We came here for an early dinner. We ordered the following: Beef Kafta Kabob, which had prime ground beef marinated and seasoned with herbs and saffron spices, broiled over an open flame. We all liked this a lot. Mixed Gyro Platter, which has lamb and beef gyro mixed with chicken, grilled with onions and bell peppers, served over rice, topped with their signature white sauce. This was surprisingly huge. The value was amazing and the chicken was surprisingly moist throughout. This entree reminded Hubs of Halal Guys when it was still a street cart. Daughter also liked this a lot. Falafel $10 Sampler, which has falafel served with hummus and shepherd salad. The falafel was one of the best ones Hubs had in a while. He said that Jersey falafels leave a lot to be desired. The shepherd salad was nice and refreshing and the hummus was nice and smooth. It made him wish he ordered more pita. This is more of a takeout place. According to Hubs, this place felt abandoned. We hardly saw the cashier. He took our order and didn't come back out until our order was ready. After that, he went back into the kitchen and stayed there and never came back out. This is a great place for takeout. We were looking for a quick dinner and stumbled upon this place last night (03/13) during our visit to NJ and were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food! We ordered the K8 plate. The chicken and lamb were both succulent and delicious, the rice was flavorful and seasoned well, the side salad had a hint of grape leaves and complimented the meal perfectly. It also came with a yogurt sauce and hot sauce; the hot sauce was not overtly spicy but had some heat as an aftertaste which I personally loved. The place is not too fancy, and the meal was served in disposable containers. But the staff were friendly and helpful and the place was clean overall. Would I return/recommend? Absolutely! Ordered the chicken tandoori kabob platter and the hummus recently through DoorDash. The tandoori platter was delicious - it came with a white cream sauce and a hot sauce on the side. I was going to say something and realized that they won't refund overpriced food especially in the disgusting hot sweaty flies roaming around in this area. We have eaten here several times and always enjoy the food. That hot sauce is HOT be careful and the white sauce deliciously minty. The chicken kabobs are delish as are the falafel plate, gyro platter, salads and hummus. My only complaint is that it feels very cheap that they give you only half of a pita even when you PAY for an extra pita?! I was hoping it was a fluke, but no happened again this week. We ordered a side of Hummus which is plentiful but it only came with a half of a pita which is not enough to finish the container of hummus sharing with two people. We also asked for an extra pita to make a kabob wrap again only given half a pita which we never expected when paying for a whole pita, so we didn't check the bag until after we left. Also ordered a gyro platter, and you guessed it, it also only came with half a pita. A whole pita should come with your order, it feels cheap to cut them in half, and makes people wonder where else you cut corners as it doesn't save you much money, but you may lose customers you already have. Maybe ask guests do you want whole or half pita because you can't make a sandwich with a half pita but some people may want to cut carbs and not have pita at all, it should be a choice but most certainly when a guest pays for an extra pita they should get a whole one. Just a thought because what a waste of delicious Hummus that we couldn't eat unless we used our fingers to dip in it. Just got my lunch delivery-- 5 Stars to Flame Kabob and a high five to Noah S. who was our Door Dash driver - he's super cool!! I ordered the traditional gyro sandwich, side of hummus, shepherds salad and extra tzatziki sauce. Hummus is really good, in fact- I'm shoving it into my mouth now with the pita bread that came with it- I think I should have ordered more pita. Shepherds salad is tasty, it was missing tomatoes- which I thought there would be more of -for me I like more Oil and lemon juice, luckily I have oil and vinegar here in my handy -dandy -hidden desk drawer and lemons for my water in the fridge-a little dash was all it took- I would definitely would order this again, it was refreshing. The gyro was very very tasty and well put together, not to mention heavy, the sauce was complimentary to the sandwich. I have to say that Flame Kabob House has been added to my lunch list of places to order from!! Give this local spot a shot, good food, great service. read more

I did take out here yesterday as I was in the area, and I enjoy eating Afghan food. I ordered the chicken shish kebab dinner, and it was very good! They gave me a generous portion for a very reasonable price. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender. It also came with homemade pita bread and Afghan sauces that were delicious! The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I thought the Afghan rice was more Americanized. It was good, but it didn't have the Afghan flavor versus other places I go too. So this is the second time I've been here since moving to the area. The first during the early sad days and desperate days of the pandemic. Business was slow but spirits were high and the food was good here. I'm expecting good food again today but I have to take two solid stars away for the lack of cleanliness here. When your shoes stick to the floor and everything is grimy and dirty, it affects ones appetite and certainly confidence. The restroom is filthy. Disgusting! So we have tried our best to support our local halal restaurants but this was the last time we come to Flame Kebob house. Found a nice dust bunny intertwined with some thread in my beef chapli kebab entree. I should mention the "brother" who we complained to assumed immediately it was a piece of ladies hair...let me clarify, I am a hijabi (which means I cover my hair) so it wasn't mine. Unfortunately, I was unable to take a picture because the gentleman I'm assuming was the owner? Quickly took it away and tossed it in the trash. He had offered to replace it but no thanks. Honestly? No complaints after living in the area for two years and eating here about twice a month. The prices are beyond reasonable. Everything I've had, from kebabs, to gyros, to simple burgers are good. Fries are fire, and so are the desserts. Not a place I would expect to find a great red velvet cake, but it has it. read more

You are good people but you need to take heed to your customers and comments. Small portions, no sizable bread, no salad or chick peas with the dinner meal is 50% less than what your customers are used to, for the same or less money. Nondescript looking place in a weird location right before the circle in Neptune, you can eat in or take out ... not a "fancy" place with tablecloths and crystal... but wow, yes 5 stars for the friendly service and awesome food. The chicken tikka was the best I've had anywhere, the chicken was tender and melted in the mouth. Lamb korma was delicious and addicting, makes you want to use all the naan bread to soak up every last drop of the sauce. basmati rice was cooked perfectly, not a single tough grain. My son's chicken cheesesteak was awesome as well. This place is billed as "Afghanistan and Middle Eastern food," but the chicken tikka and lamb korma in this "hole in the wall" puts fancy Indian restaurants to shame. read more

We need more Afghan spots like this in Monmouth County! I was so excited when I saw this place open up awhile back, and FINALLY got in to try some of their food. Admittedly my first impression on the location was "random," because we don't have anything like this around (at least that I'm aware of). But I am truly thankful that Flame Kabob House has laid its foundation conveniently off the Route 66 / Route 35 traffic circle bordering Ocean. I live in Wall and got there in under 10 minutes to pick up my takeout order (okay, maybe my hunger had something to do with the quick trip). Feel free to judge me, but my first experience here was fueled by that "haven't eaten a legit meal all day" hunger. I knew they opened at 5pm but I called at 4:58pm because clearly my stomach couldn't last another two minutes (this is the part where you judge me). Someone promptly picked up the phone and took my order with ease. No attitude or snide remarks telling me they weren't open yet (yes, we all know some unfriendly service establishments have pulled that in the past). My order was taken swiftly with a turnaround time of 20 minutes. I decided not to be a complete loser and waited to show up until the FULL 20 minutes had passed. The man behind the counter had a really bright, warm and friendly aura. My food was ready waiting for me, and once I paid without issue I "raced" home to get early dinner started. I've never had Banjan Borani as an appetizer before, but after having it here I'll never forget the name. The eggplant was fresh, perfectly cooked and basking in a royally delicious sauce. I decided to seize the moment and skim a piece of my qabuli rice through that sauce, which made it even better. Qabuli rice is not actually rice but more of a naan-like bread served with the entree dishes. I opted for the Chicken Tikka Kabob entree and was not disappointed. The chicken was PERFECTLY cooked and seasoned. I especially loved the sauces that came on the side, one of which was definitely a type of hot sauce, and the other presented itself as a creamy sort of 'ranch' equivalent. This place is VERY generous with the Afghan rice portions, so much so that I have a third of it leftover to pair with something creative tomorrow :) Here comes my only complaint, and the reason I could not give this awesome place five stars... my rice was lacking the carrots and raisins described on the menu and featured in the pictures. Disappointing since I was most excited about trying the rice with those accompaniments and it was definitely listed on the menu. Not sure if they were out of stock or if this was an innocent misstep, but I'll be back again to try more dishes and undoubtedly look forward to getting some carrots & raisins on my plate. read more

This place is honestly my go to when I don't feel like cooking. I always go for the mixed gyro platter with extra white sauce (bbq sauce is also good). You get a huge portion of healthy food, that you can probably eat for two meals, at an extremely good price. Also, their pita bread is absolutely delicious and makes the meal that much better.
