13 seniors had a delicious lunch here today. The atmosphere and scenery were beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the patio and watching the golfers. Henley was our waitress and she did an outstanding job, taking our orders and serving us. Great personality! We enjoyed talking with her. The rest of the staff were also very attentive and friendly. It was really disappointing today. We would have taken refills and another wine, but no one asked. No one asked if everything was ok. Had to flag someone down to ask for ketchup. The salad was crappy with little chicken and cheese. I told the older server the service was terrible today and she said well we are swamped today with a golf event but we are still open to the public for lunch. This is the first and only time we will go there. They were out of two of the items we wanted and told us after we ordered them, no problem we gave substitutions but the waitress got all our orders wrong including our drinks. Didn't want to make a fuss so just ate what they gave us. We then got the bill and it was way more than it should have been. We had three young children with us so we ordered some items off the kids menu and after having to make substitutions because they did not have chicken tenders or fries we ordered a hamburger, cheeseburger and hot dog. They had charged us regular price for two cheeseburgers and a hot dogs and the kids drinks along with an extra drink. they said that they don't have those things on the kids menus, which it is clearly listed on the kids menus. I told them they should probably change their kids menus then. All they said was "sorry about that" On top of all of that the food was mediocre at best. read more

This place is amazing and we can't wait to go back even tho it's far from home!! We were in the area to get a puppy and stopped here because the photos of the food looked really good. The food exceeded our expectations! Everything was super fresh and delicious. We ordered a Cobb Salad and a Caesar lettuce wrap. The employees were really nice, super friendly and took really good care of us. Inside was nice and cool but the patio was fun with a view of the driving range. Accidently found this place when visiting Valley Center. A hard to find authentic homemade kitchen spot at the golf course. Great drinks as well. Tried Machaca burrito and a Shawii bagel. My husband and I stopped here on our way home from Harrah's. When we drove up I was a little bummed to see it's just a small kitchen, in a trailer, next to a golf course. Dear reader, I am happy to report that I am currently eating the most amazing sandwich of my life! I ordered the grilled veggie melt and added bacon with sweet potato fries. I was expecting the usual peppers, spinach, and onion... this baby is loaded with asparagus, artichokes, spinach, red onion, and tomatoes. A thin layer of shredded cheese is used on the outside of the bread to give it the perfect crispy texture without destroying the roof of your mouth. The bacon was thin and crispy but still juicy! And the sweet potato fries are waffle cut and tossed in cornmeal giving them a to die for crunch! It's counter service but the staff is very attentive. A great find all around! read more

Stopping by this restaurant on the golf course will not disappoint. Starting off with the atmosphere. It is so relaxing. There are seating options inside and out. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful they have so much knowledge on the whole menu so don't be afraid to ask questions! The food was AMAZING. I got the so cal chicken sandwich and it was so fresh and filling. It is served on a brioche bun and that it was so fluffy! My boyfriend got the firebird. It was FULL of flavor. The dressing on the chicken was spicy but not too overwhelming, combining that heat with the coleslaw was a combination to die for! Definitely will be returning whenever I am in the area. There is no signs or employees that told us anything or even asked if they could help us when we walked in with " confused" faces on where to start to eat. Since we live close, we've been trying to be supportive of local establishments, so we've given this place quite a few chances. Shawii Kitchen has been hit or miss...but more often a miss, unfortunately. Today I ordered a "BLT with AVOCADO" for $11. I even said the full name, including the "avocado" part when ordering on the phone. Avocado is in the sandwich's name, yet there was no trace of avocado to be found anywhere. Such a disappointment to discover with to-go meals, because what can you do when you're not there to have them fix it. Avocado would have really made that sandwich too. Some meals come with fries or chips, that we discovered too late in previous orders, were missing from the order,...along with ordering & paying for extra sides that weren't in the bag. I don't know if the people making the meal are just forgetful or don't know what's on the menu. I supposed we could also start taking everything out of the to-go bags and open every box up to double check before leaving, but it doesn't change the fact that having to stop and check someone's work all the time (when you're not employed there) is annoying & shouldn't be necessary. Today we accidentally discovered the Native Oaks Golf Club while out and about. We decided to check out the membership info. and eat there at the new Shawii Kitchen. Man, the girls (Hannah & Tori), taking our order were SUPER nice and accommodating! My husband had the French Dip and I had the most delicious sandwich I've ever had, the Grilled Veggie. Sounds basic but it was NOT! It was so good and sadly I didn't get a photo. Chef Amy came out to see if I needed anything and said that the sandwich had 3 different types of cheese inside plus the crispy parm that was grilled into the bread. Spinach, tomatoes, onions, grilled artichokes and asparagus were inside. You HAVE to have this sammy!!!! We will definitely be back! read more
