Let me start by saying we paid almost $45 which was DEFINITELY NOT worth it. With all the fuzz on how they remodeled and what not they should've just kept it as it was and kept on with ordering from the menu.We went and we're disappointed. There wasn't much to choose from in the buffet. Everything was made in small portions which I understand but again.. should've kept just the menu and saved a lot of money. I tried to get the chicken on a stick and every time since they do small portions there was non left. Actually one lady kept taking most of them. Food was also bland. The food was awful, there was food and silverware all over the floor. My husband got the buffet and the food was not great and the fried rice was tasteless and dry. I had the chicken curry which came with an entire onion and 3 carrots. The curry tasted canned and there were only 6 small pieces of chicken. This legendary restaurant has been serving up Chinese food in Bellville for many years. They have recently renovated the interior and offer buffet service now for $13. The hot and sour soup is incredible. The $11.50 lunch special is the best deal around. I love their general tso's chicken. The sauce is sweet with chile flakes in it. So I moved to bellville a few years ago. Not many places to eat around here. We usually have a blah experience at Golden Pagoda in Bellville, Texas but we had the worse visit and have X it off our very short list last week. First off, the service was horrible. The teen waitress couldnt even muster a greeting. I had to get everything myself, napkins, silverware etc.. Then to top it off they stopped us after 3 BEERS and we had had enough. We left with no problem, tipped very little (I didnt want to tip at all) however we are not those people. So If you want HORRIBLE service (unless they know you of course) and mediocre food, and 3 BEER/alcohol limit dont go there!!!! read more

Been going here for years never disappointed. I recommend lunch time or 3 hrs before closing. Foods I recommend orange chicken wonton soup shrimp fried rice and general tso. Owners are sweet and waiters are nice as well. They make sure your drinks are not running low. read more

We asked to be sat at a different particular table and they accommodated with no issue making us feel truly welcome. The food was excellent and we all could tell it was made fresh! We've been several times. Food is good as well as the service. However, stepping into the restroom is disgusting. Appears the toilets haven't been cleaned or disinfected in months. Golden Pagoda use to be our favorite restaurant. They closed in May and reopened this week in August after a remodel. Ambiance is an improvement. They added a buffet but kept the same menu. Well not everything was the same on the menu. For example no egg fu yung which was on the menu before. Wonton soup is brought to you from the buffet even if you order off the regular menu. It was not the same, the wontons are very doughy and no slivers of bbq pork. The sweet and sour sauce was very runny almost as if corn starch had been omitted. The egg rolls are now different and more similar to a spring roll. The fried rice is different and does not contain the onions and peas it had before but does still contain a few scrambled egg. The fried rice on the buffet was not tasty at all-too much ginger and some other spice that was odd. The chow mein on buffet was very blah. After waiting 3 months for them to reopen, I found myself wishing they had never changed from what I was quite pleased with pre buffet. read more

We ordered three fried appetizers, the sweet and sour sauce was tasteless, crab puffs were stuffed with plain cream cheese. We were extremely lucky to find Golden Pagoda on our way home from an event - showed up at ten til 9 and asked if we could still dine in, they were happy to accommodate us. We like this place, but more when we could dine in. I love their Lemon Chicken. It's like fried chicken nuggets with this wonderful lemon sauce. It is great when they bring it out from the kitchen and the chicken is hot and crispy. It doesn't do too well when you have to drive home before eating, especially if you live 20 miles away. The Kon Pow Shrimp is good, but seems like it's not as spicy as it used to be. I know we will all be glad when the pandemic is over and we can go to our favorite restaurants and sit down and enjoy the food fresh and hot from the kitchen. read more

Called, the lady handed off the phone to a man and he didn't apologize and just kept saying it wasn't them, that their shrimp were fine and they take it very seriously. Ha! This used to be our favorite place to eat in the area. Drove down from Dallas to see relatives in a neighboring town and wanted to stop by. Pulled in and the wife and I got out and saw they actually barricaded the door and set it up like a drive thru at a bank. Really? They had a couple of tables and chairs out in the sidewalk. Every restaurant in the state is having dine in but this place. We have our masks and follow distancing rules but this is just stupid. Never again, I hope they close for good. read more

What a great place for lunch! We live in Houston Monday through Friday but on the weekends we live in the country. One Sunday after country church someone mentioned a new Chinese place that they tried in Belleville. The rest of our friends said no that they been eating at Golden pagoda for years and Everyone liked it. With that rain or not, all of us took off to the Golden pagoda for what was a delightful and reasonably good quality lunch. If you were looking for haute Cantonese, Mandarin, or San Francisco Vancouver, & London quality Chinese food, keep looking but if you just want really good fresh reasonably priced Chinese Golden pagoda is your spot. This review is 45 days old and late because I just didn't remember that I should post the review until I was planning to go back again. Now today, Easter Sunday the group of us are all heading over this afternoon for dinner. if my review changes drastically either up or down I will edit it and post here again.
