This is my first Yelp review, but I feel so strongly about their lack of customer service I could not NOT write a review. The bartenders and servers are very rude, they completely ignored myself and my group of 4 friends. Getting their attention was like hailing a New York City cab. Their attitudes are completely DEPLORABLE. I literally had a woman server tell my cousin (who is a man) that we should sit somewhere else because she didn't feel like "we" being my sister and I "didn't like her". False. We couldn't even get her attention she was so focused on my cousin. She proceeded to give him a drink on the house. Lucky him. The portions are large so that'a a pro. But the food is mediocre and the vibe is very cliquey. I'm a New Yorker who visits family in the County quite often. Every time I've gone there (weekend nights) the patrons aren't very social at all. This place is total trash. I came in tonight with a friend and when I went to the bathroom and came out an different security guard than the one that check me when I came in asked me for my ID. I told this clown ass that I've already been in there and I just came out the bathroom. This idiot says "I didn't see you I need your ID." I gave his bitch ass my ID and told him again I already been in there and to ask the the guard behind him who checked me earlier. So we did just that and that guard agreed with me and his dumbass says "Yea he was in here but I can't have you disrespecting my other guard you have to go." They were extremely rude and wrong. This used to be the go to spot for Chinese food. Ever since the restaurant owner sold the spot and they tried to make it more hood and urban with a sports bar the quality of food and customer service has gone down. So I recently saw a thread wondering if the "good" dragon was still around. Listen this place "ain't goin NOWHERE" I have been coming here since I was small child, and now I bring my children. The folks who come here to dine in or carryout are like an extended family. The little lady and the front taking orders knows everyone and she always has her favorite TV. show (wheel of fortune) playing on her "1913" colored TV. The decor here is dated but that adds to the charm, now the big dragon statue that scrolls around a pillar that separates the dinning room from the waiting area can scare the crap out of my six year old like it use to do me, (Ah great memories!) The food is still awesome, why change a formula that works and everyone that matter (loyal customer) always come back. I always order the same thing. House fried rice and Lo Mein (basically hearty pieces of pork,chicken and shrimp mixed in with the fried rice and the same with the Lo Mein) and two egg rolls. That's enough to feed my family and save some for tomorrow, (you know leftover Chinese food is always good). They make a homemade duck sauce that is divine and the wonton soup as well as the orange chicken are very delicious. So there you have it Golden Dragon is still a top notch restaurant in my book. read more

I first visited this place when a friend was looking for something different for dinner and drinks with the girls... When I arrived I was shocked to see how packed the parking lot was. It would have been nice if they had better lighting because parking in the back of the lot was a little creepy. Once inside it was nice to see that the restaurant area was separate from the bar area.. that way we could eat and chat. The food was OK.. nothing special when it comes to Chinese.. but the drinks were GREAT they had some specialty drinks that were fun but a little on the pricey side in my opinion. The crowd was younger than i expected it to be and the waitress mentioned something about an age limit after a certain time (we went on a Friday) which seemed weird since the restaurant part was sooo large. The food was ok not good or great just ok. I probably won't return. Eggdrop soup was super thick. Orange chicken had a barbecue taste. My friend liked his fried rice but I was not a fan. They are now under new management along with a complete remodel. I suggest they work on thier food quality but I think thier main focus is the bar which is unfortunate. read more

I've been going to the Golden Dragon for over 15 years and I have to say that the service has gone down drastically. I visited the restaurant today, hoping that the service would be better; however I was sadly mistaken. The carry out waitress was eating at the counter and terribly rude. This bat staff is terrible! She is your waiter , no she is your waiter. Damn can I get a menu and a drink. This is ridiculous and it was not the first time. It was three times. I'll order the nice egg rolls from takeout and keep it moving. They defiantly need a bar manager to tell these servers who has who or teach them math quadrants. Decent food and the lady in the front was nice, I'm glad I tried it. I can add this place to my list for Chinese spots in the Randallstown area. It was like other yelpers say like a blast from the past. Especially when I had to listen to this lady tell her life story about how her and her grandparents have been coming to the Golden Dragon for years and that it is an important eatery in their family. LOL, I was like mmmmmmkkkk but that does go to show you that their food is worth going back for. I ordered the Hunan Chicken just to keep it safe and to be able to compare theirs to other establishments. I felt like I was getting authentic food simply because the place was so old and what I believe to be a long family history running the place with the generations of family photos posted on the wall. I was weary at first because it looked like ghost town when I came in with two patrons waiting for food. The menu isn't really up to date like there are no more fountain drinks like it says and the different sizes of your entrees aren't listed. So, I got a small and it came with white rice for $7.27. Then, as I waited for about 15 minutes for my food to be cooked people were walking in left and right, back to back. Literally, there are two entrances on both sides and the place was consistently busy. People kept arriving, kept calling...it was a surprise and a shame the dining area isn't being utilized! Hmmmm...when I saw the sauce I thouht why the heck is it so light brown? It looked like chicken gravy. At first it almost tasted like some kind of gravy and a flavor from some kind of soup but I guess that's their way of making the dish. Once I mixed everything around it was alllllright, but in my opinion the darker brown sauce is more appealing. The hunan chicken was fresh and did contain the vegetables that I expect like baby corn, sliced carrots, mushrooms, big chunks of green peppers and broccoli. It was a satisfying portion and for some maybe you'll have some leftover, definitely decently priced, fresh cooked, and I recommend it. read more

Had heard some rumors, that even after the changeover, the food was still the same. And after a non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner of Golden Dragon carry out last night, I can confirm, yes, it's still the same AMAZING food. The shrimp & lobster sauce is still unreal, the egg rolls are still GD egg rolls. Which translates to: better than everywhere else. I've been to Beijing, and the food there doesn't compare. Simply the best, and I'm over the moon that the legend carries on. Also, I have to say that the sports bar inside is pretty nice! Granted there were only a few people in there last night (Thanksgiving), it's open, airy, clean, tons of nice tvs and I would go watch football (or any other sport) there anytime. I just went into golden dragon and I sat down at the bar when I saw the first bar tender I said hi can I please have a drink menu, she replied by saying how you doing, I then said how you doing can I please have a drink menu, she continued to say how you doing. I was a little confused and I asked her if she was okay but she persisted to give me attitude. I then asked to speak to the manager and I told the manager what happen but she could care less and I told her I would spend my money somewhere else and she just said okay and I walked out. Was Pleasantly Suprised. Was very apprehensive about going in to join my friend but the atmosphere was very chill and the bartenders and the servers were very attentive. We went in for drinks and decided on Food. I ordered the Crab and Shrimp Fried Rice. Never had that Combo b4 and I sure am Very Glad I went with that. Delish!!!! 3.5 stars. We had not been here in YEARS, long before the new owner. Thought we would give it a try as there are not many sit down Chinese places in this area. What you need to know up front is this has been converted to a sports bar that happens to sell Chinese as half of their menu. The other half is bar food. They have 2 distinct areas to eat. The traditional area and the bar (which is quite big). We went on a Saturday night around 5:30 so when we pulled up and the parking lot was packed we thought we would have to wait. Plenty of open tables in both areas. We sat in the bar- plenty of tv's if you want to watch sports. The music is loud rap music which is un-edited so the language is a concern if you are offended easily. Our waitress came over quickly and was friendly. We wanted Chinese but my husband did order mozzarella sticks not knowing how much food they would give us. It was plenty! We both got combos and I had more than enough to take home for lunch the next day. I would say the food was as good as the take out we get elsewhere and since this place does have carryout we may use them in the future. Hats off as the hot mustard they served was just that- HOT!!! Many places don't make this or serve it (not hot) but we both sweated over this one! Bathroom was fine. Not a lot of people in the traditional side and you may still be able to hear the music there so be aware of you take kids. Finally able to try this establishment, what a disappointment. I honestly didn't know what to expect after reading the reviews for this place. Realistically it deserves 0 stars, but not for the reason most of you might think. Me an my wife actually found the staff pleasant attentive an professional. I forced down one egg roll after applying multiple packs of duck sauce an mustard from my collection on top of the fridge. (No they didn't provide any). But I really appreciated the 16 packs of soy sauce. But not even the seven I used ,could help the tasteless egg foo young. So into the trash it went. The only thing edible was the fried rice after adding ketchup garlic powder an 5 packs of soy sauce. Problem for me though , it was my wife's an she didn't want to share. Over all I would never order the food there again. But the bar area seemed pretty nice. I think this place used to be a restaurant. Now the emphasis seems to be the bar an lounge aspect. I mean shrimp egg foo young an egg rolls are pretty basic. Any hood spot below northern parkway gets that right. I paid $32.76 for my order. What a waste of time an money. Parking is always crazy, and one would think that there's something grand and amazing about this place by the way it gets packed on the weekends. I was going to come for a night celebrating my cousins 24th birthday at midnight , I'm 28 and my cousin in 26. My cousin was denied entry because he was not 25 years old. We drove all the way out here from east baltimore. There were not advertisements anywhere about the age requirement...they lost money. Wow. Where do I start with this review. They ran out of rice, which I'm not sure how that happens. The service was non-existent. We sat down and it took 15+ minutes for our waitress to come. She comes and then it takes another 45 minutes for our drinks and for her to even come back to the area. Good thing there was music because if not we would have left. This is my second bad experience with this place in less than a month. I will not be back. I would advise you all to think about going somewhere else if you would like service. read more

So I was getting my early birthday behavior on and decided happy hour was in order. I was talking with a friend early that day who mention the Golden Dragon was new and improved. She stated the happy hour was a must do. When me and the hubby pulled up the parking lot was FULL. Yes full. This was my first time there the space was open. I can see meeting any size group for any occasion at this location. The walls are covered in cherry blooms and flat screens in dining area and bar. When you walk you to the host you can see an array of desserts display at the counter. A lot of booth seating to be had. The bar area has high bar stool seating. I love love love that happy hour drinks can be served in the dining area also. The price are truly reasonable. The shrimp lo mein was full of big shrimps and the sauce was on point. My order also came with roasted port won-ton soup. You can see all the fresh vegetables used. It smelled good.. It was so much food come hungry. PSA: The drinks are strong. I asked for a fruity drink on the mild side but the Mai Tai I received was the truth. I was not ready. I did see a lot of people enjoying themselves. The serve met my expectations--quick and with ease. I liked the waitress really knew the menu items and was truly helpful with selections. Service with initial server was great but when the shift changed we received a new server that wouldn't even acknowledge us. When we asked for a box she walked pass as if she didn't hear us and then when asked for lids for the dressings she asked who was you server as if she didn't want to serve us. I figured they were super busy so I went into the establishment shortly thereafter and two ladies (I'm using this term very loosely) were behind the the counter lallygagging. You can sit at a table for 30-45 minutes and your waitress will keep walking back and forth without greeting you as if you're the waiter. They add gratuity because they know their service is sh*tty and most people wouldn't leave a tip. The food is good. The need a better dress code because the employees look like cheap hookers that no one wants besides a bunch of drunk drugged up guys. The food and drinks are nice. Cool spot nice atmosphere came here on 6/19 to watch the game...had 3 of the shrimp egg rolls they were good, my sister had the shrimp and crab fried rice they are not stingy with the rice they give u a nice size portion but there was hardly any crab meat. We have been coming to the restaurant for a while and ever since they added the bar it hasn't been the same, I'm currently writing this at the restaurant and when we had first got this they didn't have any menus ready and nobody was there to greet us when we walk though the door, once we had sat down my father had to get out of his chair to walk up to the bar and get some menus after we had got our menus it took another 30 minutes for them to even ask us what we wanted to drink and eat once we had order they took at least 40 minutes to give us the food and once it came out I only got my food mind you there are 3 other people at the table with me and the waitress had the nerve to blame it on them being short staff and then they blame it on the kitchen having "to many orders" 45 minutes later once the two other people get there food,it's still my sister wait for her food even though they told us all the food was done mind you I am writing this review at the restaurant once we had finally got our food we had changed it all for to go because it was to long of a wait. read more

The customer service from the server and management team is preposterous, ignorant, and impertinent. I was dissatisfied with my meal when I explained that to the server she caught an attitude. Which in return had me precede to the manager. She picks my food up with her BARE hands and states to me it's cold so she is not taking it off and I still will need to pay for that. What idiot would do that? Of course the food would be cold if tge server took 46 minutes to arrive back to the table. Once the next manager got there she refused to view the tape, take the food off, take her gratuity off (now I see why it it automatically added), or remake the food; unfortunately a nice time out turned into law enforcement, claims number to file with the court system over something that could have been settled there. This is an example that shows, everyone is not meant to be in management positions nor can run a business. That is why they are workers versus owners. Respect, body language, verbals, and good customer services goes a long way. Sad part so many people continue to support businesses like this that ONLY cares about your money and not you as a customer. read more

My family had dinner there on Friday, October 18. This restaurant is absolutely awful. The only item on the menu that is properly prepared are their egg rolls, which are delicious. The food was greasy and service non-existent. And as bad as the food was the service was worse. We will now begin a hard target search of the Baltimore area to find an acceptable Chinese restaurant built around excellent food and customer service. read more

The happy hour here is decent. I am giving the Golden Dragon 2 stars for the drink prices,music, and the food. The bartenders here are very ratchet, and rude. Awesome food...however at times the service is extremely slow but tonight..... tonight my wait was worth the wait! The bartender was fire! I ordered a sangria and she made them soooooooo right! Her personality was awesome and she personally made the night. This woman was practically running the bar by herself and with a FULL bar of patrons did her thing! She's making drinks, taking orders for food and drinks, and she's waitressing! Ty is freakin AWESOME!!!! This place or at least the lady working the bar was very ghetto and strange.... I was speaking with friends for a bit and then they decided to goto the bar but I was still speaking with someone else. I walk over to the bar and the lady behind it said "what are you n***** about to do? Sit down over here or over there?" I'm not even that dark lol. I was confused and almost got into it with her... Very strange vibes. Leave your guns in the car! Also I'm reading a lot of other reviews about them having to check your ID. We had a 18 year old with us who was drinking at the bar and no one checked our IDs.... This whole place was very confusing.
