It's sad because I use to go to them at least monthly to bi weekly but I left my card at home so I did a pick up DoorDash. If not, let me help. It's poor. I mean just really not good. POOR! New China Moon holds up the standard of lousy Chinese food here in BC. We ordered on Christmas Day as typically the only restaurants open on the holiday. The order was not very big. Just a small Bourbon chicken, a small pork chop suey and a small shrimp fried rice. I should have known ahead of time that this was going to be a HUGE disappointment when walking in and not seeing any Asian people working the counter or back. The pork chop suey was a complete disappointment and frankly awful. Now, I am a HUGE fan of pork chop suey. Ive been eating it for years and let me tell you.....this wasn't even close. Large chunks of red tinged roasted pork in a brown sauce (wait, did you just say "brown" sauce? Yes!! Ikr? Brown sauce!?!?) with carrots, pea pods, onions and celery. This should be called roasted pork with mixed vegetables. The listing stated "pork chop suey" mind you (not ROAST pork chop suey). First, let's go over exactly what pork chop suey is: thin sliced, fine strips of stir-fried pork, bean sprouts, celery, onion and plus/minus water chestnuts in a white sauce. (WHITE!! NEVER BROWN!) That's it folks. It's not difficult. If you're going to use roast pork, you state that in the menu listing. Completely shaking my head here. Check the picture..... The shrimp fried rice had a sparse amount of small shrimp. Unflavorful, yellow colored rice that clearly was not seasoned with any soy sauce (or anything else for that matter). I'm not even sure it was fried!! The cook tossed a few frozen peas and carrots for good measure and served it up plain, tasteless and bland. The bourbon chicken was just chunks of over-cooked chicken thighs in some fairly tasteless brown sauce. That's it! Nothing else. Not a vegetable or even and onion. No breading. Nothing. Now, I'm not a connoisseur of bourbon chicken but that seems lame to me. The taste was absent of anything flavorful. 100% DISAPPOINTING. JUST REALLY BAD FOOD. read more

Good food! It has been quite some time since I had a Walnut Shrimp dish worth a review, they did a great job! The portions are good, Lunch specials are satisfying. I had not been to a sit down, non-buffet Chinese restaurant in quite awhile, but I may be doing it more often after visiting here! The service was very attentive, my drink was never empty and staff stopped by multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. It's nice and quiet, good place for conversation, as most of the other patrons while we were there were just stopping in to pick up take out orders. I had the bourbon chicken, and which on the lunch combo came with an egg roll and fried rice. The portions here for the price are fantastic! I couldn't even finish my whole lunch, and only paid around $7. The dinners were also fairly priced, and there is a good selection on the menu. My wife and I both visited the New China Moon Restaurant last week. We walked in 30 minutes after they opened and the place just seemed dirty. I would have thought that it should be clean after just opening. My wife and I each had Szechuan, and had them substitute the chicken for Tofu. The food was good, but it felt like we were eating at an old truck stop that needs cleaning. I have had take-out food here before, but never paid much attention inside the place. Overall I can't give a very good review if they can't keep the place clean. We only ended up here because the Hong Kong restaurant had no tofu. read more

I have eaten at this restaurant two times. We never had an unpleasant visit. The Fried Dumplings are the shit. Honestly, that is the main reason why we go there. The Curry Chicken(Thai) wasn't very good. I would much rather go to a REAL Thai restaurant. Now moving onto Chinese dishes, the Kung Pao Chicken was good. We ordered 2 different fried rices, 4 Seasons and shrimp with lobster sauce, also a couple egg rolls. My order was done within 20 minutes hot and delicious. The vegetables were hot and crisp, not overcooked. I paid grabbed my order and left. Got a phone call...they gave me the wrong order. No big deal. Went back got the correct order and when I unpacked the bag they gave us an order of sugar coated rolls (I don't know what they are called). I am assuming for giving us the wrong order. Only bad thing to say is the pork in the 4 seasons was a little gristly. read more

The prices and serving sizes were reasonable, but the food was inedible. I ordered the Orange Chicken combination with Pork Fried Rice and Fried Wontons by delivery. These are fairly simple selections that I have had success with for years with delivery in a number of cities. The wontons were not only grease logged, but the filling (supposedly pork) was something I had never tasted before or even seen before. The Orange Chicken had an awful taste as well. We have been ordering our Chinese food from them for over a year now, : ) after much searching for someone who delivered. They are great!!! They even customize my soup the way I like: Half egg drop and half wonton in one large container! Take that and pour it over your fried rice of choice, for a perfect, not on the menu creation of my own. It is the BEST!!!!! Give it a try! All of the appetizers, main dishes and their fried (right on the premises) noodles are a snack all in themselves. My husband even tolerates their beef lo mein, and he doesn't like Chinese! Gotta be good, right?! Delivery staff, phone staff, and the cooks are all the best. We have never eaten inside, but we will try at sometime. He works 2nd shift, so delivery is better.
