Appetizers Trio Tartare - awesome! It had tuna, salmon, and yellowtail tartare and each had its own distinct taste. Can't really say which one was better as they were all good but different. Sesame Tuna - perfect! Tuna was tender and flavorful, melting in the mouth. Duck Salad - this one could be better as the duck was dry and scarce. Arugula Goat Cheese Salad - delicious! We were debating whether to order this salad as we make it at home, but we didn't regret. It had a perfect combo of ingredients + some sauce or smth making it a harmony. Kutaby with Herbs - fresh, warm, flavorful. Belyash with Meat - this eastern russia deep fried meat patty was about 1.5x of the standard size. It had perfectly fried dough (not burned) and plenty of juicy medium cooked meat inside. I tired belyashi in restaurants in russia and made at home, but this one surpassed them all. Just this single belyash already makes it worth coming back to Chateau de Capitane :) Soups Uha with Salmon - it was good, fresh, and clear. Plenty of salmon. It was tasty but somewhat standard. The taste could be made more colorful with some extra spices and maybe lemon. Dushpora - fresh and tasty, with cute mini-dumplings. We all tried and liked it. Solaynka - this one was unfortunately a miss. Tasteless and over salted. Mains Duck with Dried Fruits - simply amazing! If you like duck - this a must have! The portion was very generous and had la parts of duck - legs, wings, and breast. It was super juicy and tender, cooked to perfection. The dry fruits were of a good variety and matched the duck. Chilean Sea Bass with Creamy Polenta - soft, flakey, delicious! It wasn't not too fatty as a sea bass could be. Polenta was a great match as well as a mushroom sauce served on the side. Grilled Branzino - it was served nicely peeled off the bones and had great flavor and texture, yet was not "fishy". Stuffed Jumbo Shrimps - these were very good according to the people who ate them.

There was no salt or pepper on the table which is fine given we were seated at a smaller table. We ordered our food and waited for it to come out. As we waited, someone next to us dropped a heavy glass cup. This was by far the most delayed response to broken glass I have experienced in a restaurant. The glass shattered very loudly and not one of the at least 4 servers working responded. After about a minute of staring down the glass and eyeing wait staff, we stopped one server and informed them of the glass. Again, it was not our glass but glass from another table. As there was so much glass on the floor, the guests at the table could not safetly get up. Even when they did come with a broom to sweep it up, there was still large shards of glass left behind as the staff did not manage to clear it all up. One server collected our dishes when finished with our main hot food of the night but they didn't realize we were waiting on our dessert. It was after about 5 or so minutes of having paid the check before the meal ended that we were still waiting on dessert. I'd like to say the food was good enough to come back but I really felt the experience was below what I'd expect from a seasoned restaurant team. It is clear they need to better attend to guests and take time to structure the space better to avoid overwhelming the staff. Not everyone we met that did work there was overwhelmed in that hour instance but I could tell they were frazzled. I was really unhappy about the plate situation at the start and felt that was something the kitchen staff had to take care of first but the waiters should have noticed that as they set the table and they hadn't. I don't think I'd return to the restaurant but may in the cooler months if friends would ask to. I recommend other neighborhood spots rather than risk disappointment here for a special night out.

At first, we were told there were no available tables, but the wonderful ladies at the front desk kindly spoke with the manager and found a table for two that had been reserved by guests delayed in heavy traffic for two hours. We were truly happy and deeply grateful for their kindness and willingness to help. It was my first time visiting this large and beautiful restaurant with several dining halls and a lovely summer terrace. The design is absolutely stunning. The staff is highly professional, polite, and always happy to recommend dishes when guests need help choosing. Every dish we ordered was prepared flawlessly -- incredibly delicious and artistically presented with great taste and attention to detail. The pistachio and meringue dessert was simply breathtaking, decorated with a delicate caramel lace that beautifully showcased the pastry chef's craftsmanship. I would like to thank the entire welcoming and well-coordinated team and express special gratitude to the restaurant owner and the chef for creating this wonderful island of fine dining in Brighton. Now, about the food - my favorite Uzbek soup, Lagman, didn't taste even close to what I know it should be. Rice Pilaf was too dry and so was their brand-salad "Anor" and even French fries we had to order/pay $10 extra were not cut uniformly. So, out of 9 entries, the only two edible were lamb and beef skirt Shish Kabobs. Well, deep fried eggplants were OK too, that is if you like greasy food... The $146 bill included tax, 3% credit card surcharge and 12% tip, so even if the service is lousy you have to pay for it - keep that in mind.
