New banners over the buffet lines, informing us of Carving Block and the Fresh Salad area and more... We join the other 5 patrons in the establishment. Plenty of selection, from Salisbury Steak, Fried Chicken, Taco meat and Queso (I think my favorite part of this adventure), bourbon chicken, a myriad of potato dishes, sautéed mushrooms, onions and smoked sausage (not bad, by the way), Spinach two-ways, creamed and steamed (both not bad either). An extensive salad bar. They really don't have it wrong, its just... sad. I hope you like Adele, we listen to her for an hour and a half. And I like Adele, but really...? Soft serve ice cream...I hope you want chocolate, because the vanilla side is broken, with a sign saying so. Now, to be fair, I imagine, as from my past, this place is jumping on Sunday after Church lets out. But, definitely not Wednesday night. The staff that doesn't seem to understand the context of the questions we ask, either literally or linguistically, but... Andy is a nice ray of sunshine, in this eerie post-apocalypse buffet experience. He is not only helpful but smiling and attentive. Kudos Andy! I want to say the abundant selection makes the $20 per head admission charge before beverage, worth while! But it is, sadly, not. I go crazy and try, like 5 of the desserts, trying to get my money's worth. I end up in an almost comatose state, regretting all of it. None of them are any better than your neighborhood potluck, where everybody went to Kroger to buy a pie or made the recipe off of the Kool Whip box. Sad. The Loo Review...you are guided with no signage, only by guessing correctly to head to the darkest corner of the back of the building, or by asking an attendant to vaguely point you toward that depressing wing of the dining room floor (this place is pretty expansive). The line of inactive chairs, like a yellow Caution-tape of police at a barricade, and tables with turned up chairs force you to the right corridor for the restroom. They did splurge for 12" terra cotta tiles for the walls, both room and stalls. They look like the mason didn't bother to ask for light or dark tiles in any discernible order. Patches of light tiles grouped together, patches of reddish tiles kinda grouped for most of the walls and floor. I can't put my finger on why, but, it feels...rushed and cheap. Again, lighting; sad, and it looks like floors were put on walls and stall dividers. Not a bad restroom, but, it does not help lift the experience. Sorry, I am just not this place's customer. Please, take that into consideration. My daughter loved the three refilled ice cream cones of only chocolate, and seemed pleased with the encounter. So, there's that. ****MINUS 5 STARS**** The cashier at the front, Dominik was in slow motion, he left the register for several minutes, he hid behind the soda machine to send text messages and came back around holing a tray for the woman in front of us, then he didn't charge her for her food. He saw I was watching him, so he checked us out in slow motion. He acted like he couldn't count change back to us, taking money out and putting it back in, counting it to himself over and over before slowly handing us the change. All the while he was looking at his phone that was sitting at the counter below the register. As soon as he handed us the change, he picked up his phone and said BEY DUDE, WHATS UP? WHATS GOIN ON? And then proceeded to carry on his conversation. What the heck Holden Corral? The craziness and lack of professionalism at that front register is terrible and every time we come there, we swear it will be the last time...but we end up coming back. Not very often anymore. Disappointing Quality & Poor Management Response (20170 N. Freeway, Spring, TX)I arrived at the Golden Corral located at 20170 N. Freeway in Spring, TX on May 31, 2026, around 8:20 p.m. Upon entry, the cashier informed me that they begin pulling food at 8:40 p.m. I completely understood that timeline. However, I did not expect to be served lukewarm and cold food while still being charged full price.The fried catfish was not hot, several buffet items were barely warm, and food was not being replenished. On top of that, I was told no fresh rolls would be made, despite the restaurant remaining open and accepting paying customers until 9:00 p.m.When I raised these concerns, both the floor manager and the general manager repeatedly explained that they start shutting down at 8:40 p.m. They completely missed the point. My issue was never about their closing procedures; it was about the fact that customers were still being admitted and charged full price for food that was not maintained at proper temperatures or quality.If a restaurant allows customers to enter at 8:20 p.m., those guests should receive the same quality food as someone who arrived earlier. If that is not possible, management should stop seating people earlier rather than serving cold food and limited selections. Came to this spring Golden Corral location during Thanksgiving. The line was really long and it seemed like the whole town didn't feel like cooking this year. In spite of that, it didn't take too long for us to be seated. Current dinner price is usually around $17.99, but since it was a special day, prices went up to $19.99 ( I didn't mind since it's an all you can eat buffet). It was a cold day but inside was nice and warm and so was the service. The interior wasn't flashy but everything looked clean. There was a great variety of food including: turkey, ham, steak, Hispanic, pizza, chicken, pies, cakes, etc. (it would take too long to list all the foods). Some of the foods you could tell were frozen (ex. some of the pies had a harder icy texture), but you have to remember it's a casual dining trying to serve hundreds of people per day at a fast pace. This isn't Fogo de Chão or anything fancy like that. Even though it was busier than usual, the staff did a great job overall keeping things moving and under control. All the dinner food we ate was hot, fresh, and tasty and we had no issues with any of the dishes that were served. It's nice to know that places like this are open during Thanksgiving, and it's even nicer when you can eat a whole week's worth of food in one sitting for only $20. My family decided to try Thanksgiving at Golden Coral for the first time. We had checked the website, and called the day of to double check the hours for the day which was 7pm, which my family then decided to be there at 5:30pm. My family got there at 5:30pm and I was 10 minutes behind, they had texted me saying they were told they were closing at 6pm. When I showed up I saw this sign on the door, and the entrance had a yellow cone, but no sign saying what time they were closing. We walked in through the To Go entrance and we're immediately told (in a exacerbated tone) "We're closing in 20 minutes, are you To Go?" I mentioned we had family that was already there, and got in line behind two people in line. Not even one minute passed and the young lady talked over the people she was checking out at the counter "Are you sure you want to stay? We're closing in 20 minutes". At that point my husband and I decided to not even eat, as my brother who was already there eating was told they would not take the food away until it was gone. So I told the young lady we weren't eating and were just going to sit down with our family. We did not eat or drink, and my family was told after only being there 20 minutes that they were going to take the food off the buffet at 6:15pm. The waiter in the section came by not even 10 minutes later and asked if we could let him know when we'd be leaving. We were practically being rushed out, when they had changed the hours at some point in the day AFTER my brother had called to confirm they were closing at 7pm. My husband went to use the restroom and said someone had defecated on top of the toilet seat and had spread it around in the men's stall. It was sad how every employee running around were looking at us like we needed to get out ASAP. I would've asked to speak to a manager, but it seemed like nobody wanted to talk to anyone unless it was to say we should hurry it up and leave. When we got outside we stood around saying our goodbyes and we told 5 different families who were getting out of their cars that they had closed early. More than one of the families got upset and said they also thought they were not closing until 7pm. There was a sign at every table saying there was a time limit of sitting at the table. If the company wants to stay open and advertise a Thanksgiving meal, they should update the closing hours online and on the signage outside, and not give the incorrect time to people over the phone as well. I understand wanting to make sure every customer has a table to eat at by having an eating limit, but that should also be advertised on each individuals Facebook pages and when people call as well. Overall this was a horrible experience for me and my husband, who were there to eat a Thanksgiving meal with our family, but we're rudely unwelcomed and treated from beginning to end. It would've been nice to actually eat, but it might've been an even worse experience given a small window of time to eat and told the food, that was still plenty full was going to be taken away in just a few minutes. If I could give this place a negative star I would so I'll give it a one star and stating the negative! Very rude first of all. My wife and I loved coming here for dinner and sometimes I work out of town so we don't have time to make dinner. So late Friday night at 7:45 my wife and I met up at our local golden coral as soon as we walked in the greeter demanded that they were about to close that to keep that in mind: um excuse me you have and hour and fifteen minutes before you close so we have plenty of time. I did not like the time nor the demand that he said even if it didn't apply I didn't want to feel rushed to eat even though we had plenty of time. I will not consider coming here because of the rudeness I'll take my business elsewhere. Sad that I had to turn down golden coral but I value my business, please do better and tell your staff not to be so demanding and greedy, that's why they have schedules. I have never been to a Golden Corral before. As a Las Vegas local, my standards for buffets are pretty high. The food was alright. Compared to what I've been eating on company dime it was decent at best. I feel like I haven't had vegetables in a month so I liked the selection. Having to pay for a room temperature bottled water and no other drink option was strange. The soda fountain was OOO, but there was no option other than the warm water. Not a purified water fan, so it was a bummer. There really was no service aspect. Our plates would stack up and no one came around to clear them, that was also disappointing. For the price I would never go again. I think it was around $25/pp including a $2 bottle of water. It felt kind of dingy and grimey. Not a fan. :( read more

Because of the high turnover rate at these establishments, review is only good for approximately two or three months. I tried to set my standard very very low for places like Golden Corral, Luby's another chains but this one kind of broke the bank. The buffet is a decent price at $9 a person but that's about it besides a little better selection than movies. Start from the cashier that had no motivation at all but I can understand when you're getting paid minimum or whatever all the way to the food line where it looks like either of the workers were hungover, would rather be in a hundred different places. ( I get that, it's a Sunday morning who wants to be at work anyways right?.) Or just playing hates their job no matter what they have to do. Kind of funny that things perked up a little bit and it was all hands on deck when apparently somebody that kind of looked like a manager appeared from the back and then it was a different move swing. I've been to this place many times for breakfast buffet and it has been either moderate to kind of alright they can do better but this has to have been the lowest of times on this 26th day of January 2019. I ate lunch at the restaurant located in Spring, TX near Louetta and Cypresswood roads. I visited during lunch on Friday, 11/6/20. Let's get the covid safety measures out of the way first. Masks are required. One way traffic through buffet line. Customer must wear a GLOVE provided by the restaurant before you can touch any serving handle. SEE PHOTO Plenty of workers stationed along the serving line to make sure that people are using the utensils with their gloved hand. Hand sanitizer stations located at various areas around the dining room and buffet line. Best items for me for this trip were the meatloaf, fried ravioli and the chicken and dumplings. They were awesome. The fried chicken and fried fish both lacked enough seasonings for me. Mac and cheese was okay. Medium busy crowd. Waitress was very attentive and kept my water glass full. Things like the chocolate fountain are gone. You must ask someone for help at the dessert counter if you want one of the marshmallow/strawberry skewers dipped in chocolate. Same thing for scoops of ice cream. All employees were wearing masks. All patrons were wearing masks to enter the store. Now I'm not trying to discourage anybody from coming here but the fact of the matter is that it is a bit messy or dirty if I must say. We arrived here right around the time of the breakfast buffet on a Saturday, there wasn't to many people but it seemed as if they had been hit hard as there was tables that weren't cleaned up yet. The food part was not to bad as I did have a homemade omelet made to my specifications and I must admit that it was one of the best I've eaten in a while. The waitress was not to bad but was not great either. They were getting ready for the lunch menu so a lot of the food items coming out were fresh and hot so that was a plus. If I'm ever in the area I will stop at about the same time I did (10:00 am) for that first round of the lunch menu and that wonderful omelet. read more

I come here for the steak, shrimp , Mac'n'cheese and awesome pot roast. There's a picture on the wall that advertises awesome pot roast. Today the pot roast was not awesome, as a matter of fact none of the food was awesome. My fiancé was not pleased with her food either. I went to this Golden Corral yesterday for lunch by accident after my S.O. brought me here and I thought it was another location I was previously satisfied with. Once we paid and got our plates, I remembered it from my last visit 5 years before. Ah well, too late now. Maybe it had improved! And it had, but just a tiny bit. The service was better. Our waiter consistently cleared our plates and brought us coffee, which was nice. But that was the only improvement. This GC still sucks overall. All of the trays were still incorrectly marked as the now removed breakfast items. We came right at noon and the chefs did not replace food in empty trays the entire time we were there. At least 1/3 of the trays were empty and others were nearly empty. I considered telling someone up front about it but decided against it. It was obvious the food selections were minimal; the staff just didn't care. I'm not sure why this Golden Corral is so horrible compared to the other location. This location is very good! The food is fresh and delicious evrytime I come in. The restaurant is huge! But everyone seems to handle the people very well! Employees are always smiling and doing everything they can to make sure my visit is a good one! Never will eat at this place again! Was extremely hot. Either their A/C wasn't working or they turned it off just to make everybody eat fast and get out. Music was also way too loud and too ear-splitting. No way you could have a conversation at your table.
