I don't eat fast food very often but I was passing through and was hungry, so I stopped here. What a pleasant surprise that was! The place is clean, the service was friendly and efficient and the food was definitely a step above what I think of as fast food. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and made it a meal (fries and med. drink) for an additional $2, definitely a bargain. When I took the burger out, it was neatly wrapped in an outer paper but inside of that, it was wrapped in another paper, only halfway up so you could eat it and not have the juices dripping in you. The patty looked freshly made, not like a typical frozen or boxed patty and the burger was delicious! You could taste each component or the burger, I think because everything was fresh. This seems to be a small fast food chain in the Angel's Camp area. We saw it passing through on the way to our condo and decided to give it a try, better choice than McDonalds. I tried their pastrami which came on toasted French roll, it was tender very lean and full of flavor. Next time I'm in the area I'll have to try their large hamburger selection. I'll be back. I have been coming to this Frosty's for years with my boys when we were going boating or to Old Oak Ranch. The burgers were always great and the shakes were amazing! The food is still good and the staff is helpful! So why only three stars? Let's begin with it is summer and it is hot and there is no air conditioning! While you're eating your sweating a different version of weight loss while you eat! The second reason why only three stars is the place was not clean and there was no ice for the soft drinks! The Frosty in Angels Camp is soooo good. We have had multiple of their dishes over time. Excellent Pastrami, burgers, chicken strips, corn dogs. The fries are delicious and they have the BEST milkshakes and even provide the large straws for easy drinking. They are very reasonably priced. We have only gone through the drive through as we are passing through but the window servers were great and friendly. We stop by occasionally just for the milk shakes. What a crappy experience. The girl at the drive through and front counter taking our orders had the worst attitude like she was personally doing us a favor by taking our orders. After 5 minutes of waiting at the counter she finally showed up. We ordered a combo meal and a chocolate shake and she threw another attitude saying ugh it's going to take a long time. I said ok and finished my order. My food came and finally after 10 minutes I go back up to check on my shake and the same girl said you never ordered a shake. And I said yes I did. And she said no check your receipt I never charged you for it. So now I'm like what the heck? I ordered it why didn't you charge me and why don't i have a shake? And she just gave more attitude so I said just forget it. After the way she acted there was no way I was spending any more money there and I never will again. For a fast food type restaurant, I thought this place was pretty good. I ordered a Grilled Chicken Sandwich Combo which goes for $10.79. It came with french fries and a soft drink. The sandwich was good and the portions were generous. I also tried out the soft serve and thought their chocolate cone was also quite good. This is the type of place where the phrase 'don't judge a book by its over' really applies. From the outside it looks really old school, and based off looks alone, I had really low expectations, but ended up leaving very surprised. After a 7 mile walk, a burger sounded so good. We decided to go with the Angels Burger which came with a two patties, bacon, onion rings, and veggies. We go the combo with fries and drink which was like $12. After pulling it out of the bag, this thing had some weight to it, pretty darn heavy. From the looks of it, it reminded me of something like a backyard bbq burger, and I really enjoyed it. This is a nap time burger, because if you eat a whole one, you'll need a nap after. The freshly grilled burger, crunch bacon, it was very well executed. The fries were not my favorite though. Maybe they needed more salt, but I just didn't care for them. If you are looking for a tasty burger, yet affordable burger, this definitely checks those boxes. No frills, just how I like it. There's a Frosty in Angels Camp, CA. I stopped on in for the first time last month. The menu is pretty large with lots of burger, sandwich, hot dogs, appetizer, and soft serve options including a kids menu. Price points were cheaper than most fast food joints. For hard core carnivores, they even have a burger called Big Valley which has five stacked patties $10.99. I didn't order that but sure wanted to see someone tackle one though. I did however order a pastrami sandwich combo $13.99 to share with Hubs. The food came out quick and hot. The pastrami was thinly shaved and piled high. The combo came with large fries and a medium fountain drink. The fries were crinkle cut and lightly dusted with a seasoning salt. Yum! I enjoyed those. But the pastrami was lacking in flavor and a bit stringy. As I sat there nibbling on the pastrami sandwich and coming to accept the fate that I'm not into it. I noticed a steady flow of folks coming in to order soft serve cones. Beautifully swirled and presented soft serves. Those were in quite a demand on this summer day. The dining area has the look of a typical fast food joint of the late 1980s. Probably since it hasn't been remodeled since then. Love their mozzarella sticks and deef friend mushrooms. Always hot and fresh tasting. French fries are perfectly salted and the burgers are delicious. Have been here several times. I have received the wrong order and cold food multiple times. I've also had several strawberry milkshakes that taste like vanilla. However, the most disappointing is the dipped cones. I have never had a dipped cone where the chocolate shell is soft, super thin, and has ice cream spewing out of holes in it. Their ice cream options are really good, but the dipped cones are awful. I asked for it double dipped to see if it would help, it was a little better as it actually formed a slight shell as seen in the photo. An employee said they use melted chocolate chips & the dip always turns out that way. I'm thinking it's how they make the dip. read more

Not sure why I don't follow my own rules and not visit low Yelp rated locations. People were nice, location is convenient and the remaining is just not good. The food was bad. Had a double cheese burger combo and ordered it with pickles, mustard and Mayo. Burger was delivered with Mayo and Catsup and enough of both to make soup. The bun was super sweet and absorbed as much of the liquid as it could, but still seeped out everywhere. Gross. Fries were the cheapest frozen crinkle cut possible and while there was a large quantity, they were awful and not edible. Lesson reinforced to avoid low rated locations. The meat was dry dry dry it was not hot and it was not freshly cooked! It seemed like it was pre-cooked and sitting there drying out. It was supposed to come with a sauce and I was told onions lettuce and tomato but it came plain with pickles no sauce nothing else just a couple of pickles and a dry burger.
