Every single item was absolutely phenomenal. The food was seasoned to perfection, and you could truly taste the love that went into every dish. The cornbread deserves its own review! It was soft like a piece of cake, perfectly sweet, and practically melted in my mouth. I took one bite, and it made my toes curl! There was a bit of a wait for our food, but coming from Los Angeles, I know that when you're waiting, it's usually because your food is being prepared fresh. It was well worth the wait. Everything tasted authentic, homemade, and like true Southern soul food. The atmosphere was just as wonderful as the food. It was warm, cozy, laid back, and welcoming. The music was pleasant, the décor was beautiful, and the entire restaurant had an inviting energy that made us want to stay. My best friend and I sat at the bar near the entrance so we could take in the whole room, and I absolutely loved the ambiance. The staff was exceptional. Everyone was kind, personable, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They checked on us throughout our meal to make sure we had everything we needed, and the customer service was truly top-tier. I especially want to recognize the young lady who was back there preparing the food. Hats off to the cook--chef's kiss! This was easily one of the best soul food meals I've had in my lifetime.
