Went to a pool party at Golden Hour Rooftop at Level 8. The ambiance was nice, although I expected a little more of a party vibe. Overall, it was still a good atmosphere with a decent crowd and good energy. The waitress was attentive, the food was good, and I'd definitely give another pool party there a try.

First time here...honestly I thought it was just okay. Nothing extraordinary like wowww! Service was good and we tried ordering food but were told that kitchen was closed and it barely 9p. Wth! Drinks were on the mediocre side, too sweet one and the other was just watered down. We had a total 4 drinks ordered just to see if maybe it was the drink but no there was just no consistency when making the drinks. Ambiance was nice. It must have been like a Jamaican night or dj was Jamaican because that's all that was being played. It has a nice view so I think this in a way kinda makes up for the overall experience.

They advertised a FIFA World Cup watch party for the Spain v France game on eventbrite and Instagram but when we arrived they were closed, and didn't open until half time because someone had emailed them. Goofy move is all.

cool place wasn't here long but definitely will come back. the drinks and crowded seem cool. there was a piano bar around the same floor that also seem pretty cool.

I came here for the holiday event Winter Hour which was so much fun! Parking was madness because there was a game downtown that same night - but I got lucky with a spot in one of the lots. I got a complimentary drink, there was a s'mores station and cute photo ops spots. I would definitely come back next year for this.

The first drink on the Winter wonderland menu I forgot what it was called

Came here after watching the game at crypto, I saw it on Instagram and had high hopes for this place. The drinks were OK, a bit overpriced. It was super crowded, which I kind of expected, but it took forever to get a drink and it wasn't that great. It looked beautiful though and the ambience and aesthetics are nice. I expected the carousel to spin, it didn't. The little igloos to make s'mores we're really cute but that was also a little overpriced too. Cute little date spot. Just expect to spend a pretty penny for mediocre music and drinks.

I highly recommend bringing cash if you come here and beware of the bartenders. The first time I came here I caught the bartender taking a photo of my debit card. When I caught him and ask why he said to remember the business name on my card. Super weird and suspicious lol. I ended up going home and canceling my card the same night. This second time I came I decided to give this place the benefit of the doubt and caught the server adding herself an extra tip. She said don't worry I already included the tip you don't need to add any extra. I checked my receipts and she added herself an extra $10 tip per drink that I order. She said each drink is $30 lol. Really beautiful spot with a node view and sunset but suspicious workers. Definitely recommend bringing cash if you come to avoid fraud and also checking the price of the items on the menu before you order.

Overcharged me for a super greasy cheese quesadilla.

This place is way over priced for not so good food. I ordered a cheese Quesadilla & they charged me $18 for a Jerk quesadilla. The service was ok only & they charged me a mandatory 20% tip. Here is a tip for whoever reads this. Go somewhere else.

The ambiance here is pretty cool, but the service is slow and the drinks are very hit or miss. I would recommend coming up here to check out the view/ambiance if you're nearby, but otherwise this is a place I would pass on.

Came to Golden Hour for my birthday and it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Audreyanne was our server and she was great! The vibes were everything! This is the place to be if you are looking for a rooftop sunset bar. We had espresso martinis, dirty martinis and margaritas and the drinks DO NOT DISAPPOINT!! Golden Hour at Level 8 is a 10 out of 10 and I would highly recommend for any special occasion or just for a fun weekend spot!

    $100 per person

It's okay to visit one time but the service is atrocious. The music is decent. The host told me it's $100 total when I first arrived Then the tab came out to $100 per person. I also waited 20 minutes plus for my drink. So make sure you're getting up to check on your drinks every 10 minutes lol. Their online reservation has two different prices also. One says $100 per person and the other says $75. So which one is it and why do you have two different rates? What an incompetent management team.

Great drinks, amazing food, and a view that makes you forget your problems. Park at Circa Hotel for just $20 -- totally worth it for the bartenders alone (they're friendly and hot). The music? Fire. 10/10

Golden Hour is located in the Moxi Hotel on level 8 in Downtown LA. The Moxi hotel has a ton of photo opps on the way up to golden hour which is very cool. Once you get to the rooftop it is really beautiful. The chandelier carousel is classy and fun. When its actual golden hour and the sun is setting the views of downtown are breathtaking. Cost of cocktails is $22 and they charge an 18% gratuity on top of it. So you are looking at almost $30 bucks for a cocktail which is steep. However, the cocktails were pretty great. I was a huge fan of night fever and lava colada. Heads up if you have a reservation it is required to spend $100 per person minimum which is wild. Its a bummer as this is the only seating available on the rooftop. So that also means everyone is standing and crowding the bar area which can make it difficult to order drinks on a busy night. Overall, a cute place to visit in the summer time.

The type of bar you choose is important. But sometimes, the Bar Chooses You! Bar Magnolia quietly enters the chat. It was October 11th, 2025 and my wife & I just checked into Hotel Figueroa in DTLA. (EPIC REVIEW Coming Soon!!!) While we were waiting for our room to be ready, we decided to check out the Hotel Bar Lounge... First thought, Color me Impressed! High ceilings, Natural lighting, classy decor, comfy couches... Yeah, take your time with that room, we'll wait! So we plopped down onto their sofa, waited for a cocktail menu, and let the "we left the kids at home with Grandma; let's enjoy being kid-free for the night begin". $18.00 cocktails....Lets Goooo!! Looking back at the Photos, I can't exactly recall what we ordered... Was it a whiskey sour? Was it a paper plane?? Honestly, Who cares! They tasted great. I was sitting across from a beautiful woman. And we were responsibly adulting. What more could a guy ask for?? I'm glad you asked! After a long car ride in, sipping on water, then the first few sips of my cocktail, I suddenly had to go... Luckily, the restrooms are located just adjacent to the bar area and DAMN are they clean!! Hey, if a bar restroom is well taken care of, you know the place has Class.... And Bar Magnolia has the Class to Match! Of course, there is bar stool seating at the bar... (I usually prefer sitting at the bar as there's always some great stories to be heard and when it time to order another round, you can literally just cut out the... Middle Man (Aka waiting for your server to come check back in) In addition to the bar top stools, there are also low top tables, and a few couch-chairs with a low top table for more intimate conversations. Besides those $18 craft cocktails, a short, well Curated list of bubbles, vino and draft beers are all up for grabs. Unfortunately, we had stopped to eat before we arrived (bad move on our part), but next time, and THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME, we will definitely partake in their food menu (cause damn, did it look GOOD!) So whether you are a guest of Hotel Figueroa, you are leaving the Crypto Arena after a concert and want to paint the town red, or you are simply just wanting to sit, relax and enjoy a nice cocktail at a classy, upscale, but not so pretentious Cocktail Lounge... Bar Magnolia is your place! Well, it's almost closing time, they are about to call for Last Call, so order us another round, bottoms up and Cheers to us!!!

I finally was able to check it off, thanks to a hotel offer with a dining credit. Dahlia is the gorgeous petite space behind the larger ground floor restaurant space now called Cabrillo (formerly Caldo Verde). Dahlia opened as a bespoke cocktail lounge, then began to offer tea. Now it's just tea. There are five 2-tops and two 4-top tables. All food and beverage venues at the Proper used to be under the auspices of famed chef Suzanne Goin and her business partner/sommelier Caroline Styne. They are no longer affiliated with the Proper, but many of their dishes/contributions remain. The last named vestige of them is on the tea menu, "Suzanne's Deviled-Egg Sandwich". The tea menu has several options: Classic, with a seasonal mocktail, or with different champagnes. I opted for the Classic experience, because the mocktail had mocha, not my fave. Server Lluvia was clearly a Dahlia veteran; she offered a tea-smelling of all the teas that interested me as well as crowd favourites. I ultimately chose one of these faves, Mad Hatter's Tea Party, which had passionfruit and vanilla. I declined milk/cream, but did get lemon. There were rock sugar sticks on the table. It seems the selection of tea sandwiches and sweet treats changes every so often, although the vanilla bean scone, dried currant scone, Devonshire cream and apricot orange jam seem like constants. The sandwich selection at my visit were: cucumber, crab/creme fraiche, beet hummus on pita, smoked salmon and Suzanne's deviled egg. All were delish, the beet, crab and deviled egg especially. The sweet treats were: orange fig butter cookie, spiced apple brown butter crumble, cranberry frangipane hand pie, chocolate mocha macaron, pumpkin madeleine, plus the 2 scones. All were excellent. There were no leftovers. A bit pricey, but a relaxing and lovely experience. The room was not crowded when I visited, adding to the calmness of my visit.
