The worst service ever in my life. I've been a waitress and believe me I understand. I usually tip great and am very patient and understanding in 99% of situations when it comes to customer service because I've been there too. We reserved the room after a funeral and our waitress was the rudest woman I have ever met in my life. She started yelling at us the moment we walked in the door about where we were sitting, then our drink order, extending tables and then the pile of plates, because she didn't check on us. Not asking or just letting us know, just flat out ugly and rude about everything. It was bad and she should really find an occupation where she doesn't work with people. They did a shift change and the next waitress was wonderful, polite and a breath of fresh air. Sad that I won't ever go back and neither will the 50 other people from our group. read more

There is definitely a reason why there is a challenge to find parking in this parking lot and people are lining up to get in and it is not because the food is free. It is because it is one of the best values that can be found anywhere on this planet for your dining dollar. The selection of food is great! Starting with a fresh salad bar that has most everything on it, a great taco bar, all of the fixings, then all of your American favorites like pot roast, vegetables, even cajun favorites. Then pizza, pasta, and more! And for dessert there is cake, cookies, pudding, pies, jello, icecream, and of course there's the well known chocolate fountain with marshmallows, strawberries, or pineapple on a stick to dip into it. Then there is the all you can drink beverages, served by their ever attentive service staff. Seriously, think about it, if this place was anything less than perfect, would it really be this popular? read more

I'm a regular customer to this restaurant, last week my family and I went again, I was really hungry and grabbed my salad and steak, second bite to my steak a hair on my steak, I took it off and didn't say anything because I didn't want my family to know, two more bites of my steak a second hair appeared I talked to the waitress, there comes the manager which acted sorry but at the same time saying that wasn't possible he didn't know where that came from and was kind of blaming me for them. Well I got up and grabbed a new plate with salad third bite another hair, talked to the manager by then he was mad I don't know if at me or his employees, I was really hungry and upset because I kept grabbing plates with hair. Finally I went and got my third plate without steak and ate, by then my wife and kids where grossed at the food, I told the manager I didn't want a free meal, but for him to fix the problem, he didn't seem to care what was going on and that was what make me not go back there again read more

Was it ever good? I used to think so. Went here with my son for his 11th birthday, and I remember soft, fluffy rolls; tender bourbon chicken and somewhat flavorful steak; decent pot roast; a clean salad bar; happy servers; and above average fried chicken. Over the years, however, I've come to prefer fresher, more personally prepared food, even if I have to pay a premium, so I know my palate's changed. BUT . . was it ever this bad? The rolls were cold, soggy, overly sugary, and dripping with butter. The bourbon chicken tasted like he had been sitting out from the night before. The pizza was soggy and stale, the fried chicken was sinewy (yeah, it doesn't make sense to me too), the salad bar was dirty, and something died inside of me when I saw what the dessert bar had become--a kid's carnival. Enter at your own risk. I've come to this establishment begrudgingly at the request of various family members these past few years. Last Sunday was my last visit. Food was littered all over the ground, swept under the counters and the floors looked like they hadn't been washed since Reagan was in office. The counters weren't being maintained and food was spilling all over and plates still had some traces of the previous meal that was eaten on it. There was also an unfortunate incident of a person (child?) who got sick inbetween the ice cream area and bathrooms and it was left there for a good solid 5-10 minutes before it got mopped up. I don't get why they haven't been shut down, honestly. If you can get past the grime, then the food is passable in the same manner that Paris Hilton is a songstress...i.e. only barely. I love this place. Every GC I go to when I'm in Utah tastes SO good and our servers are great. Clean, the cashiers were efficient and quick, we didn't wait for a seat even though it was lunch time and it was a bit full. I noticed our server cleaning tables as soon as guests left and clearing her area's tables of dishes often. I LOVE that. Why have a million things on your table when you have 6 people eating at one? Nothing I've had during this visit was dry or cold and my cousins who have never been to GC before now have a new favorite to come to in Utah. read more

It all started with the line to get in. There were two couples in front of us, and yet, it took 10 minutes to pay. Not very fast or efficient to say the least. The layout of the restaurant wasn't the best. The tables were too close together in some parts, and the buffet line didn't accommodate large numbers of people. In terms of the food....it was alright. The salad bar could have used some more dressings, aka poppy seed and or raspberry vinaigrette. I had a plate-full of the bourbon chicken because it was so good (it pretty much saved this review). The stuffing was alright as was the rice. The onion rings were a bit cold, and pork was a little dry. In terms of dessert, the cookies were really good, as were the chocolate covered strawberries, but the cake was crumbly and dry. There is all you can eat ice cream, which certainly helps. Overall it wasn't bad by any means, but I've certainly had better. They do have a breakfast buffet, while I haven't tried it I imagine that it is probably better. read more

On our way back to California we stopped by Golden Corral for dinner. It is a buffett style restaurant. They charged around $11 per person, plus $2.49 per drink per person. They offered steak, which was very dry, ham, chicken, and pork. They had a variety of side dishes, my favorite was the sweet corn nuggets, salad bar, and dessert bar. They dont have a large variety of bread, they just give you a basket of dinner rolls and butter. We didn't get to try any of the desserts and the dessert bar was totally destroyed and the staff never seemed to replace anything. The food was just okay. The host was barely pleasant, however the wait staff was exteremely friendly. The atmosphere was casual and clean. read more

This place was not what I remembered. The food was below average and not very fresh. I tried some of the ribs and they were incredibly tough. The pizza was droopy and soggy, and the salad dressings were awful. I'm not sure how they screw up a salad bar but they did. The only decent things we tried were the pot roast and strawberry pie. Funny enough, unlike the other reviews I read, our sever was very friendly and kept up on the drinks. If you have any taste for decent food you will not enjoy eating here. read more

Went to Golden Corral in Orem Utah today , the server was refusing to give us our refills , she then wouldn't give my baby her drink at all !!! Then a lady came and started yelling at us saying that we made the server cry and she started to yell at my 14 year old daughter !!! She wouldn't listen to the whole situation!!! I have come to Golden Corral for a couple of years now. Mainly because it's far for me, I had a chance to bring my family to go this week and it really amazed me. The new place was bright and open, and he whole environment looks great and with enough privacy and space between each table. The whole restaurant looks clean and great, it provide gloves when you go to the buffet sessions. (Mask required) we went there because we want to participate the military deal for November, and they were out of vouchers, the cashier told us to come back next week but I didn't really want to. Because it was far for me. The manager came and decide to let us in and it was great customer service there. I really appreciated the manager and their service. Food was a lot better than I remembered a few years ago. I think it's worth the drive this time and would definitely come back read more

This place, is what it is. Just like any other buffet. Quality of food is OK, and large selection. So walking in you should already know what to expect. My only "negative" would be that they only seem to have medium rare steak when you ask for it. And also, parents really should try to control their kids, it seems like a Chuck E. Cheese buffet edition. Kids running around everywhere and flinging food. It's very chaotic and there's food all over the floor (due to the unattended kids) other than that, if I ever feel the need to get quantity over quality, then I'll be back! read more

I generally have learned to despise buffets for their stale and low quality food, glutinous mentality, and the sick feeling after eating so much bad food. Golden Corral is definitely a step or two up from say a Chuck a Rama. There is plenty of gluttony to be sure but the steak is generally pretty tender and the fruits pretty good. Having Lunch at the newly built Golden Corral was horrible. The food been sitting out under the heat lamp for awhile and was hard and not only that it was salty. Sirloin steak was salty as ever! The shrimp was good. Our waiter was horrible he didn't come to our table until 10 minutes after we sat down. We waited for our drinks and silver wear. We asked the cashier if we could have a waiter but all in all service was horrible. read more

My wife and I usually take the kids here every few months because the kids like the variety. Tonight was one of those times and it may be a while before we visit again. We really like the fried chicken, but tonight every piece my wife chose was inedible. Dry, chewy, just not what we were expecting. She and I each mentioned that the chicken wasn't very good to two managers, both of whom just shrugged and said I'll look into it. No follow-up or apology or really recognition of the issue. A short time later the remaining pieces of chicken were gone, probably disposed of because they weren't looking good. We were also really disappointed by the lack of service from the server. We had several plates stacked up that I eventually moved to the end of the table, but still sat there for a long time, plus our server didn't really keep up on the refills very well. When clearing plates and filling drinks is pretty much the only thing you need to do for your guests it shouldn't be that hard, should it? read more

I went here with my friends and family and my 3 year old daughter and it was a horrible experience. When we sat down it was forever before someone came up to us and gave us plates. We didn't get drinks until we were about to leave and they asked to see our receipts as if we were lying to them about paying for a sprite. Once we finally got our plates the food was old and nasty!!!!! We didn't even get a refill with our drinks. my daughter came up with me to pick somethings she liked and one of the lady's yelled at me and threw her hands in the air because my child was too close to the food and didn't have a mask. Came here on a Wednesday night at 7pm (my first time going to Golden Corral). Plenty of parking and seats available. Downside was that the food probably isn't as fresh as it would be on a Friday or Saturday night. Some items just didn't taste good at all. However, there were plenty of options to choose from. Dinner buffet was $14-ish. Our drinks were constantly refilled and plates cleared off the table. I wouldn't return to Golden Corral in the middle of the week, though. I've ate here twice, first time I ate here I got awful diarrhea. I thought that maybe it was something that I had ate before lunch, because it hit awfully soon after we ate. Now when I went there for a second time, almost identical symptoms. Their selection also sucks. If you want decent food for about the same price go to Chuck-a-Rama's. I am NOT a fan of buffets, but tonight's experience wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. It was cleaner than I've ever experienced before and the food was edible at the very least. The service was really good--probably the highlight of my night here. They were polite and always smiling. This is a family restaurant so be prepared for a bit of chaos, children run a bit wild and it gets NOISY! All that being said, keep in mind this is a buffet so don't have too high of expectations, but it wasn't God-awful. read more

I went to Golden Corral on Sunday March 18, 2012. Crowded. Very crowded. I was happy that I spoke Spanish because there were a lot of Latinos there. The food, for what it was, was good. I was able to ask for a piece of meat that was medium and got it. It was tasty. You can now ask for shrimp (50-60 count) That translates into 5 or 6 shrimp.. less if the cook drops some like he did mine. My one big wish is that people would NOT let their children play on the line, or if they are young, to go with a parent. I must also say that the service is usually minimal, but tonight it was very good. read more

This Golden Corral was a lot nicer on my first visit a couple years ago. Now it's borderline tolerable. The grilled steaks can be really fatty, though I've had some excellent juicy and tender pieces as well. Bourbon chicken are consistently dry and salty these days. Some salad items are not properly thawed and still somewhat frozen. Even the soft-serve ice cream flavors have gone downhill majorly. I still enjoy the breaded shrimps and popcorn shrimps and the soup selections though. I guess the place is slowly going downhill. read more

Very clean and disinfected along with good food, including great steak and shrimp, which are my favorites. My wife and I are regular patrons of Golden Corral. Last night (2020-03-15) we went to Golden Corral, but the people in the restaurant were sparse. Over the last week the government declared a state of emergency due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), so naturally many people and families try to keep their social distance, which means not going to eating establishments. As usual, the food was good and flavorful, especially the steak and butterfly shrimp, and the service and attention to customers was great amid this difficulty with many employees who will make less in tips due to circumstances beyond their control. But what impressed me was their attention to cleanliness and the well being of their customers. Every table along with the chairs was thoroughly disinfected with cleaners sitting on the table for minutes. They continually wiped down the food areas. They had hand sanitizer prominently available for their customers to use. They seem to take every precaution to keep their restaurant clean and germ-free and safe for their customers. Way to go Golden Corral! We decided to double our usual tip. I hope we get through this soon, so everything can go back to normal and your employees can get the income they deserve and the restaurant can return to normal profitability. I ordered my dinner tonight through golden corral.com and picked it up. I ordered 8 pieces of chicken and two sides of mashed potatoes and gravy. The cost was about $30 including a tip of $3. The chicken and mashed potatoes came in plastic containers. The lid for the chicken was vented which kept the chicken very crispy. The chicken was delicious as it has been every time I have eaten there. To me their fried chicken is better than anywhere else I have had fried chicken in Utah County. The mashed potatoes are supposed to be home made real potatoes rather than instant like KFC. My homemade mashed potatoes are better. I use red potatoes with butter and milk. But these were pretty good. The brown gravy wasn't bad--again much better than KFC but it didn't really have a beef taste so not sure what it is made from. My grandson and his friend had their food weighed which they picked themselves from the buffet. The mashed potatoes and gravy were in separate containers. They were really big--i think 24 ounces each for the potatoes and gravy was about a cup each. Altogether it was an enjoyable meal and I was happy with it. read more

We visit Chuck-A-Rama often and decided to try Golden Corral to see how it compares. There is no comparison. Golden Corral does have a lot more food choices and variety than Chuck does, but it's not worth it. We went on the weekend which is "premium" and costs more - but offers "premium" food choices. There are no premium food choices. The food that was only included during the weekend was not hot, and very fatty meat. The entire restaurant was extremely dirty. Carpets covered with food. The entire food/salad bar area was very dirty. Several food selections were not available during the entire visit (butter, mashed potatoes, meatloaf). The sign was there, but no food. Silverware was constantly out - in the three different silverware locations. People had to wait for forks/knives to be brought out and when they were brought out, they were gone from everyone waiting. Servers were busy, but there were not enough of them to service all the tables. Drink refills were non-existent. The entire place was filthy and not at all appetizing. I too, like someone else who commented, filled out the online survey and requested to be contacted - never happened. I asked to speak to to a manger at the store - they never appeared. We will not be going to back to Golden Corral. We'll stick with Chuck-A-Rama....less food choices, but it is extremely clean, able to keep things stocked, and employees are friendly and plentiful. read more

Ok the 5 stars here is comparing apples to apples and as far as Ryans/Golden Corral type restaurants go this is the best I have ever been to. The wait staff was excellent. The food was very good (and we were there just before closing). The place was clean and the servers were busy cleaning up when others were leaving. Very pleasant experience! read more
