Since living in Charleston, we've been to every Moose (mostly the old East Bay location) many times and enjoyed the vibe. Chill, half outdoor/half indoor, "come as you are", and a solid happy hour. We appreciate that food and booze are included in the happy hour menu AND it goes until 7. Service is always friendly and eager to please. We stopped by the Moose on our way to a Yelp! event, sat down, ordered the happy hour menu, and had a few drinks. We've always loved the buffalo flavored wings, fries, and all the unique sauces. Cool place. Decent food. Too bad it's ruined by their politics. Witnessed them kick a group out for a personal conversation they were having with their friends that apparently wasn't aligned with the bartender's politics. Didn't even try to listen to both sides of the story, they just immediately took the side of the 'victims' (the same 'victims' who instigated the situation and elbowed the one guy who was trying to deescalate things). I ordered the duck BLT with fries cooked in duck fat, and wow--easily one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The sandwich was perfectly balanced, rich without being overwhelming, and those fries? Completely next level. Crispy, flavorful, and honestly addictive. We also tried the wings, which were just as impressive--perfectly cooked with great flavor and just the right amount of kick. To top it all off, their rotating cocktail was creative, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the food. This is no ordinary dive bar. This place is very cool. Obviously popular and it was full considering it was a Monday lunch. We started with the alligator bites. The batter was flavorful and the marinara was good but the alligator was chewy. Not amazing but good. Not sure I would have it again. Not sure is the operative word. Wife orders the chicken club with Mexican corn. Both were nice very tasty and big portions. Very nice. Well done to the team I had the duck club sandwich. This is a wild & cool spot!! This place is very eclectic with customer writings and taxidermy creatures all over the walls. Seems like the type of place where anything goes... My husband and I came here right after we landed in Charleston as the vibe attracted us (and we were starving!). I ordered the habanero honey mustard wings and my husband got the chicken salad sandwich with pork rinds. My wings were fabulous! They tasted extra-crunchy like they were double-fried. The flavor was great; habanero was hot enough to taste but not overwhelming and the honey mustard flavor also came through. I tried my husband's pork rinds, which were also super-crunchy and a nice surprise alternative to the usual fries that normally come with sandwiches. We love The Tattooed Moose in Park Circle. The location is great, the atmosphere is laid-back and fun, and the overall environment just feels right every time. I love the outdoor area, but it's also just as good inside. The staff is always so nice, the drinks are consistently good, and the food never misses. The spicy fried chicken sandwich is a favorite, along with the pork rinds and the house-made pickles and onions. Everything is just done really well. After leaving the Teagarden tour today, we decided to go to the tattooed Moose and I will tell you that it's been the best restaurant that we've experienced on our girls trip yet! From the blue cheese duck convey french fries the Smashburger, the Sammy and the most gorgeous looking chocolate cake. Every one of us were overjoyed. I will forever be a fan of tattooed moose and their duck club sandwich. I visited the North Charleston location that's located in park circle with outdoor seating at picnic tables and bar seats. Inside you'll find more bar seating and a few four top tables scattered through as well as a couple of arcade games and TVs to watch the latest game. The staff was nice and friendly, the food was amazing as always (it's called the famous duck club for a reason) and the vibes immaculate. I visited on a Saturday night and it wasn't busy though this might change. They'd had an event earlier that day so I suspect everyone was worn out. (Saying this because when TM is busy it's BUSY) 10/10 will continue to be a returning customer. It's a great spot if you're looking for something with that divey feel. read more

Visited a nearby distillery and decided to try out tattooed moose for the first time. Very happy we did. We arrived and were told that the inside had about a 20-25 min wait, but outside could be immediate. No problem there, the outside was covered and had outdoor fans so it was perfect even for a stifling Charleston day. Immediately greeted by our waiter who was super friendly and grabbed our drink order. Drinks came quickly and we were ready to place our food order. Waited less than 10 min and the food was already out to us. Awesome. We Had a kids meal of a cheeseburger & fry (only $5.50- thanks Tattooed Moose - excellent price!) a regular Moose burger, and a chicken sandwich made Nashville hot. The chicken sandwich was so good! I was always a sceptic of pimento cheese but this sandwich changed my mind. The duck fat fries were good. I had specifically wanted to visit for those fries- and they were good. Not bad. I had the lowcountry Cuban and a side of chili, and nibbled on some of the fries. The Cuban was insanely greasy. I cannot express how greasy it was. I got a Cuban over the wings specifically because it looked like a healthier option and I was wrong. It was just dripping with oil and I felt super heavy after. The chili was nothing to write home about; it was bland, boring, and while it was made with short ribs, chili stews long enough for the meat to be tender no matter what cut it is. I am glad I got this as a side and didn't pay $6.50 for it, which would have been an offensive price. The duck fat fries were limp and soggy. On the plus side the service was fine. But to offset it, the vibe was terrible. They had a DJ outside playing a bunch of dance hits from the 80's and 90's and early 00's at an insanely loud volume that made conversation nearly impossible. Meanwhile the drunk patrons were screaming out the lyrics to the songs. It was like someone took a beach bar from 1997 and teleported it to Park Circle. My buddy took me to Tattooed Moose when I was visiting him in Charleston. He wanted to show me the Park Circle area where he used to live and said it's a hip area. Specifically this location was newer and had relocated from a small downtown space. We ate outside in perfect weather. There were no bugs and some light music playing. I got the Thanksgiving turkey sandwich that had stuffing and a dipping bowl of gravy. The side was some pork rind thing, so I instead upgraded to a Cesar salad and it was large and delicious. I ate most of that before gobbling my sandwich and decided to stop at half so I wouldn't get a tummy ache. My friend had the Cuban sandwich and ate it all. Our hostess and waitress were nice and photogenic. The only minor error they made was forgetting to bring out my Cesar salad early as I requested. The inside has lots of fun decor, but we chose to sit outside so we could listen to the live music. I got the thanksgiving sammy with fries, which was absolutely delicious. I went to the Tattooed Mouse for lunch with some workmates and had a great time, trying their creative sandwiches.  I know they are known for that Duck Club, but I went for THE THANKSGIVING SAMMY this time and it was so good.  The Sandwich came with a side of gravy and fixins, I do wish the bread stayed together more but who cares it was awesome!   My friend ordered the Asian style wings; I was drooling over them, I tried to trade a pickle for 1 but he did not take the bait, LOL!  I was also able to try a piece of the fried chicken sandwich and it did not disappoint, I recommend it.   I like that the Tattooed Mouse has a few locations, I work in Hanahan so popping over to their Park Circle location is super convenient.   I also love that they let Patch Whiskey paint an awesome mural outside of the building, always great to include the local artist in any business.   If you're around Park Circle, make sure you stop by the Tattooed Mouse and checked out all the awesome Sammy's they offer, make sure you tag up the wall too! read more

So while visiting Charleston for the Labor Day weekend, my husband, son and I were looking for cheap eats for dinner one evening and found this place not far from our Airbnb. When we Googled the restaurant, we thought that it was cool that it was an establishment featured on Food Network and Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. When we arrived and found free street parking which was convenient for us and our toddler. We first noticed the outdoor seating which included tables and chairs underneath an awning and also several wooden picnic tables. The Tattooed Moose also is pet-friendly and has an outdoor stage under the tree-line for outdoor live performances. Due to it being dinner time there was about a fifteen minute wait for the interior seating so we sat under a tree and enjoyed people watching and the music until our table was ready. The bar was very "divey" with an outdoorsman aesthetic. The walls are covered in patron graffiti tags, moose heads and other game busts which made it feel like a manly bar, but the place is definitely family friendly (high chairs, and arcades). There was a small stage in the middle of the dining room for live performances. The wooden bar does take up a good portion of one side of the dining room but somehow still doesn't make either area feel like an afterthought. My challenge with the layout of the restaurant is that the windows were open so there were a ton of flies all over. I didn't enjoy waving them away from us and our food every 2 minutes. For dinner, we started with an order of the Asian Style Wings. They were smoked and coated in a soy glaze. They were just okay-- nothing very special about them. My husband ordered the "Mike's Famous Duck Club Sandwich" with a side of Duck Fat Fries which was the featured dish enjoyed by Guy Fieri. He loved the sandwich. The thigh meat was tasty and moist, and the crispy bacon and smoked cheddar really made the sandwich savory. I ordered the Tattooed Moose Burger with a veggie patty and smoked cheddar with a side of the Duck Fat Fries. I thought the burger was very good and the veggie patty appeared to have been deep fried which was different from what I am used to. I loved that the fries are cut from raw potatoes in house and the duck fat lends a slightly different flavor than traditional peanut oil. We would definitely visit again the next time were in North Charleston, especially to enjoy live entertainment. read more

The menu has some serious eats and the portions do not leave you hungry. We were seated immediately and our waiter gave us the rundown. Since it was lunch we tried the lighter fare. I had the Duck Club, one of their signature sandwiches. Others had the Ceasar salad, chili, Thanksgiving sandwich, and rolls. Our food arrived promptly. Everyone's plate was clean so that's a great sign. The Duck Club was tasty but you may need to reassemble it when it arrives at your table. The chili also was a big hit. Off rip i normally do not enjoy blue cheese.. at all. There was a spot i enjoyed their buff chicken flatbread that had blue cheese baked into, but that is usually where i stop. My friend turned me onto the bluecheese fries here and i am very much hooked. They are so good and flavorful and served with a whole head of roasted garlic that you can spread across. The fries were easily the star of the show. I enjoyed my Cuban, very tasty just not on the same level as the fries.... These are a must order. read more

I stopped by this place one night while visiting Charleston and I'm soooo glad I did! The place has a fun, dive bar feel with plenty of outdoor seating as well. The fries and gravy were delish! I'm a Southern girl, so gravy has a special place in my heart and this did not disappoint. It was thick and creamy with good flavors. The sandwich easily stole the show. Stumbled upon this place and so glad I did! The atmosphere was so pleasant as we ate outside on a warm spring afternoon! The service was so friendly and the food was amazing. I got the moose burger, and it was so delicious with the pickled tomato on it and the side of homemade pork skins. My friend got the breaded chicken sandwich and it was huge and delicious also with the pickled tomato and pimento cheese. We shared a piece of street corn and it was absolutely amazing. A nice laid back atmosphere with spacious indoor seating and a lot of outdoor seating. I really wanted to try to duck club but ended up with the lucky #1 sub. I was very happy with my choice as the pork belly in the sandwich was done well and combined great with the acidity from the rice wine vinegar on the veggies and peppers. The duck fat fries were so addicting to snack on while you waited for your food and the pork rinds that came with my sandwich were light and well flavored. Service was great and very efficient. The sour beer I had was cold and paired nicely with my meal. The interior had very unique decor but still felt like an inviting atmosphere.
