Great food , and service. Good price too. Highly recommend. Many varieties of food you can choose

    Philly cheese Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich

Way too expensive for the disappointment... I bought Philly cheesesteaks and the barley was meat on it...just imagine ordering four sandwiches spending almost $75 and looking at an empty sandwich smh.. never again ...

We were looking for a quick dinner and stumbled upon this place last night (03/13) during our visit to NJ and were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food! We ordered the K8 plate. The chicken and lamb were both succulent and delicious, the rice was flavorful and seasoned well, the side salad had a hint of grape leaves and complimented the meal perfectly. It also came with a yogurt sauce and hot sauce; the hot sauce was not overtly spicy but had some heat as an aftertaste which I personally loved. The place is not too fancy, and the meal was served in disposable containers. But the staff were friendly and helpful and the place was clean overall. Would I return/recommend? Absolutely! If we're ever back in this area, I would come again for a quick meal.

Dog food served as a dish. This was a disgrace to afghan food and the food and fries looked like they were microwaved. When I bit into them they were stale. I was going to say something and realized that they won't refund overpriced food especially in the disgusting hot sweaty flies roaming around in this area. If you like your money and your colon, don't come here.

First time. Both had a platter and took it home. Meat was tasty and the sauces very good. The rice we didn't like all that much as a bit oily or greasy. Will try just sandwiches next time. Food was ready quickly.

    Traditional Gyro Sandwich

Just got my lunch delivery-- 5 Stars to Flame Kabob and a high five to Noah S. who was our Door Dash driver - he's super cool!! I ordered the traditional gyro sandwich, side of hummus, shepherds salad and extra tzatziki sauce. Hummus is really good, in fact- I'm shoving it into my mouth now with the pita bread that came with it- I think I should have ordered more pita. Shepherds salad is tasty, it was missing tomatoes- which I thought there would be more of -for me I like more Oil and lemon juice, luckily I have oil and vinegar here in my handy -dandy -hidden desk drawer and lemons for my water in the fridge-a little dash was all it took- I would definitely would order this again, it was refreshing. The gyro was very very tasty and well put together, not to mention heavy, the sauce was complimentary to the sandwich. I have to say that Flame Kabob House has been added to my lunch list of places to order from!! Give this local spot a shot, good food, great service.

Chicken and lamb tika over Afghani rice.

Chicken and lamb tika with rice was amazing. Falafel was also excellent as it was nice and moist. Afghani owners are super friendly and hospitable. Will definitely return when back in the area.

    Chicken kebab very good!

I did take out here yesterday as I was in the area, and I enjoy eating Afghan food. I ordered the chicken shish kebab dinner, and it was very good! They gave me a generous portion for a very reasonable price. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender. It also came with homemade pita bread and Afghan sauces that were delicious! The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I thought the Afghan rice was more Americanized. It was good, but it didn't have the Afghan flavor versus other places I go too. I recommend Flame Kebab in Neptune Township!

Sorry, I was hungry - this photo was an afterthought

Pretty darn good! I had the gyro platter and it was enough for 2 people - the rice and salad was fish and delicious, the meat was tasty/flavorful and the taziki sauce was delicious. I also ordered hummus which was ok, I thought I would have had more than one pita bread but oh well. Overall a great meal. I'll be back!

    Mixed Gyro Platter
    Marley M.

Simply amazing. I ordered a gyro combo platter and a side of hummus. It was SOOOO PERFECT and cured my NYC-Gyro craving. The rice was perfect. The seasoning was perfect. The meat was perfect. The white sauce was perfect. I will absolutely come here again when in town.

We opted to sit at the bar because the vibe looked good. I had a lemondrop martini from the half price menu and it was good but a little too sweet. Then I had the Blood Sugar Sex Magic from the regular menu and it was unique and fun. I then had an espresso martini with dessert. I was feeling good after that. We did three appetizers: hummus, falafel, and the halloumi. The hummus had a nice texture but it could have used a little more lemon and garlic. But it was served with a jumble of fresh herbs on top which was very nice. The falafel was amazing. The texture was perfect: very crispy on the outside and light and fluffy inside. Not like the dense falafel you get in some places. It was serviced on top of a delicious red pepper sauce. The server told me it was an old family recipe. The halloumi was fantastic. Very generous and covered in a very crispy coating. It sat in a pool of hot honey. They brought the appetizers out one at a time, which was the perfect way to pace it. We were pretty full by the end so we shared one entrée. We had the lamb kofta. It was cooked perfectly and sat atop a pomegranate labneh. It was also delicious. For dessert my husband had the chocolate cake which was only ok. I had the baklava malabi which was sooo delicious. Great meal and excellent service. Paul the bartender was friendly and made good drinks.

The service was excellent throughout the entire evening, and every cocktail we ordered was fantastic. We started with a few appetizers, which were the perfect way to kick off the meal before diving into our mains. For dinner, we ordered the Duck Rice, Schnitzel, octopus, and mushroom skewer. While everything was delicious, the Duck Rice and Schnitzel were the clear standouts. Both were packed with flavor, and the Schnitzel was an especially generous portion without feeling over the top. It was perfectly cooked and incredibly satisfying. To top off the night, we headed downstairs to their cocktail bar, Laylow, and had an amazing time. The atmosphere was fun, the cocktails were just as impressive as dinner, and it was the perfect way to end the evening. If you're in Asbury Park, I definitely recommend checking out Reyla and making a stop at Laylow afterward. Great food, outstanding service, amazing drinks, and an all-around memorable experience.

It takes about 30 minutes to get your food and even longer to get a check after the fact. Which is crazy because my table was only one out of 3 other tables in the restaurant. Part of me thinks the reason the service isn't as good is because they know they're automatically getting that tip, but another part of me hopes that isn't the case. This place was quiet at 5:30 on a Sat night. At 6pm a party of 4 came in and at 6:30 a party of 2 came in. I don't know how this place was not PACKED because this food is INCREDIBLE! Truly. Before I left, there was a couple who came in who he badgered loudly when they asked him for suggestions. He's definitely not a people person. He does a better job being in the back of the house as the food was grilled well. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and tried something different that I wouldn't normally gravitate towards. Lamb is not my favorite but I ordered it anyway despite coming in for the salad. I also had the lime and mint drink. Pretty expensive for a small glass and no refills. The food wasn't worth the price and the service was poor. I literally had to go to the back to ask him for extra napkins which he eventually took from an adjacent empty table. Did I mention the place was empty for most the of the time I was there? I also had to get up and go to the back to ask for more water and finally for the check. He was busy washing dishes the last time. Glad I tried something different but next time I do it won't be at cafe 28.
