This was a great meal for a very reasonable price in downtown Tracy. I have seen the Golden Eagle downtown for as long as I have lived here, but it didn't look very enticing. Recently I had heard good things about it. Turns out new owners took over last summer, we met the wife Sophie, her and her husband are locals and run it hands-on. Her husband hhas a lot of experience in the industry and it shows. The place was very clean, and the food was well prepared. I especially liked the freshness of the veggies in the dishes, the food is all no MSG, and was not greasy. We had tangerine chicken, mixed vegetable fried rice and pot stickers. This little hole in the wall should be a standout in Tracy. I'm very picky about fried rice and it's hard to find good Chinese food in Tracy. I will not mention the others in town that used to be good and things changed. Golden eagle is a small takeout on central like a hidden gem that should be shared with our town. I picked up order tonight and got a good feeling of family run small business exactly what we should support in our town. I did mention to them how hard it is to find a good restaurant. The minute I got home I opened all eight containers and did the taste test. I was really happy with how everything looked and tasted. I called them directly and told them thanks for not disappointing. So far they are nbr 1 on my places to eat for Chinese. I highly recommend. read more

This place is so good. The food is made fresh when you order. Everything taste amazing. Our order was to go and when we got home everything was hot and fresh. They put aluminum foil in the Togo conditioner so the food stays hot and doesn't drip. Amazing! The customer service is great! Went here tonight because our old fav place, Mandarin via, changed owners and thus changed the recipes. Great service. Great atmo 11/10/17 update... so disappointed with service and with dinner tonight. Received soup and entree first then our appetizer, fried prawns. Fried prawns are nothing but batter and full of grease:(. Mushu pork was the very good but pancakes were cold And no one ever even asked us if we wanted water. They were so slow I didn't want to ask! My family and I were there yesterday almost 6 pm. As we'd walked in and noticed we weren't acknowledged or greeted. Tables wasn't clean and two tables was seated and eating their meals. So, we'd left and noticed they're taking phone orders and take out orders. They were short staff. It was disappointing. Worst food and service. We were there almost 10 minutes before I got up and asked for menus. They gave me one and he brushed something off of before handing it to me. The food was at our table for at least 5 minutes before they remembered we needed plates! You guys, they brought me my tap water after I got up and asked for the bill. I ordered it with the food. Food was repulsive and bill was literally $8 a bite. That's all we could stand - 6 bites. The table was so sticky I needed to go wash my hands. The soap dispenser was a cheap (normal) but had not been replaced or cleaned off in years so the watered down soap squirted onto my shirt. Really? It's $2 at Walmart for soap in a dispenser oh my gosh. We love supporting family-owned downtown businesses that quickly become friends. This place is disgusting. It's sad. read more

First visit to Golden Eagle last Sunday for take out. The wonderful smells coming from the bag in my car was making me wish that I could have eaten it inside the restaurant. The sensation continued once I arrived home and presented it for consumption. Braised green beans with chicken and mu shu shrimp were both delicious and I definitely made the right choices. Employees were friendly. I ordered the wonton soup, orange chicken, Mongolian beef, and broccoli beef. I was feeling run down from a long weekend and really looking forward to the soup. The dinners do not come with rice but the meat portions are pretty good. You could feed 3-4 with one dinner if you add a side. Soup broth was pretty clear and fresh tasting, not too salty. The won ton was good albeit the filling was a little tough. It did the trick. The broccoli was slightly over cooked and mushy. The Mongolian beef was flavored as expected. I haven't lived in this area very long but of the options in Tracy, this one is more authentic and fresh tasting than other options so far. read more

Attentive and friendly service, and a charming and beautiful dining room are highlights in this downtown Tracy restaurant. However, as friendly as the staff was, a welcome environment does not a flavorful meal make. I ordered wonton soup, chicken with green beans, broccoli beef and chow fun. Unfortunately as I tried each of these dishes, I noticed they tasted remarkably similar, even indistinguishable from one another. Each dish was bland! The won ton soup tasted like lukewarm water, with various pieces of very chewy meat to boot. One plus, each of the vegetables included in the dishes were fresh tasting, they just lacked any sort of flavor or seasoning. This is unfortunate, as the portions were generous and again, the vegetables were fresh. I'm sure a minor tweak of the recipes will be a huge benefit. I hope they stay around as they are friendly and professional and Tracy has a father low amount of quality Chinese establishments. read more

Recently went to pickup a large order totaling to $70 tip included , found out that the food was rushed and not fully cooked. Pot stickers were gooey and fried rice seems like it was old and reused. Mongolian beef was super chewy as well. Orange chicken was decent , threw all the food away after one or two dishes . On top of that I tipped them and they double charged my card by mistake, (it happens) but when I called the merchant they said "just call your bank it's there fault and check with them!" The banks always ask to check with the merchant so now I lost my money for the weekend until Monday or Tuesday when I have to make a claim and call! All for 1 order of takeout... and the food wasn't good, so I felt obligated to rate them as I should! Find another Chinese spot to eat at, this one isn't good & the service was bad. Ok, this place is OLD.... inside the building looks like it was from the 1800's and may have been a diner at some point, but it's GREAT food! We found it by chance, not from the area, and we're very pleasantly surprised. They were very accommodating for my 10 year old who has stomach issues w/ gluten. The left out the starch and went light on the oil but everything was still full of flavor and delicious. If we find ourselves in Tracy craving Chinese again, this will be our go to place. read more

I've driven by here so many times and never even noticed this place until my wife saw online while searching for Chinese food in Downtown Tracy. The food was excellent and very flavorful and the owner, hostess was so friendly. She even gave my sister in law a full bag of the hard candies that she loved. There was also a hairy man at the front named Sanchez who was telling me how smelly I was. I was baffled with how rude everyone was. To be honest though, it was not as flavorful as I would have expected even though it was saucy and looked good.
