Absolutely a "hidden gem" of the locally owned breakfast spots in worthy of all its praise! When you hear "classic diner experience" this is the kind of place you envision. Tucked into the corner of a little strip mall on the east side of Esco I can't imagine how many people have missed or passed it without giving a thought. I've lost track of how many breakfasts we have had at this diner over the years but the one consistent thing is the service is always on point and everything we have tried has been great (except the chicken fried steak which was perfectly average but I am SUPER picky about chicken fried steak). I tend to stick with omelettes but their pancakes and waffles are always delicious and honestly I can never decide if I like the hash browns or home fries more so that is always a last minute decision. It has sucked watching the prices go up but I would be disingenuous if I said I didn't understand that they are dealing with their own suppliers raising prices on them and if they did not raise the prices then they would go out of business. This is my goto breakfast place any time friends and family visit, can't recommend it strongly enough. read more

Came here on a whim after shopping in the area and had never seen it before. After a quick Yelp search decided to come in and give it a try for breakfast/lunch. We were seated quickly by a very friendly waiter who swiftly brought us drinks. I ordered a grilled turkey sandwich which was good, and served with a ton of french fries. They brought ranch on the side which was just ok- kind of flavorless. My husband had the Egg Benedict (which he always gets) and he said it was just ok. The sauce was kind of bland, and unfortunately that's what makes a good EB. The hash browns were also a little overcooked and had lots of brown pieces. The final straw for me was the ants climbing up the wall near our corner booth. I wanted to love this local spot but it was just ok, and I probably wouldn't return. Service was great though and everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant had a good amount of customers though and appears to be a popular local dining spot. read more

Waitress was extremely rude and gave us a hard time when we were two parties and need to pay separately. She overcharged us and forced gratuity then scolded me about how I wasn't allowed to pay for my party. The ambiance was a simple basic breakfast and cost $70 for two people. Omg, they have prime ribs here!! For breakfast brunch! At a price that beats Outback Steakhouse! It's also done really well and comes with Au ju sauce. Tender and juicy, two eggs the way you like and a side of hash or fruits. My friend got the sour dough Texas burger with onion rings and she really enjoyed it. Small cafe atmosphere, friendly servers, seems like a family owned place. Clean bathrooms that are stocked. I only wished they had their seasonal items placed on a separate menu or you would have to just look at the sign outside or on the chalkboard for it I would recommend this place as a go to breakfast place. I'm always looking for new breakfast spots to take my patient, and we came here on a Monday morning. It was a calm environment with great food and amazing service. Our waitress was very attentive. On the way out, my patient, who has an intellectual disability, noticed the beads hanging on the front decoration and started fussing because she wanted them. The waitress kindly took them down and gave them to her, which absolutely made her day. That small act of kindness meant so much. Okay- we came here multiple times and it was great.. then on our last visit- everything was different, the fries, the hamburger buns, the egg quality, the ranch.. it seemed like everything wasn't of as good quality. The kid's hamburger was dry- a the bun was burned, the fries were under cooked and floppy. The eggs Benedict is usually wonderful- but this time the eggs were so over cooked it was like 2 hard boiled eggs- as well as they were like tiny quail eggs. Not sure what happened.. but we won't be eating there again. They are a Very nice family, but the food just is not for us. Maybe we will try again in a few months. read more

I have always loved Mikki's cafe except since the past two visits. The last time was last year when the food quality started to slip. Todays meal was awful though to the point where I am hoping they don't serve what I ate again. The servers were absolutely incredible here and were attentive and so sweet they even took my meal off the bill after explaining it to them. I ordered the prime rib breakfast for $13.99. It came with hash-browns and eggs. I asked for crispy hashbrowns and they were mushy. I asked for over medium eggs and they were runny. The prime rib was so thin and tasted like it was rancid. This is the feel of your little town restaurant, but I actually feel more like it's a diner. That is positive. I've had very good meals and the family that runs the restaurant. Couldn't be any better. Customer service or friendliness. It's always a warm welcome. I haven't been for a while because I've been out of town, but I plan to go back. A mini pancake combo (with eggs and bacon) for the kid and country fried steak with eggs, hash browns , and toast. Hash browns could have been made fresh but the meat cutlet had the vibe of a freezer version. Still hit the spot. I've always wondered about this restaurant but never stopped, so I had some free time today and ordered French toast combo 4 pieces of French toast cut in half and it came with two eggs and hashbrowns and two pieces of bacon the eggs didn't look like they were cooked very well like I would like them. The potatoes were OK they were hashbrowns. It didn't have too much flavor was very and the bacon was very salty, the French toast didn't have a lot of flavor to it. It was OK and my coffee was like I was drinking light coffee water with creamer, I'm going to have to pass next time. The service was very good. read more

We're always pretty pleased when we visit Mikki's. They have great iced tea, amazing homemade breads, delicious home fried potatoes with peppers and onions and know how to cook an egg to order. The service is never bad and the food comes out quick. My advice is to avoid weekends as it's sometimes too busy and the food and service suffers. read more

So This place is near my job and I always see people coming so hey let's try it. Ordered the breakfast burrito plate. Burrito comes with nice fluffy eggs, thick lil pieces of ham, potatoes and cheese with a side of beans and rice. Burrito is massive and delicious. Rice and beans really good as well . I do not suggest going there in a large group. Six families (with some of our soccer team) went there for Saturday lunch. Our server would not individualize our checks with each family as we requested. I was surprised because without our team, it seems like it wouldn't have been a booming business that wouldn't want to make it easy for groups to dine there. I had a rueben sandwich with very little meat. For our family, It's just a mediocre experience altogether. Not bad; but with so many choices, I won't be visiting this restaurant again. read more
