Golden One is still one of the better Chinese /American wok houses in the lower end of Bucks County. Definitely a step (star) above the run of the mill cuisine offered by the other old time rice kitchens. While I loves me the high end Chinois now found in Philadelphia Chinatown and a few out of town locations, sometimes I yearn for what I grew up on - the more Cantonese versions made in America to adopt to what was available here rather than the traditional fare from the old world. Last night their Pork Egg Foo Young, Egg Roll and Hot & Sour Soup were exactly what my inner doctor ordered. Ah, sweet nostalgia.

My husband and I really enjoyed our meal here. We started with our soups which were very flavorful. The Kung Pao Chicken and the General Tso Chicken were delicious. We had the dumplings for an appetizer and both enjoyed them, as well. The staff were very attentive and helpful. A cute place you can eat in, or you can order to-go, as well. I do believe they deliver, as well. Check them out!

Always been driving past this restaurant and finally decided to give it a try. There's not many good Chinese restaurants in the area and I gotta say, this one is pretty good. I ordered takeout and got chicken and broccoli with white rice and also a side of egg drop soup. They were both really good. That egg drop soup was really delicious. Service was good, ordered and it took about 30 minutes to be ready for pickup. Restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. I would recommend this spot.

Writing this review after having visited multiple times now. Some dishes, like the house special mei fun have been great, while others like the fried rice in the General Tso's combination special, and the frequently too salty wonton soup, have been "meh". Plus, we have discovered a few errors after arriving home with our take away orders. For example, the last time we visited we got these fried cheese - filled things, instead of the egg rolls we actually ordered. Also, in our experience, takeout service came with a bit of a "just take your food and go" vibe at times. . But, I guess with this type of spot incredible service isn't really the main reason for a visit. Will probably stick with the Chinese food joint closer to home.

The inside is nicely laid out and easy on the eyes. Booths, tables in the middle, sushi bar towards the back and private tatami rooms along the one outer wall. I had called ahead and reserved one of their tatami rooms. It was our first time in a room like that and we really enjoyed it! (NOTE: you have to remove your shoes before entering the tatami room so make sure you wear socks if that bothers you!) The service was friendly and timely. Our waitress took the time to go over their menu which had several pages of sushi options alone. They don't have a kids menu, but they were both able to find something they liked. My oldest had the Chicken Teriyaki that came on a skillet with a bed of steamed veggies and white rice on the side. He devoured it and asked for more rice. He allowed me to have a couple of bites of his chicken. The Teriyaki flavors were popping! Little guy shared a steak and shrimp hibachi with my wife. She asked for medium and it came out well. The flavors of the steak and shrimp were awesome, but the corn rice and veggies had a little bit of an off flavor and texture. Both meals came with soup - one miso which tasted just fine, the other a clear soup that had a delicious full onion flavored broth. I had the Volcano roll - $17 - eight - Shrimp tempura, cucumber w special sweet tuna salad outside and the Phoenix Roll - $18 - eight -mixed combo fish & avocado roll, top with salmon yellowtail & special sauce on top. The Volcano roll wasn't super tight, but I enjoyed the crunchy shrimp tempura and sweet sauce. Good fresh ingredients and flavors in both, Phoenix roll had a welcoming kick in the special sauce. Our friend had a Philly Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll and a veggie roll ($7-$8 avg.) which she said were all good. We had a great time in the room and will certainly repeat. I'm not a well traveled sushi eater, but the menu at Tako was much more extensive (more fish varieties and combinations) than my usual Asian fusion spots) at a similar price so I'll be returning to try more options. The one thing I would recommend to their owners is a bathroom spruce up or thorough cleaning. The walls looked like an inexperienced painter took care of them and there were dirt marks all over the door. Having said that, it's great to have a fun dining option close to home! Thanks guys!!!

Literally melts in your mouth. The spicy crab sushi rolls were also really good. Some places tend to mess that up for some reason. And also their ACE roll was also really good. There's other rolls that I do want to try and I'll definitely come back for more salmon sashimi. Ordered takeout and it was ready within 10-15 mins. Restaurant looks very cozy, clean and nicely decorated. I would dine in there if I had the time. I think here and shogun go neck and neck honestly. There's things I like about Tako and I can say the same for shogun. Hard to compare the both but I enjoy both sushi spots.

Sitting right next door to Pho Palace on Bustleton Avenue in the far Northeast in Philadelphia,…read moreYaudim Dim Sum & Noodle is a small modern semi fast food Chinese kitchen that models itself as a quick dim sum (small bowl) house where you order at the cashier from the large laminated menu on the counter the most popular traditional plates, and then sit at a table until the order taker/chef/server brings your food to you on plastic trays. All that would be fine if you don't miss the old ladies with their pushcarts hawking their goodies at your table. I sort of did miss them as they are what I remember most fondly about those enormous meals around a large round table with family and friends that I enjoyed growing up. But, this is certainly not that, and therein lies the difference of having a totally enjoyable experience vs a fast food version without any cultural entertainment value. Without that, the food was just not as tasty and fun. The Xiao Long Bao skin was too thick and chewy, although the pork infused hot soup within was decent. Similarly, the sui mai and shrimp dumplings had better texture outside, but tiny shrimp within. The glutinous rice rolls had a pleasant light soy sauce and right textured wrap, but small shrimp in both size and number. The best we had was the potato croquette (crunchy outside, hot and grated tato within). The room was all blond wood and large traditional Chinese kitchen mural on the wall. Service was efficient. Prices were about right given the recent restaurant inflation. For my three stars I would rather return to the enrapture of the old ladies and their carts.
