While during this visit the server was extremely busy and had a smile as she took care of several tables. Unfortunately we watched as the ladies in the cold bar area failed to meet several health code violations, including picking up dropped food and placing it in the bowl. As much as I would like to partake of the cold bar items I just don't due to a recent food poisoning incident. Stick to hot foods here. The catfish was a good return to an item I always enjoy. Sadly, they apparently ran out. Brussel sprouts were hot , a change from the past. Yams were hot as usual and very tasty. Shrimp were not replaced fast enough for the crowd that was there. Liver and onions was hot for a change but no need to add celery to the mix. Carrot cake was as usual very dry and had to ad strawberry topping to get it down. There is no excuse for a long black hair to be baked inside a garlic biscuit. This was shown to several staff members. Not one of them showed the slightest degree of concern. I mentioned it to the cashier as we abruptly left. I left my name and phone number fully expecting a call from someone in a management role. Apparently management does not care either. This place was terrible for 4 reasons. Reason 1. There was hair in my food. The food was actually pretty good but after I saw the hair I almost regurgitated my food across the table. Reason 2. The staff did not care that there was a hair in my food, they were rude to me and stated that I was lying. Reason 3. The waitress took like 20 minutes to get to us and the food took another 50 minutes to get to us. Reason 4. This is the worst part, after I got home I realized that I had the runs and food poisoning. I hope that future guests don't have the same experience as me and that they also wont accidentally get diarrhea up the wall in the bathroom. i had zero service as is normal. i have to get my own drinks at the register area. but then iam expect to tip. i go in and lots of empty spaces i relax 2-3 hours. the man comes and asked me to leave. to me thats rude. its not my fault utah says employers dont have to pay restaurant employees. why should i tip for no service thats just wrong. read more

One of two major buffets close by. For breakfast, I think this is the better of the two buffets. The main reason is they don't run out of bacon. This buffet also has better fried Chicken and better meat dishes. A couple dollars less than the other one, but drinks are not included. I also think this one has a better selection of desserts. My family loves coming her for Thanksgiving dinner. The food is delicious. They have a huge variety of meat ( in case you're not a fan of turkey or ham). Many vegetables, fruits, and carbs. The desserts are not my favorite because they taste like frozen factory garbage! That's why I gave it 4 stars. The service is on point. The ambience is quaint. (It's always packed on Thanksgiving!) They are open for Thanksgiving. It's $20 (2024) for adults. Not sure how much for kids. No senior discount on Thanksgiving. read more

We had stopped going for a few years but we've come back recently and it's gone beyond our expectations. The quality of their food is top tier, and the service is always amazing. Caroline has always provided superior service and is one of the reasons we keep coming back. Ian too is always on top of it with his service. We went again recently and the food was even better than before, the chicken tenders, the option of medium rare steak, the carnitas, pork ribs and the many amazing deserts never disappoint . I am sorry to say, but the last three to four times I have been to Golden Corral . I am unable to get my delicious onion rings that I like because they are so popular or not refilled fast enough for me to get any in the 45 minutes I'm there. There's about three crumbs in the pan. The fish changed and I asked the manager what happened and he said it was seasonal. We don't like the texture. The ribs are cold and there is very little barbecue sauce on them. . I don't know if it's because there's more people coming or if they have different cooks or no cooks or what is going on but I'm taking a break for now. I am hoping the next time I go there I will have the good experiences I had earlier this year. Sorry folks I don't want to miss lead you so I had to update this review. read more

It's a fine buffet place. They have a lot of options such as a big salad bar, meat station, pasta, different side dishes, rolls, soup, a lot of dessert and much more. You will definitely fill up. Most of the meat selections were way WAY over cooked....looked like leather! Wish I could give you my recipes for baked beans and dressing because yours were SO bad. I have patronized the Fort Union Golden Corral several times over the past several years. I'm grateful for the way they have taken care of us Veterans. The only thing I ask is to do auto gratuities on my credit card. I notice my charge was about $39 when it should have been closer to $33. I usually give a good cash tip after good service there. I try to take good care of my wait staff, but it sticks in my craw when my card is overcharged after I agreed to $33. That is dishonest. I hope you will correct this matter. Thank you. read more

starting at 3 stars I will be adding and removing stars it was really crowded but considering it was Thanksgiving I get that but still -0.25 stars. when we ordered they apparently already REZERVED A SEAT FOR US?!?!?! +1 star. I went to get a plate of turkey and mashed potatoes covered in gravy with corn, I had a hard time eating the "pasta strands" of chicken but otherwise, it was really good +0.25 stars. my waiter was really cool and even called me "my man" +1star. I couldn't eat much stuffing but it was good otherwise. = 0 stars I had a bit of pumpkin pie but the person making pie, and whipped cream were great+0.75 stars. the only main complaint is that almost every time I come here I vomit, which is mainly my issue but still -0.5 stars so 7 STARS???? read more

Stopped here for dinner today. They were running behind on putting the dinner items out, so we had to wait about 30 minutes for steak, ribs, shrimp, etc. Some of the food station employees were not very friendly and they were not good about restocking certain things that ran out, especially at the dessert station. Saturday evening we couldn't decide exactly what we should eat, so we decided to do Golden Corral with all the choices! The young man who was at the register was nice and I could tell that he is good at his job. Zero wait time. Side note, they really reduced their drink selection since I've last been here years ago. We chose a spot that was fairly clean. There are so many people coming and going I can see how it would be a little more of a challenge to keep everything tidy, but it was acceptable I guess. Our waitress was nice and actually pretty attentive in clearing away our plates and bringing us refills on our drinks. Pretty good selection of foods, fried chicken, steak, ribs, mac n cheese, salad, bread, and of course desserts! The set up is fairly well done. A few times I was left waiting at the steak station because no one was manning the grill, but it's alright. I am kind of a germ phobia person, so touching all the handles and spoons that everyone else has kind of freaks me out, but they do have a few hand sanitizer stations and I thought that was a nice touch. We were full and very satisfied when we left. Overall it was a good experience, but it could use some tidying up and the buffet workers in the stations could be nicer. read more

I really wanted to give more stars. Really, I did. But my conscious can't live with it. If someone were to approach me on the street and say, "Hey--you're the guy who gave (4? 5?) stars to Golden Corral, right?" I just wouldn't feel right. But those are three enthusiastic stars up there. If you want a solid AYCE buffet experience in a convenient location, then this is your bread and butter. This location, just off of 7200 South near 700 East, is pretty convenient there in the middle of the valley. It's relatively clean, it's well-staffed by people who don't especially care to be there, but with a few who really take the job seriously, and it's got plenty of parking and seating. The food? Well, it's buffet food. Some winners (Bourbon St. Chicken, yam casserole), some losers (a few of the wing varieties right now for "Wing Fest," mac and cheese), a few surprises (chocolate fountain, cotton candy, scoop ice cream), and some perennial favorites (cut meats, soft serve ice cream). That's the whole point--there's something there for everyone. Everyone can get something that they like. If you add a beverage it's an additional $2, but they're pretty swift on the refills. Don't fill up on drinks, though. That's how they getcha. Also, a quick word about meal planning: Don't come here on holidays. Or busy times. Or times when it might be packed with kids (graduation day, family events), unless you like things messy. Kids tend to go bucknutty at buffets and the ice cream and chocolate fountain will be a mess. It will be extremely loud, and you'll be tripping over running kids if you're not careful. For families, that means you'll be right at home. If I could give zero stars I would Right off the bat this Golden Corral is the worst one I've ever been to. Walked in and the person who checked us out was very rude and eating while checking us out. The person next to her was bagging silverware with no gloves and no concern for how dirty her hands were she also turned around and got on her phone and went back to the silverware. Our server was super great and helped us a lot. Starting off with the drinks I got a lemonade and it had barely any syrup in it it tasted like water. Now to start in the food, the pineapple was not cut right and the middle part of the pineapple was still in it so you would try to bite down and it was too hard to even bite on, all of the fruit was slimey and tasted old. I had gotten the spaghetti as my first entree and the noodles sit in water all day which makes them over cooked when I took my first bite the noodles practically dissolved in my mouth they were cooked too long. The pizza was not fully cooked and the cheese was sliding off as soon as I picked it up. The crust was soggy and wet to the touch.And the steak was absolutely terrible and rubbery the guy cooking it did not have gloves or a hairnet on. No disregard for cross contamination at all. And the last thing I had gotten was the chicken which was the dealbreaker for me I cut it open and it was raw and undercooked. So we wanted to try dessert because you can't go wrong with dessert. The pie crust was super undercooked you could see it when you picked it up to put it on your plate. The brownies were bland and cold. And the cookies were stale. The only good thing at this Golden Corral was the ice cream. You guys really need a health department check and new employees who care about how the food tastes. read more

My family comes to this restaurant every couple weeks. The service is good, they are pretty clean. We've had a few incidences in the past; chicken not being fully cooked, meatloaf overcooked, and my last visit was at the start of the lunch rush and NONE of the salad items were stocked, barely any lettuce, no spinach out, it was a bit upsetting as that is a main reason to attend a buffet like this. It would also be nice if they actually drained their lettuce, it's always sopping wet! It could use a bit of upkeep on these things, but they are pretty good. I visited recently while visiting my son and, frankly, not much had changed since the last time I was here. Is this a good or bad thing? I'm not super picky about the food I eat and since I typically have a few kids in tow, eating at a buffet with tons of variety is usually a good option. This location was relatively clean by family buffet standards and the food had pretty good flavors. My only gripes were that the cheese sauce for the broccoli/baked potato was dried with a gross film on top, and although I think the steak bar is a good option, the cuts of meat were pretty damned fatty - almost to the point of being inedible. Decent food at a great price. I was able to feed 3 kids and 7 adults for less than $100 (that's not gonna happen in Honolulu). read more

I feel like people rated this place really harshly I think this is easily a 3 star restraunt due to the fact that the service that I got was pretty good and they got me in fast. What brought this down to a 3 star is the fact that your peach cobbler was cold and didn't taste that great. Your cottage cheese tasted sour and it was almost as if it had been left out for a week and then served. Unfortunately that's what brought you down to a 3. Overall it is an ok buffet not the best but it's doable especially if there is nothing else around with that being said I would come here every now and then. But I strongly advise not to come here a ton because it can get get really pricey. read more
