By far the worst mani pedi experience I've had. They had me soaking in a cold tub right off the bat, red flag. When I asked if we could switch it to hot, it was still cold. I didn't want to soak my feet in cold water and it wasn't enjoyable so I sat waiting for her to begin with my feet out of the water since that was warmer. Pedicure turned out fine but I had to ask for top coat... twice. My shellac manicure was so sloppy- she wiped the paint of with the inside of her arm and didn't reapply more paint when I asked. The paint job itself was quite messy. She barely did 2 coats of color before the top coat which was also sloppy. My nails were half dull and half shiny. I ran an errand afterwards and the polish nicked off, my nail didn't break. When I asked to redo it a few hours later, she filed it down and that was it. The owner of the shop was the person who did my nails, clearly she doesn't have high standards for her business. Overall, a poor experience both times I went. I think everyone has a bad day and it's worth a second shot (which is why I went back) but it turns out their work consistently reflects a bad day everyday. read more

Don't waste your time. This place is not overly clean, the water in my pedicure bath was ice cold, they didn't even remove all of my polish from hands or toes. She didn't spend any time trimming/removing cuticles, and barely touched me with a nail file. I got a paraffin dip, they used the same dip for my feet and my hands (seriously) and they didn't even get all the wax off. I was picking wax flakes off of myself for 15 minutes after because all she did was pull the wax off rather than using a warm cloth to ensure it was all gone. But the worst: the girls are intentionally hard to understand, and made it a point to upsell things. I've heard thick accents/had many a nail technician that spoke something other than English as a first language, but I have never, ever, had such a hard time understanding what was being asked (sold) to me. I ended up with Shellac (poorly done) and extra charges for "massage" (which was actually painful on my feet, and also included my face?). All told this little mistake cost me $108 BEFORE a tip. I did leave $20, but only because I'm awful and can't bring myself to leave without tipping. But the entire time it was an upsell scam, and was in no way relaxing or even pleasant. I will never, ever, go back. Sonny and Marie's down by Ace Hardware is still the best place in Magnolia! read more

This is my totally go to place in my neighborhood. They are a bit too busy sometimes, however if you make an appointment you will be set. They are very friendly and do a great job! After leaving a place that drew blood when they cut my nail too short I'm very picky about my spots. Prices are very reasonable and hours are convenient. read more

Super happy I found this place. It's called golden nails or something like that now with new management but same location and phone number. They did a great job on my nails. Got a french pedicure and a manicure. The massage chair was great, clean and had good settings. They had a lot of colors to select from too. The best part was the exfoliating scrub. She went to my knee with it and same for the massage. Both on my legs, feet, arms and hand :) good massage and a long one too!!!! They let me dry m nails in the masses chair and it was a relaxing trip and I left with my nails looking good. They helped me put on my flip-flops and there was plenty of street parking. They're all very sweet women working here. I just wasn't very pleased with my full set. My nails were crooked and at the end there were large amounts of acrylic stuck to my fingers. I wouldn't suggest going to Golden Nails for a full set but I will say they do a BEAUTIFUL job with Shellac. read more

My friend and I went here today and it was an awful experience. Her experience: we got the dipping powder and they have no swatches of what any of the colors look like. She said she wanted a dark gray and was told to open the powders and look at them. When she asked the lady if one would turn out as dark gray she replied, "I don't know". How can you expect customers to guess what they will get (she ended up hating the color). The lady also glued herself to my friends finger and spend a few minutes trying to get unattached. She also broke one of her nails by filing it so hard and never even did her cuticles (a basic part of a manicure). Also, her polish was super uneven in the end. Finally she was charged for extra massage after getting an extended "back rub" between two different people without asking for it. This also happened to me! I can't believe they can give you a longer massage without asking and demand more money. Beware! My experience: again no idea what color I was getting for the dipping powder. It ended up being just clear basically. I got a pedicure while waiting to do the dipping powder because they only have one person who knows how to do it. The lady gave me an unusually long massage but I assumed it was because my shellac wasn't ready to come off yet and I had to wait. Not! They charged me an extra $15 again without ever asking for a massage. Secondly, she scraped off my old shellac with her own nail! There is no chance that is up to the health code. I was so thrown off i didn't say anything like I should have but how mortifying. I didn't get my cuticles done on my toes or nails. Also, they finished the dipping powder with a shellac top coat which i have never seen in all of the times I've done dipping powder. I asked to keep the length on my nails and they filed them much shorter. I honestly said to my friend as we left, "so want to get our nails done again tomorrow?" My mani and pedi with "extra" unsolicited massage came to $95. What a waste of money and time. I wanted to love this place as it's down the street from my house and super convenient but honestly I will never step foot in here again. Beyond terrible! read more

It makes me so sad to write this, but Golden Nails has become totally, completely disgusting. If I could give zero stars, I would. I've been going here off and on for more than a decade, and this place has gone so downhill. I went in for a mani/pedi last week, and there were at least 4 women sitting around eating chips, playing on their phones, etc, and the floors were filthy (wet, muddy, candy wrappers that weren't picked up) it smelled terrible, like food was being cooked in the back, and it just seemed like they didn't care at all about the guest experience. They also did a really sub-par job on my nails, and the woman doing my mani was being completely rude to the poor girl who was doing my pedi - it's like they have an odd pecking order there, and it's very uncomfortable to see how the "experienced" staff (who were newbies themselves not so long ago!) treat the younger gals. They're definitely cheaper than other nail salons, but it's not worth the poor experience and the filthy salon. I shudder to think about their sanitation procedures, considering the first impression they give. read more

Woo hooo! The best nail salon I've found in Seattle is a hop skip and a jump from home which means I am more likely to just casually do it. They are great. conscientious, clean and thorough. I'd been having trouble with the nail on my big toe for years, went to podiatrist who removed a sliver only to tell me they found no fungus... had to wait like 9 months for it to finally grow back and it grew back painful, but Golden nails fixed it, it was ingrowing, and she got in there, dug it out, hurt like a bi-atch but lordy when she was done, voila, no more pain. More over she told me how to care for it so it wouldn't ingrow again. hallelujah. Seriously, when the nail salon can do what a podiatrist can't either the nail salon is extraordinary or the podiatrist sucked (which may also be true). Nonetheless, I am in love with this place, the massages they give with the mani pedis - did I mention this? are rad rad rad. I will be giving my business for years to come! read more

I came here to just get a manicure. I was seated fairly quickly which was nice, considering I didn't have an appointment. I sat at my chair and was hit with a wave of something smelling like it had died. I am not quite sure what it was, but it was very unpleasant. So for starting the manicure, she didn't grab a fresh towel to put down, she turned the one over she had used for the gentlemen before me, and you could see clear marks of use (nail polish on it, skin embedded in it, and other stains) so that was unpleasant. She carried on the the manicure, and then she started to massage me. It was an uncomfortable massage. I had jammed my thumb pretty bad the past week and when she massaged that hand, it felt like she re-jammed it. But after the massage, she was about to do the color. And she made me pay before doing the color which I thought was odd, and she sat there staring intently as I wrote the tip, which was just extremely awkward. After that she did the color, and manicure itself was fine, but she only went over some nails twice, and it didn't turn out as bright as I would have liked (I picked a bright orange). And lastly, the facility was just not clean whatsoever. So, I don't think I will be visiting Golden Nails again. read more

so the gal that did my nails was nice. however i got my nails done on SUNDAY and i was able to pop them off today! anyone and everyone who has acrylics knows this should not happen. so guess who is spending more $$ to get these redone. I would not recommend this place at all anymore - the first time i went i got a pedicure and it was just not my cup of tea, the place is kind of dirty and no I am not for it. I thought i would give them a second chance but after today episode i would not recommend getting acrylics done here. read more
