I live in Tomahawk and have shopped at Golden Harvest since before they moved to the new big glorious location. My local grocers do not carry a big enough choice of fresh organic produce to shop at their establishments. They're loss of business is Golden Harvest's gain! This is quite a store! Wow! I was super pleased to find this level of organic food store in the area. I just moved to the northwoods from Chicago and was overjoyed to find the wide variety of organic produce and range of product. I see they keep up with current demands such as grass fed meat, organic bones for bone broth , raw kombucha dispensing machine ( this one blew me away!), and oodles of other probiotic choices. Super large bulk bags of grains and rice, to a slice of cake in the bakery, this store has thought of every need for the health- oriented shopper. Attached is also a green house, and a vast selection of lawn art and decorative gardening products like pots and benches. I drive an hour to get there and it's worth it. Highly recommended. In fact, I'm going back today. read more

I have very much appreciated this store and drive 60 miles to get there. But they do not encourage social distancing, their employees do not wear masks,and they do not require customers to wear masks. I feel crowded and unsafe in a store that I have had great respect for in the past. Now, not so much. read more

It's very expensive, but cute. There's also a weird, kind of creepy religious vibe going on. Like, women all in skirts running the cash registers. The men are in the back part of the store singing hymns. I think for most people, this is fine, but it makes me uncomfortable. The hilarious thing is, that I want to like this store, so I keep going back. Alas, every time I do, I get the weird religious vibe again and I don't go back for a few months. I wish that didn't happen because they have the most devine bakery. The whole store is great, if you don't mind slightly pricey items and a strange religious overtone. If you are like me, and get uncomfortable around that kind of thing, you might want to check out Trigs Grocery store down the street. UPDATE: I am updating this review because they moved the store to a bigger location and things have changed. I was at 3 stars, but now I am at 4. The new location is beautiful. They did a really great job of making it look like a cute, homey, natural food store. While the old store was cramped and hard to navigate, the new store is open, big and has space to shop. The new bakery/deli section is awesome! The sandwiches are delicious and I highly recommend the turkey with cranberry. The weird religious overtone is still there, but I think it's tolerable now because the store is bigger. I know that doesn't make sense, but every time I go in now, I'm not as creeped out. It's still a little pricey, but hey, you pay for quality and I would much rather shop at Golden Harvest than Trigs or Walmart. read more

This store is the greatest. It is a place you can buy organic food that taste so great and is so great for you. I live 55 miles away and shop there every week for fresh veggies and fruit plus many other items. The people working there are so nice and helpful too. Food producers don't seem to pay attention to the health of a person and the health people don't pay attention to the food we eat to cure us. This is the place to eat or health and taste. read more

I have shopped with Golden Harvest for many years and now, I am an employee there as well. I absolutely love it! It is a wonderful store where the owners are 100% committed to the quality and freshness of our products as well as the general health and wellness of our customers! Our owners, Timothy and Nikki Conjurske, go to great lengths to verify the quality of the not only the products on our shelves, but the ingredients of those products. It is a common practice for Nikki to contact companies, distributors, and/or the farms even, where the components of our supplements, for example, are raised, to verify the practices utilized meet her criteria and are the most highest of quality we can get our hands on! Our customers, myself included from the years when I was only a shopper, have no idea the effort that goes in behind the scenes to ensure only the best products are on our shelves. For example, nothing in our store will ever contain corn syrup, GMO, or a full list of synthetic dyes and/or preservatives, ect. Should you ever come across an item that does.... Please, bring it to our attention! On occasion companies will change their recipes and it gets past us. But once we are aware those items will immediately be pulled from our shelves because the $$ is not our bottom line. The quality and your health is. Period. As far as the "creepy religious vibe" (haha!), yes, some of our employees do wear longer skirts... Which is their right as free Americans. However, I don't find skirts to be any more creepy that the tattoos that some of our other employees have, or the piercings that I even have. In fact, I wear skirts myself on occasion. None of it strikes me as "creepy". Yes, their wearing of skirts are a choice based on religious convictions. As a middle aged mother of two teenagers, and smaller children who will also be teenagers someday, I admire their commitment to modesty in this day and age! It is a nice alternative example for my children to observe in this highly sexualized society that we live in today; and a principal that I actually share and try to instill in all of my five children, the girls as well as the boys! And men singing in the back... Haha! We aren't paid to sing. And I'm not aware of anyone who has enough free time on their hands to just hang out in the back, singing away. We are a fairly busy establishment... Any singing one desires to do would have to be on their own time. With that being said, when I am stocking shelves I may sing to myself, as other employees may do... But that would be the extent of singing here at the big GH! In conclusion, and addition to other reviewers acknowledgement of our prices, yes, we have excellent pricing! It IS possible to feed an entire family on healthy, whole, nutritious foods when shopping at Golden Harvest. We do purchase a lot in bulk and then break down those products into smaller containers and pass those savings along in an effort to keep our prices low as well. When compared to other store like us across the nation, we are outstanding! If you value your health and wellness... We are certainly a place to check out! Come in! Ask questions! Meet everyone!
