could improve on is the mashed potatoes. read more

So I am officially on fast food strike. We went to Golden Chick after two appointments because it was convenient. We had two sleeping babies and we were tired. Get home eat and drink my tea. I go to eat my ice and this is what I find. A BUG. A NASTY ASS BUG. When I call to complain the manager CHAD offers to refund one meal. I asked him if he was serious and repeated that what occurred was nasty. He offers to refund both meals. Again I say that what occurred was nasty. He says, "yes I know, but it happens." SERIOUSLY? I accept both refunds and hang up because at that point the conversation is dead. I want everyone that is on my page to know how nasty Golden Chick in Pflugerville is. This is probably the worst Golden Chick I've encountered so far. The cashier (Josef, if that's her real name) was very rude when taking my order and when I inquired about the dressings available she became agitated and said .50 each, I asked what kind and she kept repeating.50 each. I went to my car to get 1.00 for the dressings when I returned she just ignored me until she saw that I wasn't leaving. At this point she asked again for.59 each for the dressing which I paid but it really agitated her to have to ring up my purchase again. This has nothing to do with the price of anything but without being stereotypical this person should not have been on the register with the awful attitude because she did not understand English. Terrible...Let me say this franchise has some improvements but not only that, the chicken they service was very marginal so not sure if it's the chain or the owner of the store in Pflugerville. Let me start by saying I made a last minute decision to go to the Golden Chick instead of Bush' Chicken in round Rock, due to the fact it was closer to where I lived. Big mistake! I won't send a huge message here, but the main issues were: 1. Came to order an 8 piece meal and was told I needed to wait five minutes for 4 more pieces as it was not ready, five minutes isn't not forever but an eternity when you are in a drive-thru. then...almost 9 minutes later I got my chicken, along with the other chicken that apparently sat in the container long enough to DROP THROUGH THE BOTTOM OF THE BOX, into my lap as I took out the box to check my total order sitting in my car. Add to that, the chicken leaves something to be desired. I opened the box and what should have been four pieces of chicken looked more like 2 and 1/4 pieces of meat...chicken?? not sure. I live in Pflugerville, but I won't be one of those moms that just eats there out of convenience, I want a place to give my money that knows how to keep people coming back. The only Golden Chick I've ever been to that charges you for sauces with your tenders. I've been to dozens of others that were like everyone else and gave sauce with tenders. Won't be coning back yo this location. Ridiculous. read more

Mr Tony the so called "manager" is out of line and very rude to customers and doesn't wanna admit to his unprofessional screw ups by his employees working with him! As a fast food restaurant, this place is good! Prompt and courteous customer service without fail each visit. This may be due to the fact that they seem to employee front end male servers exclusively and I'd personally rather deal with these drama-free, attitude-free employees. The price is a little steep, but this place hooks you up with an extra tender or so with each purchase. read more

Golden Chick has some pretty tasty chicken. We get the 9 piece for $9 special, which comes with potatoes and gravy. All in all, not a bad place. Better than Popeyes. Service is fast, but they are just pulling your food from under a heat lamp. I'll keep going here. read more

OMG THE SAME WOMAN WHO WAS RUDE TO US WAS RUDE TO OTHERS, I can't believe I noticed this just now. HORRIBLE SERVICE, from the same woman! I had a long long day of work and I've only eaten there once, and loved it so much I wanted to go there again, we tried ordering and this woman was just awful. She sounded so annoyed with us and ignored my friend whenever she tried to order, then she completely ignored me when I tried asking about maybe ordering some fried okra. She obviously did not want to deal with us, and I felt so bad I decided to order it to go. She grew more aggravated and I just couldn't take the disrespect anymore and asked for her name so I could complain. I work in retail so yes, I normally understand when they've had a long day and I even try to make things easy and quick. The food's edible, but check your order before you leave. I ordered roasted chicken and got fried chicken bits tenders. As expensive as this place is, it's rough having to throw away a meal, but since fried foods are revolting there's no lunch for me today. Okay let me start by saying: everyone who hates this place is completely on point with every single complaint. I want to let it be known that went to pflugerville high school; it's literally across the street and while yes I could go to Pizza Hut but I am not about to buy an entire pizza. The entire four years I went to PHS we went nearly every day to this particular golden chick (I now only stick to the Round Rock one) and every year it got worse and worse. The staff stopped giving a damn, charging for sauces and giving attitude. The Man behind the counter who has many aliases (short, mustache, gold ring, balding with a comb over) looked incredulously at me when I said I didn't want ice, after all the soda already out cold, and since there's no way to clean the ice machines who knows how many bugs people accidentally swallow. I must have figured his entire scheme of ripping people off by the look he had on his face. The food is greasy, and I don't mean good greasy where you're alright with it, more so like This Will Slide To Your Colon. They ALWAYS mess something up, no straws, missing chicken, soggy cold fries, no napkins. Name it, they've done it wrong. The prices just do not match the quality. Im bilingual, so when I spoke English and got nowhere with the cashier I transitioned to Spanish and she still acted like she didn't know what the hell I was saying, she stood there looking through me and I have never felt so disrespected.
