I've been to Jamaican Flavors quite a few times, starting in the early days when Terry was personally behind the counter. They have a Yelp offer for 20% off that Terry apparently didn't know was a thing. Years later, the offer is still advertised. I only request it every other trip since I do feel mildly bad asking, but it's kind of their own fault for still having it up at this point. I've ordered the jerk chicken, stew chicken, goat curry, and ox tail. Everything except for ox tail was superb. I didn't quite want to burn the place down like that one disgruntled diner, but I was certainly underwhelmed by the ox tail. Honest to goodness, it's a good restaurant that deserves a lot more praise than it's been given. I keep forgetting about their very reasonably priced lunch specials. If it's really still $5, then it's a steal. Even at $6-7, it'd be a reasonable price for very good Jamaican flavors. read more

I'm so disappointed! I drove 30 minutes to get some rasta pasta only to be extremely underwhelmed. It was super dry, lacked veggies, lacked flavor, and just was ugh! I should have listened to the reviews. If 50 people are saying that the food is dry & bland then why would you not believe them? (Questions I ask myself smh lol). This is an amazing place! Compared to iones... the lady who was at the front cashier was so nice to me it truly warmed my spirit and she was so helpful!!! The oxtail meal was so delicious!!!! Ordered (2) curry chicken with peas and rice and (1) curry chicken roti and extra plantains. This was the dries tasteless food I ever received from a Jamaican restaurant. Restaurant was clean. Good customer service. Decent prices on main dishes but there patties are 2.50 each ( expensive, go to Golden crust). Only thing missing is the flavor. JamaicanFlavors (JF) is a great spot! I wanted Curry Goat for a Christmas party and this restaurant was reasonably priced for a 1/2 pan and even a full-pan compared to other restaurants in Gwinnett and Dekalb counties. I called to get a quote for a 1/2 pan of Curry Goat, and was asked to give my name and phone number to be contacted shortly. Well, I was pleasantly surprised to get a return phone call in 10 minutes from Ms. Terry, the owner/manager. After getting a quote, I requested to come into the restaurant for a taste-test. Terry was professional and very easy to work with. After tasting the sample, I knew JF was the place for me, and ordered and paid in full for one 1/2 pan of Curry Goat. Also, 24 hrs before the party, I needed another 1/2 pan and Terry accommodated my request without hesitation. Both pans of goat meat were tender, flavorful, and the gravy was thick, rich, and the meat was not swimming in oil. Here is a picture of the 2 pans of Curry Goat. My guests thoroughly enjoyed the meal and when asked where I got the Curry Goat from, I told them from JF to help promote their business. Stopped by and was craving jerk pork. I was disappointed. I am Jamaican myself and I know how pork should be cooked. I got the pork and it was tough. It couldn't have been fresh. So I told the owner and she was very sweet. They "remade" it but I know for sure they put water in it to soften it up. I have jerk pork a lot I know when it's fresh and when it's been sitting out. It was my first time coming here but I won't be coming back. The customer service was great they are very nice. But I won't come back it turned me off. Ordered a Large Braised Oxtails meal that stated it comes with rice and peas, cabbage and fried plantain. Received my order that only contained about 5 small oxtails with rice and peas for $20. Called the restaurant and was told you have to choose cabbage and plantain although it is advertised to come with those sides by default because some people don't want those sides‍. Very disappointed with this first time order and have never heard that you have to specifically select what is already advertised with the meal just because some people don't want that. I could see if I wanted to substitute one of the sides for something other than advertised but at least adjust the price if you don't choose the sides or make the meal as advertised.
