Went to Golden Dragon last night and received HORRIBLE service. It's always a hit or miss with service there but last night was the worst. The bartender who helped us was a brown skin kind of chubby woman with a stank attitude. She had two pig tails in her head. The only good thing she did was wipe off the countertop in front of us without having to be asked. Other than that...horrible. I ordered a water and my bf ordered a drink. We then wanted something light to eat. I asked her how the general tso chicken bites were and all she did was nod her head. (Side bar, this woman literally did not say one word out of her mouth to us, not even hello. All she did was shake her head yes or no like she was a mute or something). Anyways, we order the chicken bites and they were disgusting!! First of all they were more like chicken strips rather than bites and the sauce tasted nothing like general tso(it was very garlic forward). So we told the waitress that we didn't like them and she just walks away and heads to the back to get the manager. I'm usually not the type to send back food but it was that bad. The manager comes over and i explain to him that we didn't like them and wanted to send them back and all he does was take the plate and throw it out and walked away. Neither of them asked if there was anything else they could get us or apologized or anything!! What kind of service is that??? Next thing you know, about 5-10 min later, the bartender brings us our bill. Again, she didn't ask if perhaps we wanted another drink or anything. I really thought she was a mute until I saw that she was talking to other guests at the bar. My co-workers and I visit here often for happy hour and some great Chinese food. I am never disappointed with the food but sometimes the customer service is not the best. I would never eat Chinese food from anywhere else in Baltimore after having food from the Golden Dragon. read more

The food. . .EXCELLENT. The atmosphere. . .looks good aesthetically. The staff. . .HORRIBLE. Was there this past Friday and sat at the bar and ordered a couple of drinks and food to go. Kelly took our orders. I order Sesame Chicken (added shrimp for an extra charge). I asked to have the soup substituted or taken off and Kelly tried to sell me on another item that would have cost me extra instead of offering options. I noticed it and let it fly. But in the middle of me giving my order, Kelly turned and had a full conversation with a coworker! She finally came back to me but seemed so disinterested which is absolutely unprofessional. She and a two coworkers then went to the side to take shots. When I get my food, I see that the soup had not been taken out either. Thank goodness for other customers because they are the only reason I had a good time while there. People skills are absolutely vital and necessary when working in customer service, as it is need to keep customers coming back. I know that I won't put up with bad customer service just because the food is outstanding. Keep the cook. Get rid of the barmaids! read more

Ok... Maybe my standards are a bit high, but this place is horrible. Marginal Americanized Chinese food spot has been turned into worse Americanized Chinese food sports bar. Good portions don't make up for the terrible food. Went with a group of friends, so we had a little of everything. First, is it a sports bar that is serving Chinese or a Chinese restaurant with a lively bar? I don't think it's known yet. The bar and restaurant are connected, so the loud and vulgar Rap music that was playing in the bar at 8pm could also be heard in the restaurant where people were dining with kids. Service was good at times, but glasses stayed empty with reminders way too long. The menu was a hodgepodge of stuff ranging from quesadilias to wings to Chinese food. We got bbq wings- way too sweet and drenched in sauce, egg rolls- huge, bland, and tasteless, General Tso's chicken- why is it sweet?, shrimp fried rice- oily but otherwise good. A Chinese food spot that needs security? Time to go and not come back. read more

I'm 55 years old and I have been eating here for almost 56 years! Yes my mother ate there while she was pregnant with me and I loved the food then. Of course that was the First Owners and my cousin used to work there. They have THE BEST FRIGGIN' EGG ROLLS EVER.. I mean EVER! It takes a few days to actually eat them so remember while you are chomping down on their egg rolls that it takes a long time to make them but only takes you a few seconds to gobble them down. I went because someone referred me and told me the food was really good. Well I used to come here before it was changed as a kid so I was interested in seeing the new change, very disappointed they had employees that were of work smoking and hanging around in the parking lot. Then the employees that were at work hair all the way down their backs not in a ponytail not neat and she was serving. And then the food was way over priced for what we got and it was nasty I will never go back and I will advise for any of my friends and family to never go three either. read more

If i could leave 0 stars i would. The carryout is a joke. If Beano doesnt answer the phone dont even bother. The ladies are standing around with attitudes as if you arent a paying customer. I called to order orange shrimp and fried rice. Keep in mind i am very articulate so im certain she heard orange shrimp. Especially since she repeated it back to me. 45 mins later i go to pick up my food. And The lady says oh u got general tso shrimp. No thats not what i ordered. So she says thats what it says on here. Like im sure i didnt order that i dont even eat that. Well do u want it. No i want what i ordered. She tells me it will be an entire hour wait to correct my order. This is unacceptable! There is no way she heard general tso shrimp. Orange shrimp doesnt even sound similar. But the fact that there was so much attitude and the nonchalantness like i did something to them. I am beyond pissed. I came in carrying my two year old. Any parent does not want to wait an entire hour when they have already waited 45 mins with a toddler for dinner. Lets be serious. The Golden Dragon Inn is now the Golden Dragon Bar & Grill. They have happy hour from 11am-7pm DAILY, yes daily! The food is just as awesome as it was before, and the drinks are great! This place is RACHET. I walked in to order a large orange chicken and the cashier immediately expressed she had an attitude because of other customers harassing her. Apparently grabbing at women and telling "hey baby" is accepted behavior according to the bouncer that was only 3 feet away. I asked her if they served orange chicken and she told me "pick up a menu and look." As a professional stylist there is no way she confused me with the normal patrons and I don't feel I deserved to be the backlash of her bipolar emotions. This place was home of great Chinese food but since new ownership it's a miracle anyone remembers they serve it. This is almost certainly the best Chinese food I've ever had, and with a price this low, they were pretty much giving it away. I was told to check the place out by a friend who drives all the way up from College Park to get take out from this place. I had to walk around the building once to figure out which door I was supposed to walk in, so I wasn't really expecting much. I got inside and asked if the seating area was open. The lady at the counter said yes, and turned on the lights in the dining room so I could sit and eat. Throughout the meal, I heard people come in, order food up front, and chat with the three people behind the counter while they waited for their food. The staff seemed to know everyone who came in by name. The place has been open for 42 years and is clearly a staple in the community, even if it's not as busy as it once was. I should note that they insist on 18% gratuity to dine in, which I can understand since they had to open the dining room for me (and I always tip 20% anyway). For dinner, I ordered a combination platter. Among options, I chose spareribs, soup, pork fried rice, and sweet and sour chicken for $13.95. I decided to add an egg roll, just to try their egg rolls. The wonton soup was some of the best I've ever had. The egg roll was like 1/2 a pound and again, best I've ever had. I brought an extra eggroll home to my roommate who said the same thing. The ribs, which I assumed would be 1 sparerib with a platter, were in fact 3, but each had 2 ribs, so it was essentially 6 ribs. The were too fatty, and I had to sort of pull them apart to get to the meat and eat them, but they tasted great. The sweet and sour chicken, which I don't normally order, was a little heavy as is to be expected, but was really pretty, covered in pineapple and cherries. And the pork fried rice was also great. I went to the back to wash my hands after the ribs, and sort of stopped myself before walking into the bathroom. This is a huge old restaurant where no one really ever eats, there have to be roaches in the bathroom right? I sort of held my breath before I turned the light on to brace for the scuttle, but nothing. It was an old bathroom, no question, but totally clean. Please please please go check this place out. I'd hate to see somewhere like this close due to lack of business, and I think if you try it, you'll start making the pilgrimage. read more

Probably one of the best, if not the best, Chinese food establishment in this immediate area; it's been around for quite sometime. Something about their fried rice is different from other places. And I am also a big fan of the Egg Foo Young. Their food is more restaurant quality than take-out. There is a dine-in option although I haven't done it, I heard from others that the owner and the staff are pretty accomodating. Did take off one star though because I got some shrimp that weren't deveined and that wasn't cool but apparently this was an isolated incident because it hasn't happened since. It will be a bit pricier that the other regular establishments, but if you're in the mood for good Chinese food, then it's worth it. read more

I frequent this restaurant because I enjoy the shrimp egg rolls. I go often after work pm. On 1-3-19 I ordered one egg roll in the waiting area and sat in the waiting area. After 10 minutes I large crowd of men came towards me pushing and screaming with security behind them. The guys almost fell on top of me but the managed to make it to the door but at the same time security had to MACE/PEPPER SPRAY them. At the location I was sitting I was unable to get out of the way so I was totally affected with the spray. I had to sit there for about 15 minutes to get myself together in order to drive home. I have been through this before in the army but I was prepared then. Unfortunately, I could not sleep due to effects of the spray and woke up this morning still coughing, running nose, and puffy eyes. read more

I've been here a couple of times and I haven't had a bad experience. The egg rolls are ginormous! I am a huge fan of the buffalo wings here too. I came out saturday night for girls night and was so humilated with the bouncers. I was denied entry due to not being "frisked" so they say. Mind u I had on skin tight tights and a belly shirt...but ok. After being denied entry I ask why because I was confused so I asked him why I was being denied because I felt singled out as im asking why he starts pushing me out the door calls other security to the door. The owner of the security company threatens to mace me and his employee yells "yeah bring the roach spray out for the roaches" and calls me other names outside of my name. I have never been talked to like this as a woman I was so humilated! Sad to say this is why I rarely visit places with this kind of crowd. I will be taking further action and they will NEVER GET ME NOR MY FAMILIES BUSINESS. I dont kno what to say about golden dragon but that experience alone is enough to make me never return. The Golden Dragon has some of the best Chinese food in Baltimore. I especially love the combination fried rice... Simply YUMMY. The customer service sometimes has a lot to be desired. Lets see. Ample parking front and back on a main road off the interstate. Ample seating, appears to seat close to 200. Several ( like 22) televisions. Music is of the ratchet genre. This is Chinese take-out that I will order out of my comfort zone. The first time I went to the Golden Dragon Inn, I ordered the Sesame Chicken. Since then, I have stuck with it. It is verrry good! The chicken is not small chunks but bigger pieces (or tenders?). It is lightly breaded or battered. The sauce coating the chicken is very flavorful. Yum! Every time I go in to order, I always look at the menu but end up ordering the Sesame Chicken (old reliable). I notice when I am sitting there waiting for my order, quite a few people come in and pick up their telephone orders. They certainly have a brisk take-out service. Generous portions. Food was okay. The bar area seemed to be running smoothly but the dinning area left much to be desired. The dinning area was cold. Everyone kept their coats on. The lighting was way too bright and should have been dimmed for a more intimate feel. The little paper place-mats and napkins were not fresh and clearly tampered with by previous guests due to the stains and rips. My biggest turn off were the waitresses appearance.The attire was not tasteful or appropriate. A waitress is the face/representative of the business. I wasn't comfortable with what I saw. I actually thought about getting up and running out before my food came because I said to myself "If they don't care about how they look, they must not really care about my food safety either". My hubby & I will not leave our hometown until we make a trip to the Golden Dragon. Take out or dine in this is great Chinese food. He gets the Shrimp Yak a mi (sp?) (thick noodles, gravy, boiled eggs), I love their shrimp toast, asian fried wings, curry chicken or schezuan chicken. My best story ever...at about 3am following Hurricane Isabel I ventured out (in complete darkness since most of my neighborhoods power was out) to not only find Golden Dragon well lit but still open! The Chinese food is still top notch, portions are huge, and plenty of other food items to order if Chinese is not your thing. I have a history with Golden Dragon. I have been going there for over 30 years. Management changed a couple of years ago and the food has progressively gotten worse. Today, 3/20, I spent almost $50 for carryout eggfoo young and an order of shrimp fried rice. The gravey was literally white in some places, and light brown in others. The shrimp were not cooked and slimmy. I also ordered old bay chicken wings that were overcooked and if they had old bay on them - I could not tell. Given the quality of food that USE to be there the management ought to be ashamed of itself. They never have to worry about me or anyone else that I know. What a disgrace compared to what use to be there! Management was not due in until after 5 - go figure no one to complain to except the public. read more

Pretty cool spot to be in. I was under the influence once I arrived and didn't have a craving for food until I saw the pretzels They were so soft and hot and good! The service was really good. Very friendly waitresses and bartenders. The drinks are really good and the price point is reasonable. Good music and enough space to dance. Just had the crab pretzel and it was amazing! It took a few to eat it Bc I really wanted to savor the taste. But it was soooo yummy.
