I have been there twice recently and the food and service were great! Stew chicken with rice and peas, Ackee and saltfish. So good. I love golden krust. You cant go wrong. Update: You better show up at as soon as they open the door if you want breakfast. They make like one tray of ackee and saltfish and it sells out instantly. It didn't used to be like this but I think they may have a new owner or something. After showing up several times within an hour of them opening and them being sold out of breakfast so quickly we gave up on this location. I changed the rating from 4 stars to 3 stars just for this issue. If you only go for lunch you will have no issues. I enjoy the food but on more than 6 occasions that I've been there, they have been out of the curried chicken and I had to pick another option such as curried goat or brown stewed chicken. Staff is not so friendly. Service is slow but that is the norm for Jamaican restaurants. Food is pretty decent but how can a bakery constantly run out of its #1 baked good? Almost every time I go there they are out of spicy beef patty. This is unacceptable. read more

The food is always great but they have no sense of urgency when it's a small crowd, 10 mins turn to 30-45 ! Do not come here after 7 cause they run out of food and don't want to put anymore out even tho they have more than enough time and customers that will eat the food. So if your Hungry don't come here after 7:30 cause they won't have half the menu. read more

It was not my fave Caribbean food. I use to love the GK in Prince George County Maryland. I've seen a few down here. First they didn't have mac & cheese. So I went to Golden Kristi yesterday for some jerk wings. They were the bomb.com!!! Spicy and flavorful throughout!! I haven't been there in a long time so this was a treat! Little on the high side - 5 wing pieces for $4.77, but I would go back!!! Unfortunately, this location will be closing in August. I have visited a few Golden Krust (GK) restaurants: Douglasville, Stonecrest and now this one in Snellville. My prior experiences have been extremely delicious and positive. I have had some of the best curried chicken - and until now, it was made perfectly. I have always been unable to to stop eating my large meal - until it is all gone. This place was a true disappointment - it is NOT a Golden Krust restaurant. It is an independent imposter. The vibe upon entry was negative. The set up is different upon entry. You are to choose your food from the register, pay, get a ticket with a number, you sit down and wait for the person to fix your plate - this is not done at the other two restaurants. Their curried chicken had little curry flavor and a water based gravy. There were a few pieces of meat in a LARGE meal.You don't get flavor or gravy on the red rice with kidney beans. There is 2.5x more dry rice than meet or vegetables.The meal is put into a black plastic plate with a clear top - this is not used at the other two locations. The food: i couldn't finish my meal - I threw it in the trash and felt as if I had been cheated. I needed to write this review to say - go to a different GK - don't let this place be your first time trying GK. My husband got the braised oz tails and I got curry chicken. It was absolutely delicious! The curry packed a punch and wasn't at all bland and the portions were generous. The rice + peas were a little dry but nothing the copious curry and oz tail gravy couldn't cover. We also got beef patties which were delicious. My husband and I came here and left disappointed due to the price and they did not have no jerk chicken, curry chicken, nor large beef patties left. I thought that was strange not to have any jerk chicken left when it was only a little after 5pm. the prices in my opinion was ridiculously high. I usually pay $8 for a small and $11 for a large. However, I ended up getting the oxtails which was $12.99 for small and 15.99 for large. Of course I got the small that was full of rice but only a few pieces of meat and my husband ended up getting a chicken patty meal. Good place to eat something quick. I have been here many times and when there were on scenic hwy. But my recent visit with staff was terrible. A young lady was trying to take my order thru the glass placed up because of Covid. I get that but I was trying my best to talk thru it when she gets a attitude because she can't hear me. I explained to her that there were people behind me talking and I was talking loud as I could. She rolls her eyes at me and ask the manager to take my order. I did not know until later that was the manager. I was giving the order to the manage same way and for some reason the manager could hear me clearly. After finishing the young girl was putting my food in the container but throwing it in. I felt I was doing her a service and I was the staff instead of the customer. I finished she rang me up but I asked what was her name. She gave it and I processed to ask for the manager not knowing the manager was the one who took my order at the beginning when the young girl was acting like she couldn't hear me. I explained the problem to the manager. This place mostly is friendly and never had a problem with their staff. But they should be mindful how they treat customers because they write a review like am or go else where. This is not good time with Covid to mistreat customers. read more

The food is good, but what makes it bad is the counter help. The girls are so unfriendly, they don't seem happy to be there. Even if your not happy to be there at least display some customer service. Customer Service goes a long way. Also when it's super busy the staff is in chaos, one person does not know what the other person is doing. Please get some structure and order before you start to lose customers, most of all do something to make your staff happier, because first impressions are last impressions. read more

I love Caribbean food and I have never had a meal I didn't like at a Golden Krust location, until today. I mean not one single thing on my small Jerk Chicken platter tasted good. I never ever do reviews and rather than come on here, give a bad review and them not know it, I called them to let them know how awful it was. The chicken was sweet yet flavorless, the rice and peas tasted like it came out of a box, and the veggies tasted like water. I am all for supporting black businesses and I am not one of those hard to please picky eaters I ate as much as I could, but this was the worst and I spent nearly $10. These folks are usually good but 1 night I walked in and did not know they were about to close. I ordered jerk chicken wings because they were all out of the regular jerk chicken. At first they said I had to wait, then they filled my order from their usual serving steam table. I got home and the wings were hard and cold. I called and complained and they said the owner would call me back instead of just crediting me for my next order. Owner called back the next day and denied my claim because they came out of the steam table which means it could not be old and cold. I told him not to worry about it cause I did not want to argue about something that was just going to be denied. Owner was very happy that he did have to issue a credit and was even happier to get off the phone. The food sucks tried it once had way better Jamaican food. I usually go there for the patties. But the never have the patty that I want 2 hours before closing and no patty come on.
