My husband and I had dinner there tonight! Our first time there and we were not disappointed! Nice clean, bright environment and the waitress was very accommodating and friendly. VERY DISRESPECTFUL! My son went in for an anniversary dinner. After he ate he payed for his meal but was not able to leave a tip due to him being in a hard spot financially. As he was walking out to his car the server came to the parking lot to hand him a sauce he forgot. Note through out the interaction my son was 100% RESPECTFUL! the server asked if there was something wrong with her service due to him not being able to tip today and the last time he was in. (he has gone to this restaurant several times and left a tip almost every time) he tried to explain his financial situation at the moment when this woman interrupted him and raised her voice talking about how she gets payed 3-4 dollars an hour. When my son tried to tell her that he understood and once again tried to explain his situation the server once again INTERRUPTED and yelled "CAN'T TIP, GO TO MCDONALD'S; DON'T COME HERE!" When he got home he told me what she said. I called the rest. And actually spoke to her. After explaining who I was, I let her know that I did not appreciate the way she spoke to my son because he did not tip her this time and the last time he was in. I told her that my family would no longer frequent their restaurant and she lost all of our tips. She said good and hung up on me! I then called back and the young Asian man at the counter answered, I asked for the manager, he declared he was the manager. I laughed and said that I would be in the next morning to speak to the manager in person, say goodbye then hung up. Within a minute my phone rang and it was Golden dragon. The young Asian man called me back, I spoke my mind to him very calmly and within a couple minutes he was literally yelling at me telling me he was disappointed in me! I wished him a good night and told him he lacks professional skills. I would also like to bring up the last time I ordered carryout and sent my son up there to pick it up he gave him the wrong food and when I called up there he said to me my son gave him the wrong name. I am not sure if he remembers this as it happened about 6 months ago. But I sure do. I honestly don't care if that waitress has worked there for 40 years she has no professional skills as a server and makes the good servers in the world look bad. Maybe it's time to retire. Ordered at 6pm on a Monday. Take out was ready fast- less than 20m, and still hot when I picked it up. The staff was friendly when they took my order and when I arrived. Portion was appropriate for the price I paid. My one and only negative comment was that the building itself smelled like mold/mildew/rotten something and that was a little off-putting... We have not dined here in a couple of years. The food had declined quite a bit as we had been eating there for the last 20ish years. We decided to give it another try and we were really glad we did! The food was hot and tasted fresh and yummy. Our server was awesome. I had Chow Mein and my husband had the Korean Beef. We had crab rangoon as an appetizer and of course the egg rolls. Used to be a amazing place to eat. I would always get one of their combination platters, but since the new owners took over it has gone down fast. The food isn't consistent. I'll order food and it either won't be the correct item or they'll forget it completely. Time and time again they close early. We called this morning to confirm hours and we called 2 HOURS before they said they would be closing. They were rude and hung up the phone on multiple callbacks. My sister lives in the area, and her family loves the Golden Dragon buffet. I did not have the buffet, but rather carry-out with the family. The positives are nice portion sizes, and hot food, packed nicely, including all the accoutrements. The sesame chicken wasn't very good, in my opinion. It was really, really sweet, and comprised of mostly dark meat. There were almost no vegetables included in the order. My egg roll was hot, and fairly full of cabbage, yet very oily. It was so oily that I blotted it well with paper towel, and it still literally oozed grease all over my plate. Because I'm not from the BC area, I can't really compare this place to any other choices around. We've used these folks as our go-to place for a long time, but lately they were slipping. Then tonight, went for a quick buffet and the food was awful. Cold chicken, rubber crab rangoon and mush for sesame chicken. The only OK thing was the chicken fried rice. When the lady asked if everything was OK, I said no, and stated that I didn't eat, she just nodded and rang up the meals. Essentially, I paid to never have to go back. Was very unhappy to drive clear across town knowing that they close at 10:30 at night on Saturdays to pick up some fried rice only to see them turn their lights off as I was getting out of my car. The husband and myself stopped in on a Saturday night for a quick bite and never again will we stop here. There were around 7 cars outside so we thought it would be fine but when we walked in there was one other couple and a woman alone there so the food was definitely lacking in freshness and had been sitting for a bit. The fried rice was terribly dry. They brought out fresh beef noodles which were pretty good and the bourbon chicken was alright but everything else was seriously lacking. Then we get to the register to pay our bill and we're quite surprised. For two drinks and two buffets it was $28! That is crazy to me! That is not including a tip. Our favorite dishes are the Bourbon Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, and Beef and Noodles. You have to try the Shrimp Toast! It's the best I've ever had! Crab Rangoon is yummy too! The food is always hot, rich, and delicious. The owners are very friendly and personable. My order has always been correct, and I don't think I have ever waited longer than 15 minutes to pick up my large order. Horrible service and food, will never go back. We were there last night (Saturday) at 5:30, prime time for dinner right? The buffet was awful, the rice was hard and cold, the lo mein noodles looked like they had been sitting there for hours, didn't try them. The spring rolls were cold. The only thing I lilked was the pepper steak and there was not much steak in it. Many things were not labeled and since I do not eat sea food I didn't eat anything if it wasn't labeled. The waitress asked how everything was after I was done eating and I told her it was terrible. She said she would tell her manager and never came back to the table. When we went to pay the hostess said the manager didn't feel she needed to address the problem and that I should have ordered off the menu. Wow, I have never been treated so badly at a restaurant in my life so needless to say, I will never go back. Hadn't been there in probably 15 years and now I know why.
