The item that was good was thr lettuce wrapped chicken, but the pad Thai with rice noodles and lemon chicken. Not great. It says lemon chicken, but it comes out with breading. I can't eat wheat. The server didn't know anything about the menu. They wouldn't return something that the description didn't fully explain so I had to pay for it. Another go to spy for Chinese fast food. Overall the food is good quality. I'm a creature of habit and I tend to get the orange chicken and bbq pork but there are times when I'll order the house special fried rice or chow menu with chicken and shrimp. Service is always great. The ladies in the front are always courteous when I go and never have any issues. The place does get really hot at times especially in the summer which is a bummer when they have folks eat in their place and the AC isn't turned on. They had at least 5 or more trays empty and didn't want to make more of any of the items except the orange chicken . What was left didn't look appetizing it all looked old. Upon getting home to eat I realized they had literally only gave me four pieces of orange chicken hardly any meat in my other side. This has been the worst experience yet at this place. It's a typical 1, 2, or 3 combo plate with a pick and choose or point at what you want dish. They do have options to order a la carte for dishes that aren't in the buffet (like eggplant w/tofu and shrimp fried rice). I ordered the 3 combo plate and picked noodles, spicy orange chicken, bbq pork, and jalepeno chicken. Also added a la carte, fried pepper chicken and 2 eggrolls (1 veg, 1 chicken w/ veg). Shared this order with mom. There was more than enough food for 2 people. They gave generous portions and really packed the container full (almost too full). We chose to dine in. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. It was ok. The best dish was the spicy orange chicken and second the bbq pork. The pepper chicken was disappointing. It got cold and wasn't crispy. The eggrolls were OK. The vegetable one was better than the one with chicken. The dipping sauce was standard out of a jar from a local asian market. Not good, tasted off somehow. The jalepeno chicken was ok (tried once and done). The staff were not the friendliest. They were bare minimum on customer service. They all had slight sour faces. Not the most inviting atmosphere. I always get the plate just today I decided for some wonton soup now I've tried their wonton soup before like probably a year ago and it was good and smelled good but today I was surprised that it wasn't the same I was very disappointed but I had to eat because I'm that person doesn't want the food to go to waist and it cost well the smell was not pleasant it smelled old funky idk how to describe it and it had a lot of mushrooms and some other thing I never seen in it before but anyways if you like wonton try it but for me it wasn't good at all I had to add lots of chili and lime. Let me start by saying I absolutely love their food, and a majority of the time when I find myself in Lake Elsinore I also find myself tempted to pick up their food. I always leave feeling satisfied. However the reason they only got 3 stars from me is because neither the chefs or the cashiers were wearing hair nets, and the cashiers were not using any gloves. I couldn't see the cooks so don't know about them. I don't know if it's due to me being more cautious from Covid-19, or the fact that I could tell the cashier packing the food into the to go boxes had a cut on her thumb, but this is the first time I felt uncomfortable getting food here. I couldn't get a close enough look at her thumb to tell how old the cut was or if it may have been mostly healed, I just know I could see the red mark. Asian palate point of view. Orange chicken barley made the average line. Spicy green beans with chicken slightly below average. I had the white rice with chow main. This was my first visit to Golden Chopstix. I ordered fried rice. I appreciate that they gave me a generous portion in a Styrofoam container. As I carried the food to my car, the pungent odor of the food was awful. It didn't have that usual sweet, delicious fragrance of fried rice. When I tried to eat it, the rice was deeply saturated with garlic and soy and tasted quite vinegary. I really tried to eat the rice because I didn't want to waste it, but after maybe ten bites I couldn't tolerate the bitter taste and smell of the food, and I threw the entire serving down the garbage disposal.
