This place has really good food and very affordable. It's a hole in the wall, definitely needs updating and probably a good cleaning. I'm not sure if I want to know the last time their floor was mopped. However, if you want good chicken and lots of sides this is the place to go. After looking at how expensive KFC has become over the years like an 8 piece with sides is about $35 with tax and the 4 piece taste with sides is around $22 I decided to try this place. The four piece with frys, coleslaw and a dinner roll is $10 bucks flat. The place was very busy on a Friday evening with non stop phones and that means one of two things, the chicken is really good or the prices are very appealing. The place is very outdated and dumpy looking. I ordered the 4 piece dinner to go because it's carry out only and my order was ready in about 5 minutes so it's not cooked to order. For $10 flat it looked pretty good and very reasonable for a dinner now days. The roll was an average commercial dinner white bread lump. The coleslaw was a commercial average fine diced creamy style. The frys were the average frozen crinkle lightly seasoned. The chicken was not the greasy fried style but more of a beer battered fish style seasoned mildly. The children was not moist and juicy like some places but more dry like it was made in advance and sitting around like the food fried chicken that was made a couple hours earlier Walmart style. I ate it a couple hours after I picked it up and to be fair but it was still crunchy and not greasy at all like left over fried chicken. My stars are based on Service not food Quality- their food has always been awesome. I placed my order at 5:42PM 2/1/25 ($30 for delivery). I called to check on my order at 710PM as I felt that I should have had my food delivered by then. The person that answered the phone told me that my order would be there shortly and apologized stating they got slammed. It happens. I clarified I was checking because sometimes my address 6928 gets confused with a house east of me 6828 and I was hungry. He said (was my first solid clue) it's an easy enough mistake to make. So I patiently waited for my delivery. 10 minutes later I get a call from a different person at GC stating there was a mix up with my order and it was mis delivered.....really, I was lied to? It took another 30 minutes to get my delivery. No discount, refund only Sorry there was a mix up. Stuff happens, but don't lie to me, your customer, if you expect me to continue patronizing your establishment. read more

The best thing about GC is that you don't have to wait untl Fridays, you can get a bucket of fish every day. we have to do pick up because we are out of their delivery area.We also tried the breaded pork chops for something different. %he only downfall is they don't open until 4 pm. an 11 or even a2o'clock opening would be nice read more

This was a delivery person working for Golden Chicken West Allis 89th Greenfield Ave! She dug in her butt and threw a wet urine & poop stained napkin on my porch table!! Was nice to stop in quick for a to-go order! No seating inside but ordering at the counter was easy and food was made and packaged quickly. Ordered the fish sandwich and fries for FOUR DOLLARS - Great deal for what I received. Typical fish sandwich, but it hit the spot. I'm looking forward to ordering the chicken next time. Almost 3 hours later received food after calling to see when they would arrive told them how long I was waiting and told rudely I couldn't have been waiting that long.then the food was so bad rubber old fish and chicken so tuff I couldn't chew through it .everything rancid old and tuff.i had to throw it all out. I just placed a huge order for Christmas eve. 12/24/19. All the food was amazing and fresh. Ordered 2 large pizza's, a bucket of chicken, mini taco's to go with my taco salad I made, breaded mushrooms, fries, coleslaw, onion rings, potatoes and gravy, extra garlic bread to fill 10 people. Everyone love it and I was super impressed. The delivery person was super nice, said "Merry Christmas" I gave him a 20 dollar tip, I know how hard it is to work when you'd rather be with family but he was very sweet and not rushed. The people who answered the phones were very nice and the food was HOT and super awesome. Great chicken dinner: I think it is broad red, not fried because it was not as greasy. Ready in only 25 minutes (we ordered 24 pieces for a party that day!) Their pizza is also good if you like ultra thin crust, which isn't my favorite but it is perfect for my hubby and daughter. read more

The fried chicken here is really tasty. The skin is very crispy and delicious while the meat is moist and juicy. The chicken has a good seasoning that enhances the flavor. They now how to make chicken just right. One thing that I really love about this place is the ambiance. I feel like if John Candy was still alive he would be hanging out here. This place reminds me of an establishment that was once nice but over time has slowly turned into a "dive." However, it still maintains all the high quality food and people that makes this place a local gem with character rather than just another dive. There were several restaurants like this that I would frequently visit during my childhood and being here reminds me of all the fantastic food and down to earth people that make places like this great. While I waited for my order to get made, I watched the workers run out to make deliveries, chat with customers, and work busily on the numerous orders. Many customers visited during the wait for my order and Golden Chicken was an unexpected location for some enjoyable people watching. Unfortunately, there aren't a bunch of tables here so don't plan on eating here. Golden Chicken has plenty of tasty choice options like pizza, fried fish, ribs, and shrimp. All those foods beside the pizza can be served in bucket form...hell yeah! Hello... This afternoon... March 16, 2019... At 4:45 P.M.... I contacted Golden Chicken West Allis, Wisconsin location via telephone call and I talked to the male business owner. I called him back in short order and ended up ordering the current special 16 Piece Fish and Chips for $21.95 plus tax. There was a delivery charge of $1.75 making my order total come to $25.08 prior to adding the tip for the delivery driver. At 5:30 P.M. I called the business owner again at the urging of my woman about using a $1.00 off coupon that was undated. This coupon was from an older menu so I decided to call ahead to avoid any arguments with the delivery driver at my front door. The male business owner told me that the $1.00 off coupon would be honored without any problem from the delivery driver. Once the delivery driver arrived things went south quickly... He told me that since I ordered a special that was already discounted by $3.00 the coupon was not valid for acceptance. The coupon did not state this and simply stated that it was valid for orders of shrimp or fish of 14 pieces or for more pieces. The delivery driver was argumentative and unprofessional continuing to argue loudly in the background as I called the male owner back. The male owner heard this and sounded stressed as I told him about the delivery driver being adamant about the coupon not being valid. The male owner put his wife on the telephone and she got right down to business about honoring the coupon and telling the driver personally. I THANK HER FOR CLEARING THIS SITUATION UP PROMPTLY. AS A PAYING CUSTOMER I WILL NOT TAKE BEING TRIFLED WITH!!! THE FOOD WAS SPOT ON AS ALWAYS AND I KNOW IT ALWAYS IS. THIS REVIEW IS FOCUSED ON THE RUDE AND SARCASTIC DELIVERY DRIVER THAT MISHANDLED OUR EXPERIENCE. The food here is classic. If you grew up in the West Allis area you grew up loving Golden Chicken. Sometimes it can be a bit too greasy, sometimes too dry, but sometimes they get it PERFECT and the chicken is juicy and tender. The one area where Golden Chicken needs to step it up is their customer service. Whoever answers the phone is honestly an awful person. Rude, unhelpful, and sounds just plain annoyed at her job. My husband , who is hard of hearing by the way, called to order and had a hard time hearing the girl so he gave the phone to me. I picked up and could hear her talking bad about him. Just wanted to write a quick review. We order for delivery from here all the time. We are right on the farthest edge of their delivery area, and it takes about an hour for them to deliver, but the food is always piping hot and fresh. For a nice change from the typical delivery places, I highly recommend Golden Chicken. It's nice to have someplace to order from that isn't the typical pizza or Chinese. Anyway, about the food. I'm not fond of their pizza - the sauce is a bit too sweet for me, however their chicken is really good. Always moist and really good tasting breading/coating/skin. I also really love their fries, they have good cole slaw, and their dinner rolls are tasty too. The price can't be beat either. Just this Wednesday we ordered a 12 piece bucket of chicken, with fries, slaw and a 2L soda, and it was about $20 (including delivery, but not tip). I'm a VERY picky eater and have been getting coupons from this place for years in those penny saver mailers, and decided to try them out. It was very fast delivery especially for how crappy the weather was. We got a lot of food for the money we spent. And it was good food, the chicken was crispy outside and moist inside. The ribs fall right of the bones, the gravy was yummy although the mashed potatoes nothing special (boxed) but the crinkle fries were good, and you know how leftover fries are gross? I reheated them today in the oven at 350° for 10min and they were still good!! It's nice to have delivery that isn't pizza only or jimmy johns. I will order again and would recommend this place. I've been eating here for years--first at home with my parents, now in my own home. I LOVE their chicken, both regular and BBQ. Their fries are great, love their coleslaw, hubby loves their rolls (as did my dad), and this time we even got a container of corn! Their ribs are also fantastic.
