I honestly wouldn't have come here if Saltgrass Steak House wasn't inside. After we finished eating, we played a little at one of the tables. The dealer (an Asian lady) had a really negative vibe like she didn't want to be there and hated her job so we ended up leaving the table and moving on. You just felt it. Wow..I'm glad I didn't book a room here. Based on the reviews, it sounds like a nightmare. The rooms definitely seem like they need updating. I stayed at the hotel Wednesday to Friday. Checking was fine. The room was clean, the internet was ok but that's where it stopped. The room was warm and I checked the thermostat and it was almost at 50 degrees. I cracked it to 50 and put it on high. I started to feel a little cold air but it took several hours to completely cool down. Thank goodness it was March and not August. I could let that go. I received a text message with a link to the Golden Nugget webpage that offered late checkout at 1pm or 2pm or later. Since this was a working vacation I chose the 2pm checkout which was an additional $40. The webpage takes you to a spot to put in your name and room number. I put those in and hit submit. The page said your request has been submitted and to go to the front desk to get new keys. When I went the morning of my departure, the front desk clerk said they had no request from me for a late checkout and they weren't available. I asked to speak to the manager who said the same thing. He apologized for the situation and appreciated my feedback. What a $hitshow. read more

On May 17, 2026 my BF and I checked into our room to find the toilet in our bedroom had not been cleaned and there were stains on and in it, when we told Harris (the guy working the desk) we were given a hand towel and offered some wipes so that we could clean it ourselve!!!After refusing to except that there was nothing he could d, I was told no other room was availabl,I was able to get Harris to contact the casino porter and have them clean it. I had to make it clear that this was a bio hazard and asking a customer to clean it is unacceptabl!! the next morning while checking out we explained our experience to the supervisor and she removed the charge, However this experience has left us both feeling very disappointed we expected much more from the Golden Nugget. read more

This is an absolutely beautiful property! I used to live in Laughlin and it was considered the upper echelon of casinos on Casino Drive. I have only been here once as a resident and decided to come back again in January 2026 to take my Mom to Bubba Gump for her birthday. The place is very beautiful! Well lit and decorated, and very welcoming. It is not very big, but the size makes it feel very intimate. I cannot wait to come back and try their steakhouse and maybe even stay here. The only reason why I cannot rate it 5 stars is because I haven't really experienced anything here but Bubba Gump, but from what the eye can see, I do not think it would disappoint! Recently stayed at the Golden Nugget. Initially our room was on the first floor in the west wing which had a spectacular view of the sidewalk. We paid extra to move to the East wing where we ended up having a view of the Colorado River. The room was fine. The casino is very smoky. Not sure you can avoid this. I am not a big fan of hanging out with people that smoke inside. They may have had a non smoking area but if they did it was not very big. read more

I mean, it was okay. First timer in Laughlin. Totally understand that this would be not the fanciest place, so the high rating is on the relative scale. We had our dogs, so got a patio room, which was great to walk out our room to a pretty large grass area for the dogs. Nice that it's attached to restaurants and the casino. We went to Claim Jumper. We got the 24 karat cards for $5 of free play. Played video poker and got free drinks. I won $28 on the bull slot, yay! The worst parts, I moved rooms because the first room had a big pile of dirt, no big deal, really. We got to the second room with the dog. The outdoor was muddy cause it rained and I went to grab a towel to clean the dogs paws and noticed we didn't have towels or trashcan liners and there was a pair of dirty rubber gloves on the counter. The front desk was super nice about it though. The bell hop was great! Super helpful with all our stuff The only real bad thing was the air conditioner was so loud it was hard to sleep until I put in ear plugs... Casino at the Golden Nugget is okay. When we went during weekday, 3 Card Poker didn't open until 4 pm, which was a bit of a bummer. Good to know for next time. The ceilings are also a bit low, and the setting is quite dim. Service was great, and the slot machines worked well. I did like the entrance area though. Pros: Room was cheap Free Valet Parking Pool Cons: Property is under renovation and this wasn't mentioned by anyone till we arrived. No in room safes Finding the WiFi password was a challenge ( it's on the TV in the upper right, but of course you have to turn on the TV) They say you can order a cooked breakfast to be delivered to your room for a few, but there's a catch. Claim Jumper is the only onsite restaurant that offers breakfast. IF they have staff available they'll deliver breakfast to your room. If that's the case why advertise you can order breakfast? I can't believe in a hotel that has a casino I'd have to go to the front desk to put things in an old fashioned lock box. So, someone one could target me for a robbery or worse later. Plus, they have the nerve to have billboards along the freeway saying to stay in their renovated rooms. Gambling options were okay, but really nothing was what I expected from a Golden Nugget property. read more

I don't even have words to describe how disgusting my food was in the CJ restaurant. I was with my friend and her family and i ordered the chicken fried chicken. The chicken wasn't cooked at all. it had no color to it, it was like a raw light pink color inside and a rubbery texture. I was given white gravy with weird grey chunks in it. the only thing i could eat was the mash potatoes which were OKAY. After leaving the golden nugget, i started to throw up the chicken and had horrible stomach aches and was crying all night. Thanks a lot CJ. NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN!! read more

Guess I just expected more from hotel than what we got. I booked a 2 queen garden view room. Beds are definitely not queen, but full. Garden View is a view of shrubs, tree and parking garage. We were only there for one night so no, I didn't complain. Our room definitely was older, but being old doesn't mean it can't look ok. Bathroom light switch cracked all the way through, easy fix if they did it. Housekeeping is really biggest issue. Around the tub, black yuck. Stain of I am not sure what on the pillowcase, entire pillow ended up in corner of room. Then in middle of the night, finger got caught in sheet, had a hole. We come here for Bubba Gump. That being said, while waiting the almost 45 minutes for a table, I decided to get a player's card and play some slots. I got some free play credits, too, for signing up, so that was a plus. However, when it came time to use the credits, none of the machines I played would recognize it. I asked one of the hosts and she got a manager and he tried. He couldn't get it to work either. His repsosne, "hmm, I guess it's not working right now. Try again later..." Uh, no. I didn't even know if I was getting points for the $200 I dumped into the 5 machines I played. The lobby is cool, oversized truck parking is minimal and the machines can't communicate with the players cards. I don't know about the rooms, but that is enough to make it mediocre for me. read more

CHECK IN: i checked in with ease, BUT just to note if you try to get in before 2pm a $33.75 fee applies. No thanks! ROOM: Your room with be in one of 2 four story wings East or West. Protip- the pool was in the East wing. I was in the West wing, my room overlooked some barren courtyard where grass once was (and some still remains) but looked pretty trampled. Accommodation itself was what you would expect. It was basic and fits your needs for a Laughlin visit. Everything looked to be in good repair and clean. The Air conditioning unit was questionable in its operation, but the windows here do open a little if you need cool air. For the price this place served its purpose. PROPERTY: Yeah so they may not be as flashy as their Vegas counterpart, but this Golden Nugget location doesn't need all the glitz and glamour to shine. Free parking, a decent room and food options are all we need in Laughlin. And a bar named "the Sand Bar" all will definitely make you feel like you are on vacation. read more

I paid premium price for a "new" room with a "river" view. What I got was a room with view of a building and with furniture that was so worn out there was sawdust on the floor. The room had a very heavy disinfectant smell. And to top it all off, when I checked out the next morning, their computer system was down & I still haven't received an email with my receipt. Not off to a good start. Arrived over 2 hours ago and we are changing rooms. No heat. The room is 58 degrees! Great if it was summer but we are almost in winter! They had technician come up but it's going to be another hour to fix the heat, provided it is indeed the coils. Not to mention the light fixture. We are tired and hungry and this is not a great start to our little adventure. Waiting in line AGAIN to get a new room. Ugh. Will update! It looks outdated. I sat down at a machine and was playing max. 3.00, I believe, and I hit the free play bonus when I went to get it. The machine froze. I called an attendant, and they couldn't do anything. After they fixed the machine, the bonus was voided. That was disappointing. The casino floor is hot. It felt like the A/C didn't work. So I walk into the Golden Nugget, and i've been coming to Laughlin for maybe a year or so. I never stayed here, but i've come here for uh, dinners and lunches. Let me tell you when you walk in the front door you are greeted by beautiful waterfalls. Beautiful water trickling down in a very tropical setting. You have numerous restaurants to pick from, You have claim jumper, you have bubba gump shrimp, you have a great steakhouse, you have a little coffee shop called bread and bun. But I have to say this by far is the best hotel I have ever been in. I will be booking my next stay here at the golden nugget. The atmosphere is so old school, and it brings back such memories of when the casinos were, uh, a very quaint, they have very different machines, poker machines, keno you could play keno and sit there all day long, and you can you know, watch the numbers come up at the bar, or you can go over, to keno and gamble over there and bet on horse races, tennis matches, you can bet ahead on football games, nfl games. Then you have the bar and the bar that i'm speaking of is in the back of the casino and you can sit at the bar and you can play poker keno blackjack and you have the background of the river the colorado river so you're sitting at the bar and you're looking at the colorado river it's obviously a beautiful. The pool is super cute, it's tiny, but it's super cute and quaint. The gift shops.They're fun a lot of cute things in there. The whole place reminds me of old vegas. We are huge fans of the Golden Nugget Las Vegas. Stay there every time we go to Vegas, at least twice a year. But the one in Laughlin, skip, warning, do not stay here. It's super small and run down. Rooms are clean but what is not communicated widely is all rooms are adjoining. If you don't want to hear your neighbors talking loudly, children screaming and their TV all night, well you're in the wrong hotel. We called the front desk and were offered no options or solutions. I simply asked for more towels that I could shove in between the door and under it and they couldn't even bother to accommodate that. Not to mention the food options in the hotel are severely limited. Forget about a late night meal. Everything closes early even on a Saturday night. The Claim Jumper restaurant was terrible. Food was so salty we couldn't eat it and the martini... I took one sip and couldn't do another. It was disgusting. We are so loyal to this chain but I absolutely will not be back here. read more

The price was reasonable for what you would find along the river walk. Where do I begin. Sean checked us in and I knew we had made a mistake staying here right away. He acted like it was a chore and zero personality. We then went to our room and the minute we walked in it smelled like we were in a bar. The alcohol smell was so bad I had to get air freshener from housekeeping. The bottom of the dresser drawer was broken out and the coffeemaker didn't make a drop of coffee. The pool is about the size of a small backyard pool and I guess 3 1/2 feet deep. I understand Laughlin is an older city but have stayed at beautiful properties before. The restaurants were great but won't stay here again. Well....... It's been several years since we have been to Laughlin. Fair to say there is a reason why. We remembered the Golden Nugget as the upper scale spot in Laughlin.... Not so much any more.... The Salt Grass restaurant was the highlight of our visit and Jimmy (our server) was the best! Highly recommend the restaurant and can't say enough about Jimmy's attentiveness. Thank you Jimmy!! Our room was very dated, somewhat clean, bathroom floors a little sticky. Bring your slippers. Day time dealers (Julie and Joseph) were awesome and fun. Late night dealers were grumpy and just wanting to get rid of players. Tables closed a little after 1:15am on a Friday.....?? Definitely disappointing. I thought Laughlin was an all night town. I would rather drive a little further and go to Vegas. I won't be back to the Golden Nugget Laughlin or Laughlin for that matter. Don't waste your time or money. Not worth the visit. read more

A small mix-up turned into a pleasant surprise when we got to meet Jenny, the food and beverage manager, and Forest, the Director. They were so helpful, kind, and professional--we really felt taken care of. The property itself is clean and packed with awesome dining options. So far, we're torn between Claim Jumper and Salt Grass as our favorites--both delicious! Special thanks to Memo, who is hands down a FANTASTIC server. Shoutout to Michael, the manager, who clearly runs a tight and friendly ship. Our drinks showed up lightning fast--less than two minutes after ordering! The pool was a total vibe--great for mingling with other guests over tasty drinks. The bartenders were not only talented mixologists but kept the atmosphere upbeat and welcoming. Plus, lounging poolside with a view of the Colorado River and watching jet skis zip by? Unbeatable. Our room was spacious and comfy, and the casino floor was fun every time we wandered through. All around, the Golden Nugget hits the sweet spot of fun, affordability, and hospitality. This place is worn out. This is the condition of the room. I took no pictures. The mattress was so worn that there was a fold on the center of the bed. The first 12 inches off the side was completely unusable. The curtains were a foot longer than the window, and the excess just laying on the floor. The carpet was filthy. The bathroom had a sewage backup into our sink on the last night. Raw sewage filled the sink bowl and left its mark. The toilet wobbled horribly as the wax ring was non existent and nuts were loose. The air conditioner worked, but the evaporator fan blade was rubbing against the housing and the whole mess was had several different noises. The room is so worn, I could write a paragraph about how far gone and maintenence has put zero effort in. If you want a horse book, this is the absolute worst one I've ever seen. No sound and the screens are so small you have to stand to see them. The teller wouldn't take my bet because he was counting out and said the other fella went to the bathroom. I stood by as several races went off. The absent employee was also in charge of their " live" keno, so anyone who actually wanted to play was SOL. There were several nice folks, like the check in staff, but overall, very understaffed and most have lost their enthusiasm for their jobs long ago. This place is a worn out dump. The raw sewage in the sink should be enough to make you pass this place that doesn't give a lick about you and your health, no matter how cheap the rooms are. read more

Is this Vegas? NO. I dont hold this to Vegas standards. It is what it is, and it was fine. My only complaint, it facing east, the Sun lit up our room at 6am even with the heavy curtains on the window. They should really fix that, and with blackout shades, my trip would have been perfect. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I made a reservation online through their website. When we got to Laughlin I called to see if our room was available to check into. I was told I did not have a reservation because on the day I booked it they tried to run our credit card and it was declined. I hung up and called our credit card company and said there never any attempt to change our card. I called the "resort" back and told them there was never an attempt on our card and I needed them to find me a room. She transferred me to a supervisor who rudely told me my card was declined and that the only room they had was a non-view pet friendly room. I told her I didn't want that because I'm allergic to animals. She said well that's too bad cuz it was all they had left even though their website said otherwise. I asked why I never received an email stating my card had been declined. She rudely said that I had to have received one. I searched through all my emails, trash and spam folders. No email and if I had received one I would have done something about. She rudely said there is nothing I can do for you. I hung up and made a reservation at Harrahs. They were awesome and even upgraded us to a beautiful presidential suite. Stay far away from the Golden Nugget and read all the reviews because there are many that talk about having bad experiences with reservations and rude front desk. read more
