When the food misses the mark (which is not often but everyone is human) the staff is very receptive to the feedback and does everything they can to make it right. My son said give then 4/5 stars (he's 9, but his opinion holds value) He always orders orange chicken and he thought it was great. It was spicier than what he usually has. He thought their cheese puffs were amazing. I will say they were good but I still prefer crab ragoons. Wish they would add crab to their recipe and they would be perfect. I had the Hunan Chicken lunch special. Their lunch special is smaller than most asian food. Tiny egg roll (so mostly cabbage), cup of soup (literally). But price is decent $8.99. Chicken was good tho, my kid kept stealing some. I dont like the zucchini in there cuz it was squishy, but more bell peppers and carrots would've been great. My kid thought their fried rice could use some work. It was harder and drier and for "egg fried rice" there was like no egg. I prefer vegetable fried rice with some sprouts, egg, etc Wontons soup was ehhhh. Wontons are small and not very filled, but broth was decent. The people working there are nice I'll give them that. Recently I went since I was craving some diff other than fast food or Mexican. So I ordered egg rolls,orange chicken and their combination rice. Asked for hot mustard ,sweet and sour sauce and was told yes we will add it and then some. Where do I begin? Egg rolls- was told that vegetable egg rolls come in 2-3 and pork just one. I needed a quick snack since I hadn't eaten all day. To my surprise the "egg roll" was more of a lumpia size than an egg roll. Get home and open the big container of rice and in most Asian restaurants they fill it up. The container was pretty much empty. Oh and the hot mustard they said I would get. Well it was just a small container and it was very watered down which only helped for one serving. Same for the sweet and sour sauce. The orange chicken wasn't bad but not the best. read more

Downhill in last few years. Not using quality ingredients or proper cooking techniques. What should be crispy meat is soft, tough and most dishes are entirely too sweet. So this place a bit of a drive. So when we want Asian food I always order extra for left overs. I always order either online or on the phone and hubby is off to pick up: General Tso 's Chicken Sweet and Sour Chicken Mongolian Triple Delight Hunan Triple Delight Four Treasures Guy at the front desk is always friendly and fast. By time he gets there its Bagged, tagged and ready to grab. He just walks in they give him the bag and back home he comes. And we have verity of dishes for several days. They don't deliver which is odd for an Asian restaurant. They serve Thai food and Chinese food which is nice. They are very quick and the e food was hot. We got 15 egg rolls, sweet and sour chicken, and beef fried rice with added vegetables, and shrimp fried rice. Everything was good except the shrimp fried rice only had one shrimp. We could tell they cooked the shrimp fried rice in one pan for the flavor to save money on the shrimp so we won't be ordering that again. read more

Jins Cafe: Where do I start? Service: Horrible, the lady at the register doesn't know what she is doing and is constantly on her phone. As a customer you feel very unimportant. The speed of your food getting to you is decent. Food: Of course the portions are big, every Chinese restaurant has larger meals. The quality is average. There is nothing that makes this place stand out at all. I received my food cold a once before so beware. They have pretty good soups and sweet and sour chicken. Price: Pretty average, can be pricy depending on what you get. I would rather go to the china buffet in town and that isn't even all that great either. Great find in a strip center on the way back from Houston! Stopped in for lunch and had a really nice experience at Jim's. Had the lunch special that included soup, veggie egg roll, and chicken in garlic sauce. All food was hot and delicious. the wait staff was most accommodating with very prompt service. Three words, curry fried rice. Holy moly! We went to walk for a bite to eat, stopped by the Italian joint, went into the Italian joint, stood in there and nothing. Not a soul in sight, there was music but no one. We carried on and began considering Whattaburger. Now, I would never admit that to anyone... As we strolled further we found this gem. The two people on shift seemed kind and our server was sweet and attentive. Her visits to the table were perfect, not too often and not too seldom. This place was the best meal I had on our trip. The egg drop soup was a little different than I am used to but delicious. Thicker consistency, very smooth and hot. The edamame was a massive quantity and basic, which is how I like my edamame. On the the vat of holymoly curry fried rice. I love curry! The taste, the smell, the way it seeps out my pores.... It was not greasy at all, it was perfect and it was hot. I felt awful that the prices seemed very bargain for the quantity of food they give. I imagine they could cut costs drastically by offering even just a little less. However, my job is to eat it all so I took my enough for 2 day leftovers with me and stuck them in the tiny fridge we had in out RV. I was a bit surprised there were peas in the rice. I am bot sure why but I would have expected at least a single pea. My guy got the combo lo mein I believe is what it was. He was thoroughly impressed as well but I can't speak to his since I was too busy devouring my own. If I ever find myself in the area I will make a point to get more. I received a mass of not crispy fried beef, chicken, and shrimp, with a fairly mediocre sauce, and a side of fried rice that was not inspiring either. It was $22 with tax and tip, and I left very disappointed, leaving half of my food on the table. I don't live close but visit my friend in Sealy about once a month. When we went, we ordered chicken fried rice, cheese wontons, fried dumplings, vegetable egg roll, orange beef, and general tso chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious, served hot, was fresh, and nothing was soggy, overly cooked, or dry. It's was simply perfect. I want a Jin's in Houston! Wow....just wow. I have never been to a more disgusting deplorable ....I am at a complete loss of words. Not only was one of the staff members incredible rude to me after messing up my order. He attempted to berate me in front of the entire restaurant. After a brief exchange he realized that he was completely at fault and offered no apology....but here's the kicker 1. The place seemed very unsanitary with what seemed to be either roaches or water bugs crawling on many the surfaces ( I only came in for pick up and noticed this on my way out) 2. And one was in my food....I threw out the entire order. I had never been there before and I went to pick this up for other members of my staff Please save your money and health avoid this place at all cost. This is one of my go-to places for a good lunch. They have great lunch specials that are inexpensive. You can expect to pay between 7 and $8 for lunch special comes with rice soup in an egg roll.
