Lots of desserts and the pot roast was a bit dry but the butterfly shrimp made up for it However my experience was terrible thanks to the tall skinny white guy who was cooking the steaks. I stood in line to get a steak and told him medium rare. He put a burnt piece of steak on my plate and walked away to put new steaks on the grill. I sat down upset and found out a family member was giving a medium steak that he refused to eat so I traded with him. Before leaving I wanted to discuss my experience with the steak guy so he wouldn't mess up other people food. He denied the whole thing and told me that never happened. I asked one of the waitress for his name but she didn't know. I left giving him the middle finger. From now on -- place a number by each steak photo. 1 for rare and 5 for burnt ( well done). I think the price is very reasonable for what you can get. There was a variety of options to choose from. Up before you get to the cash register. I when asking the register person if I needed to drink here, I could not get an answer from a very unfriendly employee. I paid and took my seat. Sat there for a while waiting for a waitress. I did not see any plates to get my food. Finally noticed plates and utensils tucked back against the wall . The food was fresh and tasty. From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm and welcoming. Everyone greeted us with a smile and made us feel right at home. The buffet was fresh, well-stocked, and had an impressive variety. My issue is not the food. It is the millions and millions of germs on the tongs that hundreds of people every day are putting their germs on that are a cause for your next cold or flu or maybe a worse sickness. Just take a look at all these dirty nasty looking people and think, "are their hands clean?" If the Health Dept. was to analyze the germs they find we all probably faint. This is one of the best places to go if you are looking for a quality buffet. They offer a huge salad area as well as a grilling station for great steaks. On Friday through Sunday they open at 7am to serve an all you can eat breakfast then at 11am they change it over for lunch. They also offer one of the best dessert buffets including ice cream, pies, cakes and so much more. You can't beat it for the price you pay. Food: Overall I think the food average to good for taste. Where they really excel is the selection options. Its hard to beat all the different things they have to choose from. Service: Its usually pretty good more times than not. I have a had a few disappointing visits but typically the service and personalities are good. Management: My biggest complaint this time is that they require you to pay up front which has been their policy for a LONG time. What has changed is being able to include the tip on your Debit / Credit card. You used to be able to ask for a certain amount and they would give you cash. Then you can decide based on the service how much tip you want to leave. Now ( At least at this location) They print out a ticket and give it to the server to cash out at the end of their shift. My only problem with this is that I have to decide how much tip to leave before I have even had service. In most cases this is not a problem however on a few occasions I have have subtracted from my planned tip due to poor / inconsistent service. I voiced this complaint to a Mgr, who was dismissive saying I was the first to ever complain and no other customers have been bothered. (That he knows of). read more

They have changed over the years so the servers only gather dirty plates and refill drinks. Utensils are given to you when you pay and you grab your own plates. The yeast rolls are amazing and a quick way to add a few hundred calories! The prices are decent--about $11 during the week for lunch. Oh my this is a dangerous place. I've been a couple times. There's so many food stations I never know where to begin. The staff is super courteous. The line usually moves pretty fast to order and grab a seat. If you go on a holiday like Veteran's Day, you'll be waiting extra but I love that they give meals on the house to Veterans. We were running late leaving Charleston and it was late enough that our choices were limited. My son saw the Golden Corral sign and all he could think of was the dessert bar. I was tired and hungry with a long drive ahead of us and agreed to go there. From the minute we arrived, it was apparent that management is lacking. The employees don't care, and it seems that no one is telling them they should. I stood in front of THREE employees at the register while they gossiped. A fourth walked up and hesitantly asked if I'd been helped. I had not. She then quickly rang me up. (I only noticed later she hadn't asked or offered me a drink. ) Continue on to the food service stations - the guy working the section where the breakfast for dinner items were is the primary reason I'm typing right now. And the reason I'm certain that the managers don't care what the employees do. The pancakes that were sitting on the line were burnt. BURNT. He just stood there. Talking on his phone through Bluetooth earphone things. Everyone who i saw go up and ask for something from him was sent elsewhere. While he stood behind the line and ate. But the worst of it was that while he talked on the phone - the f bombs were flowing like the chocolate on the dessert bar fountain. I was stunned. But too tired to care any more than anyone in charge there appeared to. He wasn't the only one eating on the job. I saw several employees doing it. They couldn't have all been on break at the same time. And breakfast bar guy definitely wasn't on break. I don't suspect this will manifest any changes at this location- it's more of a warning to other patrons. Make sure your kids have noise cancellation head phones on if you decide to dine here. A buffet that literally has everything you can imagine and at night the steak is pretty good! During the day, Pot Roast and Fried Chicken is amazing along with the baked chicken. I also was very surprised when I said one thanksgiving, screw it, let's not spend a fortune and time cooking a full dinner just for a couple of people and 4 of us went and the Turkey, Steak was actually pretty great Tasting! The turkey was juicy and tender, had a great taste and the steak, I found myself going back for more as it was terrific!
