My dad and I always hit up this place when I'm in town visiting him in Brenham. It's quaint and not the biggest of places -- but it's always clean, and the decor and lighting are cozy. The staff is usually friendly and attentive as well. The food is always hot, fresh, and reasonably priced -- with a great selection of healthy beef, chicken and seafood options to choose from. Better yet, there doesn't seem to be much MSG or an over-abundance of salt, sauces or grease in most dishes. This is how I typically prefer my Asian cuisine to be. The sushi isn't much to write home about, but that's typical for buffet-style restaurants like these. Very mediocre, barely warm buffet. Most of the chicken dishes taste alike. They don't offer white steamed rice, only fried rice and noodles. The hot and sour soup is mostly spicy hot and very little sour, a one dimensional flavor, and barely warm. The one decent dish was the egg foo yung. Not recommended. read more

They have a good variety of food and everything is delicious. The service is good and it's very clean.

This restaurant is at the corner of Highway 290 and 36. It is tucked into a very large strip center with numerous other businesses. Upon entering you'll notice the place is dimly lit with a very humid atmosphere due to all the steamed offerings. It's also got a note of grunginess throughout the restaurant, which is most noticeable in the bathrooms. Let's just say the ambience here is very lacking, but people don't come here to take in the surroundings, they come here to stuff their face. It's definitely a very popular place with the locals here in Brenham. They have some offerings of sushi, four soups, and free ice cream (from Walmart), but I was surprised that there was no beef and broccoli offering, which is usually a common staple at any Chinese buffet. They also do not serve slices of pizza, but they do have some fried chicken wings. Their potstickers were pretty outstanding, but they're hot and sour soup was not. However, for $12 a person w/o tax or tip, you really can't go wrong. read more

This post is about a month late: The place is well worn, nothing fancy. I would call the food average at best. Make sure to eat here during the lunch run so the food will be fresh. The food here is pretty decent, nothing too special. I was a little skeptical coming here the first time due to the location in a kitschy strip mall, but the establishment itself parallels the food. However, I must say that on my most recent trip to Chinese Buffet, I was greeted with the most humid atmosphere. The whole place was very damp, so much so that I had to tread lightly in fear I would literally slip on the floor. I guess this is due to the fact that the food is just steaming inches away from the tables, but still this was uber unsettling when you first walk in. I went here about 7 PM the dumplings were all stuck together the general Tso's chicken and the beef and broccoli were mushy and old. Obviously the food has been sitting here a while I even tried the french fries and they were cold. I will not return to this place and on top of that the manager could not care less and would not comp my bill... most of which I left on the table. read more

Not the biggest fan of buffets, but needed a place with buffet-restaurant type options so stopped. I was really impressed. Lots of options and good ones too. Personal favorites the surprised me included: garlic flavored vegetable mix, the fried dumplings with dipping sauce, and the fried fish, much to my surprise as I wouldn't have gotten that myself (someone else did and said "you really should try this"). First time visit as the place across the street was closed. Super nice and attentive wait staff. The food was just ok.

Quietly alerted the water that a ROACH was crawling across the food table. He chased it with a dirty rag, dragging the rag over and into the various dishes! He finally caught and squashed the roach on the sneeze cover directly over a dish of food. GROSS! We could not eat or drink any thing and left. They argued that we had to pay even tho we could not eat and had such a gross experience. Threatened to call the law bc we refused to pay. They finally offered to cut our bill in half. Stopped in on our travels back from the Ren Fest. This place is half way on our road trip home. We had a long day and were looking for some good hot food and a nice cold drink. The food buffet was at best so so. It was not well stocked even though there were very few people dining. There were not many meat choices other then fried fish and fried shrimp, which was not what I was hoping for when I walked in. I also did not have the option for sweat tea but that wasnt the worse part, I can sweeten my tea, ok fine, but when I was ready to go and I had a full glass of tea I had not drank I asked for a to go cup. I was told they had no to go cups even though they have Styrofoam cups at the check out counter and all the kids had styofoam cups for their drinks. The drink I requested to take with me was my original drink I ordered with dinner and not a refill. I simply had not drank much during my meal. So I had a full cup of tea that I ordered with dinner sitting in front of me that I could not finish before I was ready to walk out and they refused to let me have a cup so I could take what remained. They would rather I waste my drink instead allow me to take my remaining drink with me for the rest of my drive home and I didnt even ask for a refill..... Makes me wonder if they pour the left over tea left on diners tables right back into the tea pitcher after every diner leaves, otherwise why would it be such a problem? Makes me sick to think about it but they were so rude and insistent that I could not take my drink with me. I walked away with the full glass on the table and they still charged me for it. We love this place, and go there for lunch most Sundays. The best time to go is for lunch on weekends. It is family owned by an amazing couple. Wait staff is friendly and responsive. There are some unusual "Texan" items on the menu. The grilled salmon is excellent and the fried shrimp and spicy shrimp are really good, too. The traditional Chinese dishes and the soups are very good as well. Be sure you're hungry when you check this place out! read more
