Not good! Egg rolls cold, undercooked and nasty, fried shrimp and crawfish were ok. Not bad, not good. The baked potato tasted old and weird. The burger so plain and not good. We wasted most our food, it was that bad. Came to this town for a college tour, barely no options for food but this place def not it. I really wanted to rate this place higher because of the food, but I just couldn't due to the customer service. I say that because entering in on a Sunday after noon when you nearly have no customers, the attentiveness and care to make sure someone's dining experience was top notch didn't happen. My Mom and I entered in and received a brief hello as the hostess was on the phone. We asked if we seat ourselves and were told yes. I naturally thought that once we chose a table that the menus would soon follow, but after about 5 minutes, none were present, so I walked to the front and picked some up myself. Where was the hostess? I'm still on the phone. Now, mind you, it may have been a very important call, and you're trying to multitask at work. Been there! But multitask means doing more than one thing...that did not happen. Additionally, the menus need some updating and cleaning. Very old and dingy looking. The hostess was serving as the waitress as well and finally made her way over to get our drink orders. This time, promptness did occur as we received our waters. I did have a question about the menu stating that the food was cooked in flour..like the fried fish, shrimp, but when I asked the hostess/waitress about it, she said it was breaded in cornmeal. Cornmeal and flour are the same thing, so I was honestly holding my breath that the entree would be something inedible. I would at least however have my salad to hold me over if the entree was not up to par, but wait! That didn't come out after we ordered. It wasn't until the entrees came to the table that I inquired that if the menu was correct that we were supposed to receive a salad. The waitress blinked at me a few times before answering and asked what kind of dressing we'd like. I really feel that we wouldn't have received a salad if we hadn't asked for it. It wasn't that fancy with a few croutons tossed on top, but if you say it's part of the price of the entree, I want it. Although the food came out just as indicated on the menu (20 to 25 minutes), my Mom's order came with the wrong side order. She received sweet potato fries instead, which I concluded was a mix-up from the customers who came in when we ordered. Sure enough, their order came with the wrong side as well. At least we didn't get charged an upcharge for the sweet potato fry swap. That was fair. Although the kitchen didn't have much accuracy on the sides, the fried fish and shrimp were immaculately fried. The size of the shrimp even surprised me for the cost of the entree. They were jumbo shrimp for sure-nice a meaty. The food was fresh and made to order. Even the freezer brand crinkle cut fries were delicious! If I had eaten breakfast that morning, I would have for sure needed a take-home bag, but I was able to make away with the entire meal. Was it a struggle? Yes! Portion size was huge, but an hour drove home with 3 shrimp didnt seem logically, so ate them I did. My Mom enjoyed her meal as well. For swai, the fish is pretty meaty and seasoned correctly. All in all, I would definitely do a pick order here, but duning here was a hit and a miss. read more

I ordered oysters yesterday and I thought I smelled them bad whenever I got them. I bet into one and I immediately told the server these are rotten. I spit it out we open another one, and the oyster itself is pure black I had eaten one had tasted or chewed part of another, and came home with a very mild case of food poisoning. We went for lunch today. We went for the pho. They really need to take pho off the name. They had none. It took way too long to get our spring rolls. They were ok. My husband got combo fried rice and it was ok. That is the only reason this place isn't getting a one. We waiting almost 30 minutes for his rice and my nasty flat noodle combination. The noodles were hammered. I ate a sour carrot and just said huhm that was weird. I ate another bite of overdone noodle and a piece of meat. The meat was rancid and I had to spit it out. The waitress came by and I told her. She took the plate away. We went to pay and it was the full amount. I asked why would I have to pay for a nasty plate of food that I did not eat. This was my go to place for some of the best Pho I've ever had so was disappointed they don't have it anymore. Tried the shrimp spring roll that was huge stuffed with lots of shrimp and veggies. Tried the Spicy Chicken Vermicelli which was excellent. Was there last week, stopped today and will go back again next Sunday when I pass through Hemstead. read more

FANTASTIC!!!!! I was not expecting to find this little gem in Hempstead, TX! But WOW!!!!!! The Mexican style shrimp cocktail was incredible. Spicy and delicious! Only downfall, wasn't served with chips... which it should be. (Went next door to the convenient store and got some lol) the egg rolls were on point. I got the Chicken Pho, absolutely amazing!!!!!! We also had the fried shrimp and fish. Delightful. But what made the show experience was the service from Presley. What a beautiful, bright ray of sunshine. I used to like going here on lunch break, but their services had gotten progressively worse. I gave them one last try today and ended up leaving without eating. My Oder was taken, all fried items fish and shrimp, and 20 minutes later no food. I go ask and was told they would check. 7 minutes later someone from the manager walks out and asked if my order has been taken. I told her is has about 30 minutes before. I get up to walk out by this point and she apologizes and says the order had just been put in. The waitress that took my order then gets an attitude Ana's say that I was not her only customer so it's not her fault. The dining room was completely empty except for me!!
