I found out last month, April, that they stopped serving dinner. Dinner has resumed at Toscano's in Murphy's. Would still recommend this restaurant for breakfast.

We stopped by here for brunch on our way to Yosemite. How can you pass up a place with such a curious name? Despite being called the Golden Frog there were none on the menu. The place is very clean and tidy inside. The server came immediately, got us waters, and took our order. I really liked my French toast with maple syrup and sides of hash browns and sunny side up eggs perfectly cooked. Everyone enjoyed their meals as well. Check them out!

We were up in Angels camp for the weekend and decided to try a breakfast spot. This is a fairly new family owned establishment. They also own another restaurant in Murphy's. It is a spacious room so has potential to get crowded. We ordered a scramble and omelette breakfast. While the eggs were great, the hash browns were very overly done and we couldn't eat much of them. The parts we could taste were tasty just needed to pull them off sooner and would have been fine. The side of bacon was done to our liking and French toast was fluffy and had a good cinnamon flavor. The coffee unfortunately was slightly more than lukewarm so didn't taste as good as a fresh hot pot would have been but was ok. Service however was fantastic! The staff was young but attentive and asked throughout if we needed anything. We did provide the feedback on the hashbrowns for future to them. Overall high potential just needed to make a few tweaks and they can easily slide up to four stars.

Chicken-fried steak n eggs

This was a little jewel for breakfast! Everything was fresh and delicious. There was homemade mango salsa that they gave me to put on my eggs with a thick perfectly cooked chicken fried steak and homemade gravy. The hashbrowns were plentiful and perfectly cooked tender yet crispy and they were very generous with the avocado on top. Coffee was hot and strong just like I like it and the service was impeccable. What a find

It is an impressive setting with great views; when one gets window or patio seating. Our meal lasted late afternoon to dusk, We saw one doe in somebody's front yard landscaping on the drive to Camps, and her herd on the green with the steel steer as we left. We started our meal with a delicious mocktail with sodw, lime, pineapple and? Then had a second with our shared skirt steak dinner. We are fiber fans in our 7th decade. I'd never eaten broccolini, unsophisticated me. Are the stems supposed to be tender as the asparagus stem end cut off and thrown away? Ours was. Great jaw exercise for our flapping chins and Lordy, Lordy! Such fiber. The steak and starch side were good. The dessert coffee (for me) and carrot cake (for us) was second among the several desserts on our south-north Spring 2026 Marathon Drive and Family Responsibility Tour. The advisor at our Best Western mentioned Mike's Pizza, a Thursday night Bocche Bowler on the Camps pitch mentioned Gus's Steak House. It was a fine night with the quiet, romantic elements Yelp is always quizzing about. Would we return or...too much fiber?

We ordered a few things such as as the duck prosciutto sandwich, raw oysters, clam chowder, and the absolute star of the show, a side of the spicy habanero garlic butter! The bread for the duck prosciutto sandwich was amazing. I just wish they put more meat and/or fixing because the sandwich was on the smaller side given the price tag. Tasty for sure, especially dipping the sandwich into the garlic butter. Oysters were super fresh, and wouldn't hesitate to order again. They have a bunch of jams and hot sauces that you can buy to take home, along with pre-packaged habanero garlic butter (which we ended up buying and have been putting on everything we've been eating). Definitely recommend picking up this butter for at-home cooking because it adds a nice layer of spice to any meal without being overly spicy. For the jams, there's so many options and the staff was kind enough to do a jam sampling with us and after tasting we ended up with a jar of their padron pepper jelly. Put it on my sandwich at home, instantly elevated it to another level. Staff from start to finish was a 10/10. Very kind, super attentive, and made us feel very welcomed. Overall, I'll definitely will be back to buy more of the spicy garlic butter and jams!

I elected to have it with butter served on a warm roll. An abundance of lobster. I followed that up with a bowl of New England clam chowder. Also another good choice. The server and owner were both very pleasant and accommodating. What nice hospitality. We ate at the counter. A nice dining experience.
