I had the chicken pesto sandwich and I'd rate it an 8/10. The sandwich itself was really good, but I definitely got more fries than sandwich. My boyfriend got the chicken fried steak. He said the chicken fried steak tasted good, but it got soggy pretty quickly. The hash browns were amazing though definitely tasted freshly made. Eggs were just okay. Service could've been a little better. It wasn't busy, and our server never came by to ask if we needed refills (which was noticeable because my boyfriend goes through water fast ). Angels Camp, we spent the night before we head to the cabin for T day. This place was close and we were hungry. Ample parking, looks like this was a dennys at one time but has been throughly remodeled with current fixtures etc. We had only one server on the floor this morning and it showed. We waited patiently as we should, life moves slower up this way. The short menu covered the basics and had all you would need for a meal, open till 2pm. M did a half pancake order, one instead of two pancakes, with fruit. An Omelet for me, add ur own ingredients, add protein is extra $. Fruit for me no potato, add a side of bacon (4) that we can share. Some water and a coffee Oh wait and add a strawberry shake togo. The food was out in good order, warm not hot, my cooked well bacon was cooked brittle...okay. The fruit dish was sliced bananas, blackberries and a few blueberries, served in an 8z dish. The portions were fair for the price these days. What I found is the atmosphere was just not there for me. Sure it was newish and modern but also cold and not very friendly. There was no character, no personality, nothing interesting from the dining room to the plate. Sure the food was ok but I doubt many locals are in here on a regular basis I didn't see them. Our Strawberry shake to go was well in a word "flavorless". The largest stuffed baked potato I have ever had is this surf and turf potato. After losing 85lbs I know I get at least 2 meals (take home half) and this will last me 3 more meals so 4 total! Tender beef, crab, loaded with cheese, this was one seriously good potato. "You don't make friends with salad" as they say but this salad was perfect. Fresh veggies, no head lettuce, and ranch dressing. Presentation was good along the potato. My wife got the pancakes and I like thin pancakes, almost like a thick Swedish pancake. These were thinner yet still fluffy and perfectly golden brown with your choice of Maple or Berrry Syrup. The Berry syrup was very good and soaked into the pancake perfectly. Great flavor. This is my first visit as they are brand new. We love Toscano's in Murphys owned by the same. We will definitely be back with friends for breakfast as breakfast is served all day and that puts a lot of smiles on people who love breakfast any time. Service was great, very attentive but not over bearing. Zero complaints. I saw some of the other reviews and there are only a few so we'll be back for a follow up review. 5 stars read more

Perhaps we came on an off day, but this didn't live up to the other yelp reviews. The good: we were greeted immediately upon arrival and allowed to pick our own table. The strawberry Italian soda, my daughter was very happy with. Hubby had the ham, eggs and hash browns. He said it was good, but the potatoes looked like they were frozen. The crepes were average. The pancakes were a little tough. I like to be able to just cut off bite sized pieces with just a fork, but had to use a knife. The other weird thing was that the syrups had a film on the top. I'm sure its from prepping them in advance, but I haven't seen it before. Decor was sparse, but the bathrooms were very clean! read more

The only redeeming thing about this restaurant is the staff who worked their butts off to try to keep up in an understaffed restaurant. Staff: 5 stars for effort, 3 stars for service. We repeatedly had to ask four times for anything: water, silverware, napkins, syrup for French toast. I mean, silverware, napkins are basics. Syrup items should be served with syrup. Coffee should be served hot and with an offer of cream, not require guests repeatedly chase down servers. They were racing around, no one slacking, but covering the basics would save them a lot of steps. Food: 3 stars. Pretty uninspired. Noise: insanely loud in here. Baffles or something are needed. We stopped by here for brunch on our way to Yosemite. How can you pass up a place with such a curious name? Despite being called the Golden Frog there were none on the menu. The place is very clean and tidy inside. The server came immediately, got us waters, and took our order. We were up in Angels camp for the weekend and decided to try a breakfast spot. This is a fairly new family owned establishment. They also own another restaurant in Murphy's. It is a spacious room so has potential to get crowded. We ordered a scramble and omelette breakfast. While the eggs were great, the hash browns were very overly done and we couldn't eat much of them. The parts we could taste were tasty just needed to pull them off sooner and would have been fine. The side of bacon was done to our liking and French toast was fluffy and had a good cinnamon flavor. The coffee unfortunately was slightly more than lukewarm so didn't taste as good as a fresh hot pot would have been but was ok. Service however was fantastic! The staff was young but attentive and asked throughout if we needed anything. We did provide the feedback on the hashbrowns for future to them. Overall high potential just needed to make a few tweaks and they can easily slide up to four stars. read more

This was a little jewel for breakfast! Everything was fresh and delicious. There was homemade mango salsa that they gave me to put on my eggs with a thick perfectly cooked chicken fried steak and homemade gravy. The hashbrowns were plentiful and perfectly cooked tender yet crispy and they were very generous with the avocado on top. Coffee was hot and strong just like I like it and the service was impeccable. Absolutely excellent breakfast! Four of us had breakfast on Saturday morning. We were greeted warmly and served by a very friendly waitress. I had Huevos Rancheros (spicy) and they were super good. My niece had chocolate pancakes and she was a happy camper. Mother had chicken & waffles and said, "Who would have thought that combination would be so yummy!" (Ive had places serve me 'crispy' bacon that I would not consider crispy at all) We also tried the chicken fried steak: bomb! And even though it was breakfast they allow you to order lunch, so on our second visit my husband ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich: also bomb! Hashbrowns are good; herbed crispy potatoes are also a win. The fries that came with the cheesesteak were very good! Crispy and delish! The food here is very good. Waffles with fruit on top is my favorite. Recently, they have been having a special of chicken fried steak with eggs or biscuits and gravy. Both are amazing. The gravy is delicious. This morning we went to breakfast there and my husband had the breakfast burrito for the first time. It was good, but when he added the homemade salsa, it was phenomenal. Inquired about the salsa found out the owner makes it herself and it is delicious. I would put it on everything. Service was good. Our waitress was very efficient polite, friendly not overwhelming. Very disappointed even more so because, I suggested it to guests from out of town. 4 out of 9 of us got the breakfast burrito... it's was a basic omelet with a tortilla around it and a few shreds of cheese half melted.
