    Bruschetta lacking

Oscar's, when someone orders Bruschetta, it's implied that there will be more than two slivers of a dice of tomato. You price it high, but this is the second time I've ordered it to go and you skimped. When I dine in it has it covering the bread. Do better.

The shrimp and grits were delicious and Trey was an amazing server for our table!!! The air conditioned pagoda area was a nice way to experience the greenery while eating in an enclosed space. We enjoyed our stop here on our travels back to VA!

Here is my update: I have been a few times since my review years ago and things have been a lot better. Never had other issues with my food, everything is tasty, the staff is great, the place is clean, and they have done some renovations to the space to create an enclosed patio. Definitely improved since my initial review!

The only thing we're disappointed with is that it took until our 14th anniversary to make this grand discovery. We booked reservations last minute to celebrate, and it was the best decision we could have made. First they brought out the best bread either of us have ever had with our wine. Then we had oysters on the half shell and mozzarella half moons for appetizers. They were both wonderful and the cheese pull was amazing. For our main entree, my husband had the prime rib with mashed sweet potatoes and spinach. He is still going on about the spinach being amazing and the prime rib cut like butter. I had the chicken carbonara and it was literally the best pasta I've ever tasted. We're both already itching to go back for more. For desert I had the caramel xango and he had the banana's Oscar. Both were absolutely amazing. Our waitress Tiffany was the cherry on top of our experience. She was so helpful when we had questions about the wine and good before ordering and never let our glasses get empty. Overall this was an amazing experience

Haven't been to this old classic in decades, but when I was growing up it was known as "the fancy restaurant". It was definitely showing its age on first approach but was pretty packed when we took MIL for a family "Fakesgiving" last Thursday. We had a reservation, but the parking situation was frustratingly insufficient. Hubby had to drop us ladies at the door and cruise around looking for parking. We joined the rest of the family and were seated in the addition to the left of check-in. It felt like a church rec room. It appeared to be a deck addition that was walled off to turn it into a room. It was very utilitarian and completely lacking in ambiance. My childhood impression of this as a "fancy" place was dispelled. Our waiter, Calvin, was charming and spectacular. He was attentive without hovering, appearing with perfect timing to top up tea or water. We ordered appetizers for the table and enjoyed our beverages. The fried calamari was good, lightly breaded and not rubbery. The grouper bites were delicate and flaky. The cold crab dip was meaty but underwhelming, with the crab flavor lost under the paprika. It would have been better warm. The legendary she-crab soup was nice and meaty, loaded with sherry and worth the fuss. My shrimp and grits were fair, with plenty of big beautiful shrimp. The grits were white and well-cooked, if a bit lacking in their own flavor. The shrimp and sauce were the stars. The mushrooms had no business being there and found themselves adorning hubby's steak, where they fit much better. The one that slipped by was an unwelcome and off-putting bite, not working with the shrimp. Everyone enjoyed their entrees including the baked scallops, the salmon, the fried combo, and the ribeye. We were too full for dessert, so I missed out on trying the Bananas Oscar. The service and food are excellent and good. The prices are fair for the quality of food, and you can't get a 6 dollar cup of better she-crab soup anywhere. If you want ambiance, make sure they are seating you in the dining room proper. I didn't get to see inside, but it can't be worse than the addition. Might try again with just the hubby, and save room for dessert!

Supposed to be medium and was too rare for me. Waiter was not accommodating, no exceptions made. Sheez.

I traveled 800 miles to attend my sister's golden anniversary remembrance dinner that was held at Oscar's. There was a set menu that stated the steak would be cooked medium. I asked if I could have it cooked a bit more and was told "no, all the steaks are cooked medium" I was then served a rare steak which I could not eat, I asked for a go box (my hotel room has a microwave) and was told that go boxes ate not allowed at these dinners. I went to look for the manager for permission to get a go box and the waiter came back and said I could have a box. The people seated around me all had eatable steaks not rare like mine. I really cannot recommend this restaurant.

The tartare was excellent! The oysters had a strange taste that I was not a fan of. However, I do want to mention my dirty martini was phenomenal!! For my entree, I ordered the 8oz filet mignon, medium-rare. As soon as the server put the plate in front of me, they whipped out a flashlight, shined it on my plate and asked me to cut into the middle of the steak to ensure it was cooked correctly. This bothered me for multiple reasons: 1.) for a restaurant of this caliber, I would expect the chef to know if my steak is cooked correctly and 2.) I like to cut into my steak at the end not the middle. It was cooked correctly but it was not as juicy/flavorful as I hoped it would be. The sides for our table were the most impressive part of my meal; perfect mashed potatoes and probably one of the best creamed spinaches I've ever had! Oddly enough, it was more crunchy than creamy but somehow it worked and tasted delicious. I've had both better and worse steakhouse experiences but at this price point, I expected just a tad bit better. I would still recommend checking this place out and deciding for yourself ;)

The service has always been on point, food and has consistently been delicious, which makes it onto our favorites list. Ambiance is nice. Make sure to make reservations, they fill up quickly. We've arrived just before the door was unlocked and there was already a line to be seated. Yes, they're that good!

It's miles of smiles at Myles & Jun Yakitori in Summerville, SC!…read moreThis place has been on our radar for a while but we don't get out to Summerville that often, but this time we took the bull by the horns and went with the sole purpose of eating at Myles & Jun and we are so glad we did! I recommend making a reservation. We did not but Ms. Myles graciously accommodated our table for 2. A few hours prior we checked and reservations were wide open, but by the time we got there, they were pretty booked. The staff is wonderful and the food is made with care. Simply delicious! We began with a cup of their clear broth that was light and flavorful and cleansed our palettes for the grilled meats to come. At the suggestion of Ms. Myles, we had the Crispy Pork for an appetizer. Nice and crisp pieces of pork whose fat was properly rendered back into the meat. A lot of places miss this important step. It was served with a luscious white sauce and lightly vinegared hot sauce. Then we went right into their specialty- Yakitori We had one of each of the following: Momo- chicken Thigh Chicken Tenderloin with Yuzu Honey Glaze Australian Wagyu Beef- they offer American Wagyu, and A5 Japanese Kobe as well Bacon Wrapped Crab- high quality Crab stick wrapped in bacon..this was a standout for me. So rich and full of Umami Ribeye We finished the meal off with a plate of Beef Yaki-Udon. The depth of flavor was incredible and again the Umami took center stage. Interesting fact: They have been at this location for 31 years opening first as an Italian restaurant! Myles has been in Charleston for 40 years and is an icon in the Food and Bev industry. She was most recently recognized by Congress for her impact on the Charleston food scene. We were greeted with a smile and left with a hug. Can I give the waitress Kate 10 stars please?…read more This young lady was so kind. She inquired about a picture I had of my late wife. When I explained that I take her with me she teared up and gave me a beautiful hug for sympathy. She deserves to be recognized for her sweetness and compassion. I can't thank her enough for her kindness.

Normally we avoid going out on Saturday night like the plague! Who wants that headache? Well today…read moreit happened. We had not eaten all day. We decided on TexasRoadHouse because they have the wait list app. A wonderful piece of technology, we would be seated in approximately 20 minutes, WOW! That place was seriously packed. I was thinking we messed up. We are going to be there for hours and I'm tired. We were seated and our beautiful waitress (Kia) was so sweet. Her section was double seated. Twice the tables she should be waiting on. Again thinking this was a bad mistake. We told her we were sorry because she had so much going on in her section. She said, "Don't worry I got this." And she did, our orders came out perfect and quickly. Kudos to the kitchen staff. I would've taken pictures, but I had no intention of posting a review. But after the service and the food which was delicious by the way, how could I not? If you're ever in the TexasRoadHouse in North Charleston, South Carolina on Rivers Avenue you will be darn lucky if your waitress is Kia!
