Servers come around to check on you, all are very nice. They put effort into your meal. Others at the table got a large platter so the waiter gave a fun presentation of platting the food and even feeding one person the first bite. Sad to report mostly negative comments about what was once a great dining establishment. Service was totally lacking. 1 waiter for over 25 tables. We ordered a salad and lamb pie as appys. The salad arrived with ricket speed, the pie came with our entrees. My lamb kebabs, ordered medium rare, was terribly overcooked! Nothing worse than overcooked lamb. One of our 4 entrees was forgotten, but thankfully it appeared with only a little distraction. Service was terrible. Prices have risen dramatically and I understand increased food costs. A huge beautiful restaurant. The staff was friendly and professional. Food came out relatively fast. We had shepherd salad and fried wheat balls as appetizers. This might be the best Turkish restaurant in Monmouth County! The ambiance is very relaxing . The food is solid Turkish and not pretentious. And the food is reasonably priced with good portions. Now if the service was just a tad more engaged, the place would be stupidly great. We had an engaging waiter who delivered at the beginning attentive service but after the delicious main was served, got lost for the night. We waited and waited for the table to be cleared after finishing dinner. We had the mixed grill with three or four different meats in it covered by a thin pastry and it was great! So were the boreks, which are fillo dough filled with feta wrapped in a cigar shape. The mix grill was suppose to come with veggies which never made an appearance. Still, it was great and leftovers good the next day. It's BYO so that's a plus. Got Turkish coffee and tea after the meal along with baklava and it was a nice finish. read more

From the moment we walked into this incredible hidden Turkish gem near the Jersey Shore Outlets, we knew we were in for something special, but we had no idea just how awesome it would be. If you're anywhere near Tinton Falls or Asbury Park and you don't stop here for dinner, you're definitely missing out. The soul of our experience? Omer. Omer wasn't just our server... he was our host, our comedian, and our friend by the end of the night. Kind, funny, gracious, and genuinely attentive, he treated us like long-lost family. He didn't just take our order, he took the time to get to know us and made our evening fun. Now, the food? Next level. Everything from the beverages and mocktails, to the fresh-out-of-the-oven pita bread served with olive oil on the side (with little olive slices swimming in it) to the appetizers, to the entrees was all stunning. If you love filet mignon and mushroom cream sauce, then stop reading over the other entree choices and just order the filet mignon with cream sauce. It's happiness on a plate. You'll wonder how you ever lived without it. We were pretty full after our entrees so we asked for the check. But Omer, with a grin, ensured us that we wanted dessert. He knew something we didn't. And the moment he rolled over the dessert cart, we knew he was absolutely right. There was a variety of options including a tres leches cake. Omer said it was his personal favorite. He told us it had just been made fresh before we arrived, and it was already the third tray they'd gone through by 6:30 PM that day. I thought to myself, "What does a Turkish restaurant know about tres leches cake?" OMG! Let me answer that for you. Everything. They know everything about tres leches cake, and things the rest of us didn't even know we needed to know about tres leches cake. This cake was divine. It had a heavenly layer on top with a texture and taste I honestly can't even describe. Just know it was otherworldly. When you're eating it, the world stops. Time doesn't exist. It's just you and the cake. Even my wife, who doesn't like tres leches cake because she says it's a "wet cake," couldn't stop raving. She said it isn't even soggy. It's just perfect. So if she loved it, then you know it's the real deal. If you're reading this and you're hungry and in the area, or just feel like taking a road trip , don't think twice. Such a generous portion we had a lot leftover. We ordered a dessert that was like a chocolate tres leches. So so good! They have Dubai chocolate desserts that we are going back next time with the kids. We met the woman who makes the desserts DAILY- nothing sits. Housed in the building that previously housed Ruby Tues, it had that same funky smell when I entered! The new owners, who own a couple of other Golden Horn restaurants, have hired professional chefs, and it shows. One of the owners stopped by everyone's table and shared how they decided to open their 3rd(?) restaurant. She was very personable & welcoming. Though prices are crazy high for this area ($105. for 2 for lunch), the food presentation was impeccable and the taste was out-of-this-world delicious!
